FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW35
Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW35.
It’s all in the math(s).
Like many others we played our wildcard last week and like many others we had an absolute SHOCKER! With no representatives in the Friday night game our game-week kicked off at lunchtime on Saturday. The writing was on the wall when our captain, Son, was benched. A certain member of the management was rather smug about this. Son eventually climbed off of the bench and almost immediately picked up an assist to go with Eriksen’s assist and Loris’ clean sheet. 20pts from our Spurs trio left us feeling good about our wildcard. Little did we know that they would account for approximately 60% of our total score. We were lucky that Messer’s Duffy & Dunk didn’t score minus points as Brighton conceded 5. Matt Doherty also returned zero points. The only other player who delivered for us over the weekend was Mo Salah. Onto Monday night and things got even worse. Fresh from setting light to the Notre Dame cathedral Troy Deeney went and got himself sent off at Arsenal. Our game-week came to a conclusion on Tuesday night as Brighton were beaten 2-0 at home by Cardiff which meant the Double D’s picked up 1pt each over their two games. Losers! We finished the game-week on 33pts and a red arrow of 5k to leave us in 11,785th position. It’s time to dust ourselves down and attack DGW35 with vengeance.
Last weeks disaster in glorious technicolor;
This week’s transfer – we have held our Free Transfer, cancelled Bench Boost and have activated our Triple Captain
Duffy, Dunk, Deeney. That’s our outfield bench for this week’s planned Bench Boost. The original plan was to sell Dunk for a Saint. However, Deeney’s moment of stupidity meant a hit for the Saint and we felt that wasn’t really worth it.
Which would have left us with a bench of Foster/Lloris, Dunk, Duffy & a Deeney replacement (likely Wilson).
It was a long meeting and akin to Brexit we entered it not really knowing where we were going or what we were hoping to achieve.
The DGW maths equation was ‘applied’ but argued over. Were we starting with a base of 14pts (7 matches x 2 appearance points) or were Dunk & Duffy likely to record next to nothing once again? Much really depended on Wilson.
We had one member actively pushing to delay BB (we’ll call him Theresa) another wanting to push the button (we’ll call him Nigel) while the remaining two members were seemingly stuck sat on the fence, chewing the fat, smoking a couple of cigarettes, putting the world to rights, understanding both sides of the argument but ultimately getting nowhere and going round in FPL circles (we’ll call these two the Fencers).
We also had two members (Theresa & Fencer 1) suggesting using TC this week.
Nigel appeared shouting ‘Bench Boost means Bench Boost’ then disappeared.
Like any forward thinking and inspirational Brexit negotiator would do, a compromise was suggested. Fencer 2 (who was loosely advocating delaying BB and using TC in GW36) suggested he would agree to the TC in 35 with a view to a longer delay in BB, possibly until GW38 or whenever a majority vote could be passed.
Saints home to Huddersfield in GW38 does present a potentially better opportunity for BB though we’d need to be lucky with team sheets.
Ultimately we have done what we have done due to the weakness of our outfield bench. We would have been happy to have continued with our plan of Dunk to a Saint but Deeney scuppered that and meant that no real solution is ideal.
We are not advocating not BBing – every team is different and you all have your different aims and mini-league situations.
Our Triple Captain is Aguero
All should be clear from the above. Our sudden liking for Kun comes from City now being 100% focused on the league and the general feeling that they will need to beat both Spurs & Manchester United if they are to win the league. Pep plays his big players in the big matches and this is a huge week for City. Just in case, our vice captain is Son. Who plays Brighton. Can’t fail!

Welcome to our Fantasy Football leagues section.
The League Codes for FF247 for the 2018/19 season are as follows –
This is my lot after Deeney and Duffy to Wilson and Masina for -4.
All the love for Aguero has swayed me to him vs Sons potential vs Brighton in the 2nd game. Tbf Aguero usually delivers when he plays.
Dabayo,
starting XI looks great, bench has the potential to deliver….apart from Dunk, obviously!
Cheers Cookie – Dunk will keep that bench warm for the rest of the season
Looks good to go
Last decision Sterling or Aguero for captain? Aguero feels slightly safer because of ownership
Sterling has looked better as of late, it’s coin toss really!
If I was choosing between the two I’d go for Sterling.
Kind of looking at it that Spurs and United have better CBs than fullbacks
..
Haha! Sweet, they’re a bit bitter and, in all honesty, rightly so!! It’s only football lads!! 😆
You think Vartonghen play?
Just assume he will play. Chill out about it.
I found a while ago that trying to second-guess team selection was a mug’s game, caused unnecessary complication and generally was never right anyway.
Why wouldn’t he play, it’s a big game for Spurs?
VARtonghen!
Ahahaa, just thought it was a typo…. Yeah, no Vartonghen to help Spurs today 😆
Surely AlderVARerld does!
Cheapest joke ever, I know
Reports this morning that Sané & Jesus have asked to leave City and Zaha has told Palace he wants offski to play CL footy.
Does Pep play them now or cast them out? Feel like Pep’s the sort of guy to give them the cold shoulder 😆
Well he has a history of casting Sané out – not sure he can afford to do that to Jesus right now.
Tempted to captain KDB. Jesus might get played to appease him!
I wonder if the two events are by any chance related.
Look at Sterling’s progression at City….if Zaha went there and followed a similar improvement path he’d be some player.
Or he’d sit on the bench and follow Mahrez’s path
Yep more than likely.
Mahrez was only ever bought as bench fodder.
Hey guys. Ended the Game week with 37 points. Not as bad a sthe site team but nonetheless bad.
Had the trio of Brighton players and deeney.
Used a FT for Deeney to Gray
Contemplating a -4 to take out Duffy…
Should I stick with him or is a -4 a good option so that I can get a Watford or wolves defender ? If so who would you suggest.
0 itb.
Oh BB is active btw
Depends on your plans for next week and after – in terms of your budget – but Wolves’ defenders are competitively priced. I’ve got Doherty (but also own Duffy and Dunk) Personally I’d leave things, just sit back and let the week unfold.
Thanks Kralin. If I didn’t have Ryan as my GK I would’ve probably left it as it was too. But last week’s debacle is making me seriously reconsider.
Taking Duffy out gives me 4.8 and I could get either Boly or Femina. Leaning more towards Boly since I have no wolves defensive coverage and they could get a CS vs Brighton. (Foster acts as my Watford defensive coverage)
I’m torn since I have to take a -4 hit to get it done and I’m really wondering if it’s worth it.
I have zero confidence in my Brighton players but I don’t hate them enough to take a -4.
I would take the -4 to
get Boly as I have 100% confidence in
Duffy returning nothing.
That’s not to say I’m right & Kralin is wrong, we just think differently on this one.
I’d take the -4. Id prefer to ditch Dunk than Duffy if that can be done. Brighton are not likely to return anything in this double
Morning ! Still pondering my Deeney replacement options.Thoughts on these potential moves.
1.Erikson to Redmond,Deeney to Firmino for -4
2.Deeney to Gray
3 Deeney to Rondon.
Favouring 1 at the moment and BB will be active. What ya reckon ?
Yeah option one there for me
I do like A out of those!
Same as the lads above, Brooky
Brooky,
Loathed to lose Eriksen in front of a DGW, esp for a hit. However Option A could work, esp if you don’t want Salah next week.
Cookie,i’m loathe to lose Erikson but fear him being rested in the Brighton game.I have no money in the bank so Deeney replacements are thin on the ground.Only other option would be to save my transfer and delay bench boost but would still need to downgrade somewhere to raise cash.
As for Salah i think i will be going without him.I cant fit him in without losing Kdb or Son or major surgery to the rest of the team.
I’m thinking Mane instead of Salah next week.
I’m hoping Eriksen comes off the bench for the Brighton game. Having said that, if Spurs lose today they could be in a spot of league bother and so Poch may have to field a stronger side than we’re anticipating.
I wouldn’t be selling Eriksen ahead of a double for a -4 Brooky. And if they lose to City they’ll need that win vs Brighton so resting players won’t be an option I don’t think. Next game is WH at home ahead of the Ajax game so IF a rest is planned perhaps that’s the game to do it. I don’t think resting players makes any sense this close to the end of the season mind.
Sell Deeney to Ings and that’s it is what I’d do here (it’s what I’ve done to mine though so may have a slight bias towards this move).
Hmmm i considered the ings move.cheers
I’ve gone option 2 Brooky
