Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 8

Oki doki we’re getting the hang of this now. The Champions are old, rubbish and are the first team to be knocked out of the tournament, Iranians score better than the Portuguese, Brazil are toothless without Ronaldinho, Ozil and Lukaku are about as reliable in this as they are in FPL and even the Yanks have produced a win – Chins must be bringing them some beginners’s luck.

Today sees the 2nd round of games in Group C and we kick off with what could be one of the games of the tournament so far as those sniffling, snorting Colombians meet Ivory Coast – with both sides having won their opening fixture whoever wins this will have one foot into the next round. The late game sees Japan play Greece, both of whom will be looking for their first win and to keep their tournament hopes alive – the loser alas will likely be flying home.

Sandwiched between the above two games is the big one for many of us as Woy’s Boys take on Uruguay. A must win game for both teams and many eyes will be on selection as we wait to see if Suarez is passed fit while for England, there have been some calling for Rooney to be dropped. For the Goofy one, if he plays, it’ll be a chance for him to test himself vs a few of his talented Liverpool team mates…..and Glen Johnson.

Well good luck, hope your players perform, careful on those formations now.

Thanks for reading Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 8 – Good luck everyone!

What are we sticking on for captaincy? Yepes just got me 16 total, best of any of my 4 attempts so far…pretty poor after the exciting returns of last week. Hopefully Benzema will come through tomorrow with a top top top performance…

id be switching at 16 if I had Benzema. What about 20 (post 13.2 above)?

I have Vargas (C) too and 20 points seem a lot at the moment.

My other potential captains to follow will be:
        Karnezis > Pogba > Messi > Ozil > KDB > Bedoya

Lots of interesting options, but all of them havent been that sparkly in GW1. Only hopes will be from Messi, so im still confused.

thats the thing. Players like Baines, Torodisis, Valbuena, Izzaguire, and Di Maria are more punt captains. I do have Messi though and is the stand out option. If I am going with him, might as well throw it on Baines first but not at all convinced. To beat Vargas someone has to “do” something. Reckon for all its flaws the 3 point bonus in FPL made sense. 1 point for pass accuracy is measly

Dreamers I’d also be switching for 20. I just got 22 from J Rod and am unsure whether to stick or twist. Almost wish it was 20 so I could happily just switch it!

Pippin, that’s a good question. I switched from Vargas (10 points) to Rodriguez today and he got me 11, so I’m wondering whether I should switch it or just take it. It probably depends on who else you have that could get you big points. I have Lahm, di Maria, Dzeko, Bradley, Zabaleta, and Rojo to potentially be my captains. I don’t really see many of those players getting more points other than Dzeko or di Maria. What do you think? Benzema might do well for you, although he might have scored all his goals against Honduras already haha.

Hey gang! I just wanted to stop in and say hello before the big match and see how everyone is doing. I’m getting married in exactly 48 hours, so my apologies for not being around much the past month. But it’s been mental around here trying to get everything ready as I’m sure you can imagine.

I hope that everyone is enjoying the tournament so far, and best of luck today against Portugal to all the FF247 UK crew. After that first match against Ghana, I’m actually feeling slightly hopeful that the U.S might squeak out of the group stages. It’s been a really enjoyable tournament so far with some amazing comebacks. Congratulations to Mito and Columbia today for their win.

I’ll be able to post more once I get this marriage thing in the books, so I’ll catch up with you guys later. Cheers from Vermont! Red : )
