I love it when a plan comes together…

More pertinently; a hit, ‘I love it when a hit comes together…’ That was the rallying cry from one of our panel on Saturday night and thank goodness that we did it. It’s difficult to put a number on how many points it gained us, or conversely how many it would have lost us had we not done so, mainly because we don’t know who we would have captained instead. A sliding doors moment, if you like. Or the Butterfly Effect. We can hypothesise all we like and come up with scenarios of having captained Vardy or TAA but the fact of the matter is that we would have come up well short either way. Salah was only one element of last weeks ‘hit’ though, the fact that Lascelles came in and kept a cleanie was equally as satisfying, especially so that Soyuncu (going the other way) conceded two.

As for the team itself, Salah aside, it was a one way street between defence and attack ; our defence (and keeper) got us a very rare clean sweep of clean sheets for a combined 18 points. Our other six attackers amassed 11 points between the 6 of them.

All in all then it was a satisfying haul of 67 points which saw a green arrow and a rise of 22k places leaving us in 106,713th place overall.

Our GW26 Transfer(s)

The one area of our squad that looked somewhat suspect this week was our defence, given that our newbie Lascelles goes to Arsenal and Kelly and The Lord appear to be out of favour. Unfortunately, our funds or lack thereof, dictated that The Lord had to go. Sad we know, but ruthless we are and it was just left to decide whether to buy a fellow Blade or Jack Stephens of Southampton. Both teams have good fixtures going forward but it was Saint Jack who won the vote, mainly because Southampton play in GW28 and Sheffield United don’t.

To confirm then we have SOLD The Lord and BOUGHT Jack Stephens

Captain – Mo Salah
The captaincy vote was just as straightforward – Salah’s trip to Norwich was too good for our conservative committee to ignore. Salah returned 12pts when Liverpool hosted Norwich in GW1 – a similar result in GW26 would be sweet.

Has anybody got a clue what i should be doing with Lundstram this GW, I’m saving my ft to raise cash to change him next GW possibly, but he does not look right 3rd from the left, not sure i should even be considering playing Guendouzi, so any other views on Guendouzi and bench line up will help my aching head :dash:

      • Yes somehow that doesn’t look right. Surely C and VC between Salah and Kun here? (either fit for the C)

        • Haha AJW,! My captain and VC is not the problem, whether i choose the right one is another matter, I’m just trying to sort out the minor points, I’m playing in the 3rd round of the FF247 cup and i have no intention of disclosing my captain on here, walls have ears and all that! :rofl:

    • I agree Lundy looks weird right out there but apparently he’s lost his place, however I’d probly still select him ahead of Guendouzi?
      If not then maybe Webster and go 4-3-3

      Team looks good, only weak link I’d say is Tammy 2 goals in 10 ?
      and tough fixtures ahead. You fancy Ings?

      • Yeah I’ve been looking at Ings. Every week I’ve wanted him there have been other moves I needed to make! I’d be left with nearly 2m sitting in the bank with that move. Anywhere else I can strengthen?

    • Hold the FT and flip Richarlison+Lundy/Kelly next round I’d say smile

      • Hi OddDane! I can do Abraham, Richarlison and Kelly to Ings, Son and Williams (Utd) but if I wait I have to hope there are no price rises otherwise it’s a -8!

        • As others suggest you can also do Tammy > Ings this week (or other lower cost options, e.g. Wood, Deeney, DCL or Deulofeu) and see for next week if it’s Richarlison/Lundy/Kelly who needs to go. I have been trolled by Ings for weeks now which is why he’s first on the recommendation list for me smile (still have him)

        • I personally don’t mind Tammy, or his fixtures for that matter, but if you want to shift him I’d note there’s a chance he may drop in price soon

    I have two free transfer. I been wanting to get rid of Ali but spurs are facing villa which could be a cracker.

    Anyways any transfers I should consider or just hold again?

  6. Morning everyone, I lit the World on fire by bringing in Egan for Lundy. Still have 1 FT but 0 ITB. Traore for Grealish perhaps? Villa and Grealish have really hit a rocky patch. Here is my team at the moment. Thanks all.
