A lucky touch of genius
“We have decided to simply bend over and take whatever Pep gives us, good or bad”. That was a quote from last week in relation to buying Aguero. Turns out he was in a giving mood! Two transfers and four goals; you could be forgiven for thinking we may be a bunch of geniuses, but anybody who actually read how we arrived at last weeks decision to bring in Kun and captain him will know very differently! It wasn’t an entirely unplanned birth in the end, but our intentions did start out very differently, let’s just say the condom broke and leave it at that…
An 8th green arrow in a row sees us up to another season high of 21,336th, a rise of about 10k. Kun obviously did his bit, as did Son, elsewhere Jimenez starred with a 9, Pogba got a sublime assist, as did Doherty (less sublime though!) and Wan-B and Shaw did their bits with clean sheets. The rest simply made up the numbers to see us end up on a fairly respectable 88 points, 23 above the average.
Last week’s result…
This week’s transfer decision…
We go into this week with 1 free transfer and £0.3m in the bank. We have to have an eye on the blanks ahead in GW27 of course, and to that end we are without Digne, Sane and Aguero for that one as we stand. Let’s go see how we plan to juggle that with the need for actual points this week….
It was a fairly simple and unanimous decision this week, there are no tales of incompetence or internal struggles to regale you with this week, unfortunately. As much as Aguero was a welcome addition last week, and as much as he served his purpose, we are nothing if not ruthless in our pursuit of points and quite simply Aubameyang suits us perfectly this week in that respect, on more than one level. He has the better (arguably the best; see Huddersfield) fixture and he’s a bit of a flat track bully against this sort of opposition; it’s difficult not to offend somebody along the line when you say this but he has 24 points against Fulham and 20 against Cardiff over two games and double digits against Burnley and… Spurs.
To confirm then; we are SELLING AGUERO & BUYING AUBAMEYANG
Our Captain is Mo Salah
New recruit PEA was well and truly in the mix here but Mo just edged him by the finest of margins. It could be that Bournemouth’s form against the ‘big 6’ swayed the vote; 8 games, 7 defeats, 22 conceded, and in some of those games heavily so. Or it could be the memory of what Salah did to them last time. Or it could be that we just think Liverpool may suddenly reawaken and kick on again and that this feels like the sort of fixture in which that may happen. Or it could all just be pie in the (blue) sky thinking. For the record, our one Liverpool fan voted for Aubameyang!

Hi All, thanks for the articles this week!
I used a FT already this week to bring in Son for Hazard and now have a another FT left with 2m ITB. My original plan was to bring in Auba for Aguero but with Aguero’s home form and now illness to Auba I’m considering waiting until next week to do this move.
A. Aguero to Auba
B. Roll FT and do option A next week
C. Ederson to Fabianski with GW27 in mind and do option A next week
D. Richarlison to Pogba (probably leaves me without a keeper for GW 27 unless taking a hit)
Ederson (Button)
Robbo, Doherty, Digne (Bednarek, Wan B)
Salah, Son, F.Anderson, Richarlison (Hojbjerg)
Aguero, Rashford, Jimenez
Thanks
I would leave Kun be.
Rich to Mane or Digne to Kola maybe?
I have Sane, Son, Pogba & Salah. 0.2mil ITB & 1FT. Thinking of swapping Sane for Mane or……. should I just keep him for GW26 and transfer him out prior GW17?
Do you have any other players blanking in GW 27? I’d be inclined to hold Sane for another week with City’s home form
Yeah. For midfield, only Sane blanking in GW27. Agree on City current form but not Sane. He’s kind of misfiring lately.
I think its a good move, if I didn’t have 3 pool its a move I’d be tempted to do too.
thanks for the feedback Rosco
Thoughts on my squad for next 3 GWs? 1ft, 1.6itb
Problems:
5 missing in GW27
Need a better cap in GW27 (Auba/Laca?)
Defence is mince in GW28
Pretty sure Aguero will come out either this week or next, what would your approach be with the above in mind?
I’d probably do Aguero to Aubamayang either this week or next and if TAA returns this week Digne to him with one eye on BGW31. I’d probably also take a -4 if you don’t have 11 next week and do Richarlison to Anderson
Thanks!
I had similar thoughts. Auba in this week or next. Richarlison out for Anderson/Milivojevic GW27 (and bench Redmond). TAA in for Trippier GW28.
Alternatively, considering Pereira in for Digne (or to a lesser extent Luiz) GW27.
Will see how the cup plays out but looking at free hit for GW31.
Really can’t decide whether to hold on to sane and give him one more chance to redeem himself or just sell him for mane. Or Anderson even and then I will have an easy route to getting rashford. 1ft 0.7m itb. Also play awb over bednarek?
I would sell him
I would sell for Anderson!
Anderson over mane?
So I listened to a few managers on here who said don’t waste a transfer on Aguero. Keep Aubameyang. I should have gone with my own instincts. So thank you all. I am hoping for a big and better GW. I hope Salah captaincy will work. I brought in Son for Sane, who btw was my captain last week
Yeah it’s tough, in the end you always are responsible for your own decisions, you can get help from others but you always make the final call. It’s not clever to assume that people here can be right every single time (I didn’t get Aguero either and capped Sane, could have been Sane with the hatty before KO, hindsight is nice but useless).
Nobody on here could look into a crystal ball and predict that Aguero was going to score a hat-trick.Everybody’s team has a different set of circumstances,it suited some team structures to do the move,it didnt suit others.
At the end of the day you come on here seeking advice and you received it but the final decision is always yours. Its your team !!
Wrong attitude that fella, nobody knows what’s going to happen each week, you’ll have probably had some good advice once or twice no?
You can get all the advice you want, but it’s ultimately you who makes the transfer, bud.
+1000 !!
Out of interest, what’s the gut saying this week?
Take no responsibility I think! 😉
Least he’s listening to it now 😉
I take the majority of the responsibility of my transfer decisions. I didn’t fully analyze my moves. I wanted not to waste a transfer this week inn selling Aguero this week. It is what it is. I just needed to vent
There you go then; think of it as a transfer saved 😆
The Majority? So who should take the rest!? Man alive, I’m better than most at venting but there are ways to vent and ways not to!!
Oi, Rosco. Stop venting 😉
Rosco I could vent how i want. You or nobody can’t tell me otherwise. I have a right to be disappointed. Already having a poor season
Chris. Hope you understand that the manager of your team is only you. No one forced you to take any decisions. You can vent all you want, but not by holding others responsible for your decisions. What if Aguero had blanked as well? So, chill mate and prepare for future games.
Hey up girls, hows the pink handbags holding up in this cat fight ?
elle’s got a new handbag
Thanks for clearing that up Chris. So just clarify:
if you ask for anyone’s opinion it comes with the caveat that we will have to assume a small percentage of the blame if your moves don’t work out.
Furthermore you are within your rights to then show your disappointment in any way you please because ‘nobody can’t tell you otherwise’
Seems perfectly reasonable! Not sure why anyone has issue with it 😉
I had Auba as well. But, I also had Aguero. Haha. Sorry
@MoSalah
“The Egypt Football Association have confirmed that Mohamed Salah will not be called up to the squad for their March internationals.
The African nation are set to take on both Nigeria and the Niger Republic in two African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier matches.
Now, vice-president of the country’s football body Ahmed Shobier revealed that Liverpool’s star man will not be invited to play in the games taking place on March 22 and 26.
-Mohamed Salah will not play the Niger game in the AFCON qualifiers or the Nigeria friendly,” the EFA vice president told KingFut.
The Reds take on Fulham on March 17 and Tottenham on March 31 so keeping the winger at Melwood and not having to deal with travelling to Africa should be a positive for Jurgen Klopp.”
Great news!
Good to know!
