Fantasy World Cup Live Match Day 14

Fantasy World Cup Live Match Day 14

This evening sees the culmination of Groups E & F. It’s Group F to kick us off as Argentina meet Nigeria – Argentina have already qualified without being anywhere near their best, but a win for Nigeria would see the Africans secure top spot. However, should Nigeria lose and Iran can beat Bosnia then it’s all down to goal difference as to who goes through with the Argies.

The late night matches in Group E should also provide plenty of excitement and tension. The French have pretty much qualified – only an unlikely last game disaster and heavy defeat would see les Frogs eliminated. The more likely battle is for the other qualification place with both Ecuador and the Swiss battling to proceed – Ecuador currently hold the position but may well need to beat the French as one would expect the Swiss to defeat Honduras.

Thanks for reading Fantasy World Cup Live Match Day 14 – Good luck everyone!

I know all the talk is about Messi! With those with half an eye on EPL FF Aguero limped off at half time and was substituted!!!

Hi Peaky mate. Not spoken in a while – Hope all is ok.
It will be interesting to see what the Aguero injury is. Looking like he needs a proper rest. As it stands i think Dzeko could be a good shout for the start of the FPL although Man City wouldn’t be city without buying someone new before the season gets going.
How’s your world cup going so far?

      • peakydave says:

Not good Chins if I say the highlight has been Godin getting me 23 (x2)! yesterday that kinda sums it up,i have Cavani,Lukaku,Dzeko up front!Tried to be clever avoiding the big guns, whoops!! Having said that doing ok in mirror! How you doing??? smile

        • 46 from one player Peaky?! Wow. That’ll make up for missing the big guns.
I’m doing ok thanks. MaccyD going ok now. On 310 now and looking good for a top 2 finish in my group. Mirror not so well. Need a massive Benzema haul today as i did the same as you and went without Messi or Neymar! Doh.
Mirror doubles is looking decent though. Calvins doing the business for us so i think we’re right up there in the league. I’m sure Elle and Inits many many emails to Mirror HQ re point allocation will change that somehow though! 😉
Not even thought about FPL yet. Will leave that until August i think.

I will play 3-5-2 in the new season.Sturridge is 1 but where is the other forward to score the goals?Aguerro is glass,Suarez is history,Rooney is fat and finished,Lukaku is a busted flush,Benteke is in a crap team and is Aguerro mark 2,Costa will struggle as Soldado mark 2,Van Persie see Aguerro.Who is left from the big hitters?

      • Hi Kruz,
If Koeman manages to hold onto most of the squad then JRod could be a good shout.
Arsenal are hopefully going to bring in someone new so maybe see there or go with Giroud.
VG could revitalise MAn Utd. Basically, there are loads of choices. Maybe wait to see the prices come out first.
Do we know if the rules are staying the same? I’d quite like to see a similar scoring to the MaccyDs / MLS site.

        • Kruzcampo says:

          Hi Chins
Jrod comes back from a bad injury,Giroud is a bit better than Andy Carroll,Podolski is better but Wenger doesn’t think so.Utd are a work in progress and will need 2 or 3 years to get back.So WHO steps up to the plate to be the top striker in the Premiership??

        • Wow. You’re a hard one to please! 😉

Maybe 4-5-1 would be better for you smile

      • NIN says:

So Sturridge is the only striker who’ll score regularly?

Ha,lavezzi just squirted his water bottle at Isabella while getting ranted at on the touchline.

Anyone watching the Bosnia game know if Dzeko got the assist on the second goal?
BBC said he did but nothing on the MaccyD site.
Rojo, Messi, and Dzeko doing a good job of bringing some respectability back to my Neymarless points total.
    Ta.

    Pippin says:

God damn forgot to put Pjanic in as well. 14 points I can’t using. Having a shocker today

    • 24.1

Pippin, have you got many coming up in the next games?
      Who’s the armband on currently?

Do you think i should switch the armband from Cuadrado (9) to Valubuena?

      • Pippin says:

hi chins. Armband stayed on Neymar- would be foolish to gamble away 16 points I think. I have Valbuena and Benzema playing this afternoon, and several cheap but solid options on the bench in midfield. Just gutted that Pjanic finally came good and I haven’t capitalised… sad Quall is now streaking into the lead in POTTY D- it’s me and Josh in a deathmatch!

Valbuena is tempting because he takes the corners and also plays in the forward line. If he doesn’t score though, I can’t see him beating 9. Depends a lot on Ecuador’s performance, and I’ve not seen a lot of them so would hesitate to give firm advice. Are you chasing in your group?

        • Didn’t realise you have Neymar Pippin! I’ll stop feeling sorry for you now then 😉

I’m in a tight battle with The B in my group for top spot. There is a bit of a gap back to Elle and Jasprit but i don’t know if Elle is serious about getting points added back on, so i’ll be nervous right up until i see my name in the next round.

Might play it safe and leave the armband on the ColOmbian.

          Peregrin Tok
Just so you know, I’m leading Potty C by 58 points, so whoever finishes 2nd between you and Josh will face me in the next round. Be prepared :biggun:

        • Pippin says:

Tekno, I have been watching your progress with great interest in one of the other leagues… Will be a great match-up whatever happens, for whichever among us makes it out this group of death. Who knows, Quallathon may have used his best XI…?! It’s all still to play for 😉

        • Quallathon says:

Pippin, I had a good couple scorers recently, not counting my chickens yet though, this group is way to high level for that. Have a few options still.
Not sure Valbuena is starting though so that is probably one down the pan.

        • Pippin says:

Quall, you may be right: found this on Twitter:

La compo des Bleus: Lloris – Sagna, Koscielny, Sakho, Digne – Schneiderlin, Pogba, Matuidi – Sissoko, Benzema, Griezmann

Hopefully he’ll wander off the bench and nick a goal though… 😉 Don’t see Sissoko playing the entire game, and Giroud is a more likely replacement for Griezmann I guess. Cabaye is suspended though, I think, so at least we needn’t worry about him coming on

        • Quallathon says:

Time will tell, all the best buddy, I have no idea who you or Josh have left so it’s all very interesting and great fun.

          My fingers are crossed
