Fantasy World Cup Live Match Day 14

It’s hard to believe that the group stages come to an end today! We’ve had a great two weeks of football and those of us under the age of 40 will probably agree that at this stage it is the best World Cup which we remember. We’ve already said goodbye to England, adios to Spain and arrivederci to Italy and today we could conceivably be saying adeus to Portugal…oh and let’s not forget that Luis Suarez has once more upset the holy joes!!

First up today is Group G as the US face Germany while Portugal square up to Ghana. A draw between the Germans and the Yanks will see both qualify for the next round and word on the street is that Angela and Obama have had a natter on the blower and everything has been arranged, this would see the Germans top the group. Should there be a positive result one way or the other in this game then both Portugal and Ghana will hope to take advantage with a victory, but with the Portuguese currently on a goal difference of minus 4, they’ll need a minor miracle…maybe they know a few holy joes?!!!

The final group to come to a conclusion is Group H, with Belgium having already qualified after two workmanlike victories and the Belgians will claim top spot in the should they secure at least a point from their game against South Korea. 2nd spot in the groups is very much up for grabs, although a win for Algeria over the Russians will see them progress, while a draw could possibly be enough.

Thanks for reading Fantasy World Cup Live Match Day 15 – Good luck everyone!

So apparently, the rising popularity of football in the US is a sign of the nation’s moral decay. Dis bitch is fucked up:

Tekno- did u read some of the comments about it?

      • Tekno-kun (The 69er, Winner of Potty's 1st ever Twitter Comp; twice CL Comp winner, current profession: mage, formerly: big bad dawg; hallway monitor; tranny; wannabe Nazi commander) says:

Yeah, I skimmed through them briefly. Glad to see she didn’t get much support.

That is ridiculous and one of the most uninformed articles I’ve ever read.

      • NIN says:

I didn’t make it past the first couple of paragraphs. I really hope it’s some sort of joke.

Out of curiosity, how many people like Ann Coulter is there in the states? It looks like I’ll be moving there shortly so I wanna know what I’m getting myself into…

        • Josh721 says:

You mean like people who hate soccer? I think a lot of people now are just casual fans who either like it or have no interest in the sport. She’s definitely in the minority though, I’ve never really met anyone who has that much of a hatred in a sport. Of course, there are always those people who post on Facebook saying how boring it is and that they would rather watch grass grow, but quite a few people are getting into it now.

        • Calvin Clyne says:

Yeah people make exaggerated comments like that all the time, but considering that she has supposedly written an informed article some of the things she has said are beyond a joke! Absolutely ridiculous if she is considered to be an actual journalist as opposed to a freelance writer. In fact even then it’s ridiculous. Plank.

        • Kop Warrior says:

I haven’t read her article and I’m unlikely to do so…I’d love to ask her to explain the ‘world series’ of baseball!!

        • Josh721 says:

There’s a team that play in Toronto. I guess that gives them the ability to say “world”??

        • Mutley says:

Once i read Tekno’s description, i didn’t bother opening the article.

        • Tekno-kun (The 69er, Winner of Potty's 1st ever Twitter Comp; twice CL Comp winner, current profession: mage, formerly: big bad dawg; hallway monitor; tranny; wannabe Nazi commander) says:

Nah, I mean very religious and/or conservative people, who – from my point-of-view – are kinda out of touch with reality.
          “Obama is a communist”
“Atheists aren’t real Americans – it’s one nation under god!”
“Gun regulation is a violation of my freedom! Abortion and gay marriage though, that shit should be banned”
          “I don’t hate homosexuals; I’m merely obeying god’s will”

The political party furthermost to the right here in Norway doesn’t even come close to these people, so I just wanna prepare myself as I think I’ll be quite shocked when I actually move to the states and meet such people first-hand.

Algeria will either make or break team Mutts tonight!

Mbolhi, Bentaleb and Djabou, all playing tonight. Transferred 11 points out to bring the three of them in.

    Go Algeria, Go!!!

Arse. There goes my Belkalem gamble straight away — Russia score!!

      Josh721 says:

Haha I have Mbolhi so I don’t think that matters too much 😛

      • Pippin says:

true…and at least Belkalem might nick a goal from a corner… *clutches at straws*

        • Josh721 says:

Who else do you have playing?

        • Pippin says:

I have Bentaleb also playing as well as Belkalem, and I’m hoping KDB enters off the bench. I’m actually having doubts whether a punt on the latter was worth it… Anyway, I’ve ditched 6pts to get this shower in- so I’d guess I need to make up those 6 and then score better than whoever you’ve got…?

        • Josh721 says:

I just have Bentaleb and Mbolhi playing. Ditched 5 points for them. Obviously Bentaleb will cancel out, so I guess it comes down to my keeper vs your defender! You’ll probably get more points for recoveries. It looks like a 1 point difference too haha.
