FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW16

Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW16. Following consecutive red arrows in GWs 13 & 14 we managed to claw our way back up the ranks with a final score of 68 in GW15. This comfortably beat the average of 45 and saw us climb back up to 36,483, our best rank of the season so far.

With our defence and keeper returning just 3pts between them we were largely indebted to Captain Kane and Private Fraser who contributed 12pts each (doubled for Kane) with Richarlison not far behind with 10pts. Further solid performances from Jimenez, Sane and a late Salah assist managed to largely negate Arnie’s 0pts!

Last weeks result in full…

Happy with our progress we march on confidently into GW16, but now in search of an Arnie replacement, and with our wildcard still to be used. Could this finally be the week….

This weeks transfer decision(s)
No.

The wildcard lives on, burning a hole in our pockets while at the same time we have taken a hit to remove Salah! There’s logic there somewhere.

Arnie’s (latest) injury and free scoring Arsenal’s fixtures were the caveat for such an extraordinary course of action. Sterling coming in is hardly a bad option, especially as he had a good rest in midweek. Arsenal’s current run of form along with their imminent fixture schedule focuses the mind on them really and hence we made one of their forwards a priority to replace Arnie. We could have simply taken Wilson in but his fixtures turn south whilst Salah’s form is not explosive enough to justify either his price tag or his place instead of Sterling in our team any longer. And so it’s another week and another City mid added, feels like we shall keep on doing this until we have them all!

In truth we would probably have preferred Aubayemang to Lacazette but funds dictated otherwise and with Lacazette likely to return the starting line-up we’re comfortable with the Frenchman. (That could come back to bite us, as could Salah of course c’est la vie).

And so to confirm we have… SOLD SALAH & ARNIE AND BOUGHT STERLING & LACAZETTE

Our Captain is Lacazette
Straight in the team and awarded the armband. Giving a Frenchman this sort of responsibility may be considered reckless, nay insane. But with the Gooners at home to Huddersfield, what could possibly go wrong? Just in case Monsieur Lacazette runs away never to be seen again, Kane is our vice.

Our team in full…

    Just thinking, is Hazard->Son, and Arnie->Auba a bad move for a 4ph?
    Yes Auba has a good fixture this weekend, and Hazard doesn’t, but losing Hazard in general is never a good thing.
    What do you guys think.
    Good move?
    Or should I just do Arnie to someone else?

  2. Trying to move for Auba/Lacazette.
    Here’s my team at the moment.
    Thinking of either:

    A) Alonso + Arnie -> Diop, Lacazette
    B) Hazard + Arnie -> Martial, Lacazette
    C) Hazard + Arnie -> Fraser (or midfielder under 6.8m), Auba

    Appreciate any thoughts.

    • Tough one, B or C for me. I would say C but you already have wilson and they have some tough games coming up. Hard one!

    • Prob edge towards b. Like trifke said you don’t really want to be doubling up on Bournemouth at the moment

      • Thanks guys; i’m really not sure sure between Haz/Alonso.
        Both could easily start picking up big points.

        Then there’s the Laca/Auba decision!

        Leaning towards A myself….

        • If this helps im doing Alonso and arnie to (4.5 defender no idea who yet) and auba. I think Chelsea wont replicate the good start they had over the coming weeks.

        • That does help.
          But I cant afford Auba so it has to be Laca for me.
          I just need a defender at 4.4 or below, so Diop/Balbuana/Kiko/Soares/ Schindler
          This is for a -4 hit by the way

        • Yeah im doing it for a 4 point hit as well. Yeah laca has been getting points even off the bench hopefully he starts

        • I think its the right move.
          Getting Auba is ideal so you should do very well out of it.
          Im hoping Lacca starts but as you say he is doing well off the bench

    • B for me easily if you’re torn between A and B, Alonso is a lot cheaper than Hazard, think of it this way, do you prefer Hazard and Diop (A) or Martial and Alonso (B)? I prefer B, if you sell Alonso then your defense becomes too light for my liking! Hope this helps!

      • You can always change Alonso later for another premium def!

        • Cheers Zed – you’ve just thrown a spanner in the works as I was set on A….

          Haha, i’m now contemplating B – it does make sense and I did think my defense is too weak without Alonso. Its just Hazard has been getting points when sub-par and injured.

          Geez, hardest decision of the year so far.

      • The number 1 player so far has no Alonso and only has 1 premium defender ( robertson ) a lot of the others do so dont look further down the ladder lol.

        • I like this logic. Thanks for helping me make the decision!

    • I like C among those choices.

  3. Hello all. 1 FT 0.4 ITB

    Ederson
    Robbo Digne Doherty Alonso
    Sane Hazard Richalison
    Auba(C) Wilson Jimenez

    Boruc Mane AWB Højbjerg

    A. Alonso + Mane -> Sterling + Kolasinac
    B. Hazard + Mane -> Sterling + Eriksen
    C. Mane -> Eriksen
    D. Roll FT

  4. How about this with the wild card?
    3-5-2 for the next few weeks.

    • Like it Ivan. Double Hammers in defence may be overkill though plus Pell has already said that Zaba will be in and out over the coming weeks given his age, which is estimated at about 55-60.

      • Haha init, that was just a quick draft. Maybe I should forget about the 3-5-2 and bring in Mitro. Clean sheets are rare events in the hectic festive season but strong bench is important.
        Back to the drawing board 🙂

    • Don’t like the defense Ivan! Foyth? not long term, surely you want a Pool defender, TAA on a WC mate! 😉 Bilva is a bad pick as well mate! smile Just my two cents!

      • I agree Zed but I don’t see many clean sheets for pool in the Christmas fixtures unless TAA snatches a goal or assist in the process.
