FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW2
Well, well, well – 82 points scored in GW1 with 37 of those points coming from our 3 playing defenders. Robertson, Shaw and Mendy all performed heroically with bonus points flying all over the place! Richarlison’s brace was also most welcome while Salah chipped in with his customary goal. Firmino provided an assist but with Liverpool scoring four we may have expected more. The rest of our number were 2pt bums, while like many other managers, we left Wan-Bissaka’s 12 points on the bench.
Overall we are delighted with the start, overall rank means nothing at this stage.
Last Week’s Result
What have we done this week?
Like many of you we have decided to sit on our hands this week and roll our transfer over. To be honest this was always the plan and it would have taken a significant injury to one of our players to have forced us into the transfer market. Thankfully we didn’t own KDB! Two transfers next week coupled with the 0.5mln we have stashed in the bank should give us an element of flexibility. We will be paying close attention to both Cairney and King this weekend as neither impressed in GW1.
The Team In Full…
Captain – Sergio Aguero
Unlike last week we were actually forced to take a vote this week. As you can see Aguero came out on top but only just. He carried the vote three votes to two over Mo Salah. Of course there is the chance that Pep will start Jesus over Kun but we believe that to be unlikely and a home game against Huddersfield is too good an opportunity to turn down.

Hi all, I hope everyones gw1 went well.
Who would be best to play ralls vs newcastle or king vs west ham.
Thanks
Ralls I reckon.
King
King
+1
Ralls I reckon.
Thanks for the responses guys seems pretty split might have to coin toss
Morning all
I never should have WC’d but that premature horse has long bolted!
Don’t like any draft I’ve put together so far but this is the closest to being satisfactory.
Erik will become Mane next week.
Thoughts?
Morning Madhatter.
WTF led you to wildcard so early? I’m guessing alcohol! I’m presuming btw that the team linked from your username isn’t your’s, unless you pulled the WC despite almost hitting 80 pts?
Of the above, I think Holebas, Neves and Wilson are chasing last weeks points but looks solid regardless.
I think I got 75 points.
But I bought in KDB, found out he was injured and Rage Wildcarded!
Can’t even blame it on Alcohol, just pure anger at transfering too early after Ironically telling people on here to hold fast!
To be honest I’m not a big fan of Holebas and Wilson in this team. And not convinced by the double Wolves bench either.
If I was wildcarding I would try to make way for Sterling I think. If that’s possible.
Eriksen –> Sterling, Bilva –> a 6.0m mid… Very doable!
I don’t want Sterling, plus I want Mane. So Erik will become Mane next week
Isn’t that goalie combo a bit iffy?
Kepa is Chelsea’s keeper and it’ll just be sit and forget
Ah right, I though he was the Arsenal guy, (perhaps cause it says ARS under his name, lol)… I was confused, yeah that’s not too shabby then!
Nah, not a dodgy combo at all – sounds really poetic to have a goalie called Kepa & a back-up, to ‘Hamer’ the opposition, just in case. I bet there’s thousands of nifty names in the PL – heard a nice combination on The Guardian podcast the other day, using Bridges – Madison – Kanté ie. The Bridges of Madison County – had a bit of a chuckle about it! Cheerio! I will try to provide more sensible advice next time!
That’s a solid 11 …any need to pay for Neves to sit on the bench or does he rotate well with Wilson? If not I’d personally drop him to a 4.5 and upgrade Wilson/Holebas
Yeah it’s the rotation
Peltier over Bennet. Don’t like the Holebas pick either but the rest is pretty good.
Good morning,
I think I’m settled for this weekend, I’m just wondering if I should start Obi Wan or Peltier, or even Tomkins?
I would change Peltier out of all of them.
Rest is good to go mate, good luck
Chance*
+1 better fixture than Palace
+1 to starting Peltier. I’d also have Stephens as first sub since he will get at least 2 points – Palace defenders are more likely to end up on one or even zero points IMO.
Or even minus points!
Peltier in for WB, WB won’t score a haul every game, especially against Liverpool!!!
Ok thanks guys.
I don’t think it’s a clear cut as you seem to say. Newcastle were good and Cardiff poor last week, and CP looks strong defensively and there’s also attacking potential for Obi Wan, but I guess I’ll still end up with Peltier…
I just think WB or Peltier won’t get you any points this week, but you just have to choose between them, so Peltier has a better chance of scoring more points… It’s just pure likelihood, Liverpool are perhaps the best attacking team at the moment, or the second, in either way, to me it sounds pure madness to play a def against them! Peltier might not get anything either, but at least he’ll get 1 or 2 points. WB could get a yellow and end up with 0 or even -1… Or he could assist and get 3 or even 4… But that’s just highly unlikely imo!
Start Peltier.
I would go Peltier, some talk that he might actually be dropped, so you would default to another defender if that was the case anyway.

Here’s a nice Pep interview if someone hasn’t seen it yet (from a week ago)!
site team are you worried about not having mane or maybe a 3rd city mid?
Mane more of a must than Salah in my view.
Based on what?
Price is one big reason and also there is a lot of upside on Mane, he should be odds on to do better this season than last and there is mainly downside on Salah who will be hard pushed to achieve what he did last season.
Mane scores twice and suddenly he’s more of a must than Salah?????
I’m sorry but I must disagree with this. Mane need to show us that he can perform to this extent on a consistent basis.
Plus Mane’s second goal was offside, with Salah standing next to him, could have as easily been Salah’s goal that one or no goal at all… It’s just one game!
Nothing to do with Mane scoring twice on the first day.
Salah would have to outscore Mane by a huge amount of points for Salah to be a better pick than Mane as Salah is so much more expensive than him.
Salah should outscore Mane over the course of the season, but with Salah being so expensive entrants might only be able to afford a few good players with Mane entrants will be able to afford many good players.
Will a Salah team managed by a strong fantasy football player best a Mane team managed by a strong fantasy football player ?
Right now I would back a Salah team over a Mane team!
“Nothing to do with Mane scoring twice on the first day.
Salah would have to outscore Mane by a huge amount of points for Salah to be a better pick than Mane as Salah is so much more expensive than him.”
This point depends on how well the cheap players score, as in comparison Salah and X or Mane and Y, with Y being 3.5m cheaper than X… Plus there’s no reason to believe Salah will not outscore Mane by a considerable amount (YET)…
“Salah should outscore Mane over the course of the season, but with Salah being so expensive entrants might only be able to afford a few good players with Mane entrants will be able to afford many good players.”
Again, depends how the other players score, how expensive are the “good players”… It’s a bit complex…Plus there’s captaincy issue, if you know Salah will often outscore Mane, you’re likely gonna captain Salah more than Mane (and also get more points in the process if, indeed, Salah scores more than Mane, and, again, there’s no reason YET to believe that he won’t)
“Will a Salah team managed by a strong fantasy football player best a Mane team managed by a strong fantasy football player ?”
You can have both in your team, but it has nothing to do with “strong fantasy football players”… It’s a game with a lot of luck involved… It’s just whether that 3.5m elsewhere in your team can outscore the Salah/Mane gap, so to speak, with the captaincy taken into consideration!
I bet if Mane can keep up with Salah, at least even closely, it means both are rather essential!
+1 !
I think mane will improve on last season but I still feel salah is a must have. can really punish you if he starts scoring heavily. if mane goes on a good run it isn’t that hard to get him in your side. but if you went without salah then you are looking at a wc to get him back
I think the question should really be “which three Liverpool are the best option?” I went Robertson/Salah/Firmino before GW1 and I’m waiting until after GW2 to decide whether that still makes sense.
Site went for King and not Wilson……hmm, was that a pre season thing ?
Probably also that Wilson has a bad habit of scoring big one week then blanking for the next 6 weeks – I reckon most people have been badly burned by him at some point over the last couple of seasons. I certainly have.
Per bookies odds and stats Wilson more likely to score than King.
