FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW35
Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW35.
It’s all in the math(s).
Like many others we played our wildcard last week and like many others we had an absolute SHOCKER! With no representatives in the Friday night game our game-week kicked off at lunchtime on Saturday. The writing was on the wall when our captain, Son, was benched. A certain member of the management was rather smug about this. Son eventually climbed off of the bench and almost immediately picked up an assist to go with Eriksen’s assist and Loris’ clean sheet. 20pts from our Spurs trio left us feeling good about our wildcard. Little did we know that they would account for approximately 60% of our total score. We were lucky that Messer’s Duffy & Dunk didn’t score minus points as Brighton conceded 5. Matt Doherty also returned zero points. The only other player who delivered for us over the weekend was Mo Salah. Onto Monday night and things got even worse. Fresh from setting light to the Notre Dame cathedral Troy Deeney went and got himself sent off at Arsenal. Our game-week came to a conclusion on Tuesday night as Brighton were beaten 2-0 at home by Cardiff which meant the Double D’s picked up 1pt each over their two games. Losers! We finished the game-week on 33pts and a red arrow of 5k to leave us in 11,785th position. It’s time to dust ourselves down and attack DGW35 with vengeance.
Last weeks disaster in glorious technicolor;
This week’s transfer – we have held our Free Transfer, cancelled Bench Boost and have activated our Triple Captain
Duffy, Dunk, Deeney. That’s our outfield bench for this week’s planned Bench Boost. The original plan was to sell Dunk for a Saint. However, Deeney’s moment of stupidity meant a hit for the Saint and we felt that wasn’t really worth it.
Which would have left us with a bench of Foster/Lloris, Dunk, Duffy & a Deeney replacement (likely Wilson).
It was a long meeting and akin to Brexit we entered it not really knowing where we were going or what we were hoping to achieve.
The DGW maths equation was ‘applied’ but argued over. Were we starting with a base of 14pts (7 matches x 2 appearance points) or were Dunk & Duffy likely to record next to nothing once again? Much really depended on Wilson.
We had one member actively pushing to delay BB (we’ll call him Theresa) another wanting to push the button (we’ll call him Nigel) while the remaining two members were seemingly stuck sat on the fence, chewing the fat, smoking a couple of cigarettes, putting the world to rights, understanding both sides of the argument but ultimately getting nowhere and going round in FPL circles (we’ll call these two the Fencers).
We also had two members (Theresa & Fencer 1) suggesting using TC this week.
Nigel appeared shouting ‘Bench Boost means Bench Boost’ then disappeared.
Like any forward thinking and inspirational Brexit negotiator would do, a compromise was suggested. Fencer 2 (who was loosely advocating delaying BB and using TC in GW36) suggested he would agree to the TC in 35 with a view to a longer delay in BB, possibly until GW38 or whenever a majority vote could be passed.
Saints home to Huddersfield in GW38 does present a potentially better opportunity for BB though we’d need to be lucky with team sheets.
Ultimately we have done what we have done due to the weakness of our outfield bench. We would have been happy to have continued with our plan of Dunk to a Saint but Deeney scuppered that and meant that no real solution is ideal.
We are not advocating not BBing – every team is different and you all have your different aims and mini-league situations.
Our Triple Captain is Aguero
All should be clear from the above. Our sudden liking for Kun comes from City now being 100% focused on the league and the general feeling that they will need to beat both Spurs & Manchester United if they are to win the league. Pep plays his big players in the big matches and this is a huge week for City. Just in case, our vice captain is Son. Who plays Brighton. Can’t fail!

Thanks for the site team. I’m a bit surprised but not so much, it was a very Brexitish decision
Just one remark: you say your vice captain is Son, but on the picture it’s Jimenez.
Not that it should have any impact…
I am so unclear re my captain. I can’t seem to feel my way into Aguero. Just because they have to win does not mean Aguero won’t be tired. He is not so young anymore and their opposition is not weak.
SPURS have to make the top four. Son is young enough to deal with this game and also would surely like to extend the limelight he has been basking in.
Jimenez is a reliable scorer and they have good match ups.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Bees, I’m probably not going to help much here, but I would happily captain 6 of your front 7, the exception for me being Eriksen.
With your team, for me it’s either Aguero or Son. Just to add to what you’re saying on Son, he’s suspended for next CL game, meaning he’s more likely to have a lot of minutes.
I wouldn’t go for Jimenez myself but I can see the appeal in that. I’m just not sure Wolves will show enough motivation. Happy to have him in my team but I won’t captain him.
That’s just my thoughts!
Thanks Cookie and Frenchie, especially for the info re Son not playing in next CL match. Will probably Cpt him and VC Aguero.
Who are your captains?
Aguero our of those for me Bees. Actually, it’s Sterling, Aguero, Son for me this week.
Son’s a pretty good choice. I started on Aguero (almost as a reflex) then switched it to Jiminez. Then I read that Wolves have been chilling out all week. I like the look of the Brighton fixture plus City will be nervous of Son.
Will sleep on that one, so to speak.
I’m going for it. Triple captain on lacazette. Rested last premiership game and subbed on 68 against Napoli. Hopefully Unia Emery starts him in both games.
That’s brave good luck
Aguero could not score against CRY last week and his pts in last DGW was against FUL, not against the likes of TOT and MU. Plus he is not young anymore…my thinking anyway. Am going with Son who as Frenchie said is not playing in next CL match.
All the best to you!
I like it!!
Some unorthodox picks also (Mendy) which makes me like it even more.
I would just be tempted to play Kolasinac or at least first on the bench in case TAA doesn’t play.
Aguero or Son for TC is such a headache. So hard to look passed City players but Pochettino’s comments suggest Son will start both matches. Aguero proved last DGW that he only needs to play 50-odd minutes and he can still register a good score though!
I’m not looking past City for a captain
Yeah, that’s what’s putting me off Son! Spurs do have better fixtures, but I guess it doesn’t really matter with City

He scored against Spurs on Wednesday night!
With the greatest of respect, I think selecting stats to go against Aguero leaves out all the stats pointing towards picking him.
Look at his record vs Spurs and United for starters!
But yes, I’m very tempted by Son
It is a dilemma R1…I am with you on this. If I had Sterling in my squad I would probably go with him.
Yeah. At least if we pick different players one of us should do well
Can Son do ‘that’ again at the Etihad? I don’t think so. He scored two fantastic goals but it was a Champions League game where City needed to score/attack. They’ll need that now too of course but they won’t start the game losing 1-0 so the rush won’t be the same and thus Spurs will struggle I think.
So, it’s Aguero for me between those two. Especially if you are TCing because Sergio has the pens whereas Son doesn’t.
Kun only needs to play for 20 mins, he’s an eternal fantasy superdude. But Son will probably do the business against Brighton (unless they beat City and switch off for the second game with their B team).
Trippier- what would you do with him? Will he play? If he plays , will he have positive scores v City?
Who knows Guess if you have him you play him and hope he gets the Brighton game at the least.
Of course he will Dreamers. 20 points guaranteed this DGW.
No one captaining Duffy this game week then?
Tempted
Now there would be a differential
No but i considered bringinging Rondon in for Deeney !
I considered Rondon too. His recent record at St. James’ Park makes for pretty good reading! SGWs are just unsexy, though, so Gray prevailed. Tough call.
Yeah been mulling Grey over too.None of the options in that price bracket are appealing. Also considered delaying bench boost till gw 36 ! Wouldnt want to leave it later than that and have to use valuable transfers changing most of my bench !
Sounds interesting Brooky. Good luck! I am getting Wilson and playing BB. Too lazy to change my plans now
Wilson going up last night scuppered that plan !
Why ever not? Tough DGW but Brighton are made of strong stuff. They’ll win at a canter at Wolves then humiliate Spurs.
