Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW26.
I love it when a plan comes together…
More pertinently; a hit, ‘I love it when a hit comes together…’ That was the rallying cry from one of our panel on Saturday night and thank goodness that we did it. It’s difficult to put a number on how many points it gained us, or conversely how many it would have lost us had we not done so, mainly because we don’t know who we would have captained instead. A sliding doors moment, if you like. Or the Butterfly Effect. We can hypothesise all we like and come up with scenarios of having captained Vardy or TAA but the fact of the matter is that we would have come up well short either way. Salah was only one element of last weeks ‘hit’ though, the fact that Lascelles came in and kept a cleanie was equally as satisfying, especially so that Soyuncu (going the other way) conceded two.
As for the team itself, Salah aside, it was a one way street between defence and attack ; our defence (and keeper) got us a very rare clean sweep of clean sheets for a combined 18 points. Our other six attackers amassed 11 points between the 6 of them.
All in all then it was a satisfying haul of 67 points which saw a green arrow and a rise of 22k places leaving us in 106,713th place overall.
Our GW25 Result…
Let’s go see what was decided…
Our GW26 Transfer(s)
The one area of our squad that looked somewhat suspect this week was our defence, given that our newbie Lascelles goes to Arsenal and Kelly and The Lord appear to be out of favour. Unfortunately, our funds or lack thereof, dictated that The Lord had to go. Sad we know, but ruthless we are and it was just left to decide whether to buy a fellow Blade or Jack Stephens of Southampton. Both teams have good fixtures going forward but it was Saint Jack who won the vote, mainly because Southampton play in GW28 and Sheffield United don’t.
To confirm then we have SOLD The Lord and BOUGHT Jack Stephens
Captain – Mo Salah
The captaincy vote was just as straightforward – Salah’s trip to Norwich was too good for our conservative committee to ignore. Salah returned 12pts when Liverpool hosted Norwich in GW1 – a similar result in GW26 would be sweet.
Our GW26 team in full…

You guys just love a green arrow, don’t you?! Well done!
I am currently tinkering and I think I came up with a 3 week plan, if nothing goes wrong…
With 2FT & 0.5ITB at the moment, my planned moves are:
Guaita -> McCarthy & Lundstram – Stevens (GW26)
Holgate -> Lascelles (GW27)
Nakamba -> Hayden (GW28)
Do you see a better way to prepare for GW28 or just genuinely better options that I didn’t think of?
TIA
I suppose you could also consider Mane for KDB for that one but depends on funds etc.
Good evening, init! I already have 3 Liverpool players and all of them are performing quite well, so don’t feel like changing any of them ATM. If (when) Mane comes back with a bang, then I will think of possible move. And the biggest issue is that it will cost me 2 more FT (unless it’s a straight swap for Salah which I am not a fan of).
Maybe I can ditch Vardy for Ings to free up some funds but I will watch Wolves-Leicester and reassess afterwards.
Crazy to use my two ft’s and have a one week punt on Kun and cappo him?
Would mean Vardy and Martial to Kun and Traore.
I don’t think it’s crazy
Raz, that is what I am doing. The only credible captain options in this round are Kun and Ings. Salah has just two away goals so far and if there is a pool player who is going to shine, that is Mane who will be ready to play after the long recovery/rest from a mine muscle knock :yes:
Definitely not crazy.
Not at all, came close myself, but have a think about how you’ll unravel things once you’ve got Kun.
Success tomorrow will create a lot of momentum for managers as they approach the final straight.
Tnx mate.
And yeah, actually could have done the move last week and I would have capped him over Salah. We all know how that would have worked out.
That being said. Kun could have scored a few….
No fear of Jesus starting over Kun?
Always a small possibility Raz but that’s probably less now with Sterling being out.
I fancy Pep may start both.
What would you do with this lot guys?
1 FT and 0 itb
Who’s the best 4.3 mil defender to buy atm? Clark from Newcastle because of the fixtures? Or Taylor of Burnley? Or go with a big team with Tanganga or Brandon Williams?
Prob Taylor (since you don’t have Pope), then Lascelles, then Clark for me. I need to see another week or two before recomending Tanganga.
Me again. Ok now Kelly is flagged and has lost his spot I’m thinking Tanganga and Kun in for Kelly and Vardy. Sound like a plan?? I really want Kun even though he will blank soon. Or do we think Jesus may get a chance with no sterling about?
Thanks as always gang
Go for it, you clearly want Kun so just do it I say.
Ta Init. Tanganga seems nailed on now which is a good thing. Cheers
Hi guys, anyone know the preferred starting defenders for Burnley? Besides Mee and Tarkowski, there’s seem to be a bit of rotation, but the fullbacks are cheaper!
After looking at their latest lineups, seems like Taylor might be the safest bet. A bit more rotation between Lowton and Bardsley than between Taylor and Pieters.
Talking to yourself now, Teks? First signs of losing your sanity. :popcorn:
I did research on my own question!
Just kidding Teks. You know I love you.
Sort of made the joke because I’m known for my monologs.
Play Cathcart (Brighton A) or Taylor (Southampton A) over Lundstram (Bournemouth H)?
Lundstram is a liability that can give you one pointers… Hard one… Taylor and Burnley have the better form? Versus Soton tho. Coin toss. I have Ings but I’d go Taylor.
Cheers Raz, I think Sheffield United are most likely to keep a clean sheet but that doesn’t matter if Lundstram doesn’t play. I can’t really imagine Burnley or Watford keeping clean sheets but I reckon it’s between Lundy and Taylor :scratch_one-s_head:
