Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 9

Good morning all and we hope you’re up for some more non-stop action as we continue to progress through the group stage of the World Cup. Today is Day 9 and we kick off in the colourful and coastal city of Recife as Italy meet Costa Rica – both teams won their opening fixture in the group and this one should be a further test of how good the surprise package of Costa Rica really are.

The middle game sees us move into Group E as the toblerone-loving, cheese-eating Swissies aim to put one of their neighbours, the garlic smelling French. These two also won their first game, though we suspect you will have more fantasy interest in the French, with the likes Benzema, Pogba and Evra.

And finally, for all you insomniacs out there we have Honduras vs Ecuador – not really sure what to say about this one except to hope that those Hondurans you used to fill up the cheap spaces in your squad play and maybe even get you some points.

Well good luck, hope your players perform, careful on those formations now.

Thanks for reading Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 9 – Good luck everyone!

Armband is on Benzema (36 points). Do I keep it on him or give Messi a chance? Last week I swapped to Lukaku which got me nowt. Advice from the elders please.

Would you change Valbuena as captain to Messi? Leaning towards “no”. Any thoughts?

So, to all pondering swapping their captains out- I had Karnezis (c) on 24 total before this game, and opted to leave it there instead of switching out to Benzema, which would have netted me 32. Sometimes it will pay to gamble… Messi vs Iran is certainly very tempting, but with the mini-league margins so tight it’ll take a ballsy man to remove the armband from a high scoring player I feel.

    France though – woof!
