FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW16

Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW16. Following consecutive red arrows in GWs 13 & 14 we managed to claw our way back up the ranks with a final score of 68 in GW15. This comfortably beat the average of 45 and saw us climb back up to 36,483, our best rank of the season so far.

With our defence and keeper returning just 3pts between them we were largely indebted to Captain Kane and Private Fraser who contributed 12pts each (doubled for Kane) with Richarlison not far behind with 10pts. Further solid performances from Jimenez, Sane and a late Salah assist managed to largely negate Arnie’s 0pts!

Last weeks result in full…

Happy with our progress we march on confidently into GW16, but now in search of an Arnie replacement, and with our wildcard still to be used. Could this finally be the week….

This weeks transfer decision(s)
No.

The wildcard lives on, burning a hole in our pockets while at the same time we have taken a hit to remove Salah! There’s logic there somewhere.

Arnie’s (latest) injury and free scoring Arsenal’s fixtures were the caveat for such an extraordinary course of action. Sterling coming in is hardly a bad option, especially as he had a good rest in midweek. Arsenal’s current run of form along with their imminent fixture schedule focuses the mind on them really and hence we made one of their forwards a priority to replace Arnie. We could have simply taken Wilson in but his fixtures turn south whilst Salah’s form is not explosive enough to justify either his price tag or his place instead of Sterling in our team any longer. And so it’s another week and another City mid added, feels like we shall keep on doing this until we have them all!

In truth we would probably have preferred Aubayemang to Lacazette but funds dictated otherwise and with Lacazette likely to return the starting line-up we’re comfortable with the Frenchman. (That could come back to bite us, as could Salah of course c’est la vie).

And so to confirm we have… SOLD SALAH & ARNIE AND BOUGHT STERLING & LACAZETTE

Straight in the team and awarded the armband. Giving a Frenchman this sort of responsibility may be considered reckless, nay insane. But with the Gooners at home to Huddersfield, what could possibly go wrong? Just in case Monsieur Lacazette runs away never to be seen again, Kane is our vice.

  1. Son vs Sane? Who’s more worth their price? Got Sterling and Kane from those tesms

    • H2H probs Sane, but if you’re taking price into account, then probs Son. But that is a real tough question. Personally, I have all four!

      • Are you also taking rotation into consideration?

        • Yes. Sane should play a lot of minutes given Mendy is out. Son should play a lot of minutes given Lamela is out.

    • I landed on Sane and lost Son (although it wasn’t a direct conflict) but in all honesty I couldn’t say which will play this week and which may not. On a WC here and so taking a longer term view which biased me toward Sane, as opposed to Son and Dilva, in my case. Being on a WC though I have the luxury of a decent bench which I appreciate you may or may not.

      • What’s your bench looking like Init?

      • sane will be my move for next week hopefully. got laca in now. whats ur squad lookin like init? going to ponder with it more tomorrow or fairly settled atm?

      • I’m on a WC too and trying to look ahead. Here’s what I’m tinkering with so far. Hardly fireworks.
        How is your WC team shaping up Innit?

      • Here’s mine so far. Chica becomes Mitro next week, he’s in as a one week punt.

        • That double City is tasty, I worry about Kola losing his place with Monreal and Kos coming back in but maybe not as Emery might not thrust them straight back into action.

        • thats a good WC squad init and you also have a plan for next week as well. best of luck this week as well as this upcoming festive period.

        • I like Kola from an attacking POV, but, as Special said, are you not concerned about his security of minutes? Monreal is back soon. Has Emery indicated that Kola is his number one?

          That’s why I went for Bellerin.

  2. For what it’s worth, here’s my WC team. I’m going to sleep on it but I doubt it’ll change.

    • Do you think Lucas will keep his place Ben? Chicharito has been second choice to Arnie this Season.

  3. On a WC, thoughts on team 1 or 2? smile

    • So broadly speaking it is Kane and Gunnarsson versus Salah and Jimenez.

      I think I’d follow the form and go Kane (and Gunnarsson) and use 343. Getting Doherty for that option too helps.

  4. brought in laca and sterling this week. am i set in terms of the starting 11 and got the bench order okay? with martial not likely to play, should coleman be over WB?

    • I think I’d play Coleman before Pereyra.

      Watford aren’t very reliable, Pereyra is off form and Watford have a dreadful Monday night record.

      You may need him though if Murray doesn’t play so I’d make him first on your bench.

      • good point GP. dont think martial will make it for todays game so having pereyra first sub makes sense.

  5. Who should I play Bennett, Wan B or Alonso? Bennett would mean double Wolves defence.

  6. Missed all price rise/falls….yet to make my transfers. Team is linked. What do I do for Arnie replacement? Any suggestion? I have 1.1m ITB and 2FT. Wanted to get an ARS attacker, but stuck.
    (1) To do Arnie > Auba, I need to sell Salah and get someone at max 9.8m. Is it worth? If yes, whom can I get?
    (2) Arnie > Laca + Salah > Sterling = I am 0.1m short (so annoying)
    (3) Otherwise Arnie > ? (8.1m)…but then miss run of ARS and perhaps WHU both….not sure who will start from Chicharito/Carroll/Perez

        • If you really want (2) then you could take a hit (and get the extra 0.1 by downgrading Pat to a 4.0m keeper).

          Or if (1) if preferred then maybe go for Son.
