FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW5
Another green arrow and we’re into the top 100k for the first time this season. 96,136 to be more precise. We finished GW4 with 55pts which was 11 above the average. Once again it was our defence who led the way. Patricio had a clean sheet. Mendy & Robertson both chipped in with assists. While Alonso picked up a clean sheet, an assist and a bonus point. Elsewhere our capo, Kun, weighed in with an assist, Firmino got us a goal, while our new signing Lucas Moura picked up an assist. The rest all flopped, essentially!
Last Week’s Result
What have we done this week?
Possibly lost our marbles?! Possibly not, but time will tell on this one. We had 1 free transfer and £0.9m in the bank. And in all honesty a fair few avenues we could have gone down and a fair few issues we could have dealt with….
We’ve got Stephens and Cairney as our 4th and 5th mids.
We’ve got Mkhitaryan who no longer looks nailed on.
We’ve got Moura with (the) Son looming in his background.
And we’ve got King who we are getting disgruntled with, a feeling his many owners will probably empathize with!
And we’ve got Tomkins and Hamer both possibly injured.
So you know, just less than half the squad with some sort of issue hanging over them………
And so what did our esteemed committee vote to do? Sell Firmino!!!!!!
Why……. you may well ask. Well, I asked, and this is what I got back, verbatim –
“Because we wouldn’t sell him before the Southampton game!” (GW6)
“Our logic gets better by the week!”
“Sturridge will play GW6”
“Everyone seems to think Klopp will make changes for it”
“I don’t see it”
So yeah, erm, yeah! Don’t worry, I’m still none the wiser either. Oh and by the way, the incoming player is Vardy. That one I do understand at least!
One late addition probably went the most way towards explaining it though – “Klopp rotation over the next 6 weeks plus 4 tough fixtures in the next 6. Leicester’s fixtures are better and they won’t rotate”. That one probably nails it best, plus the small gain of £0.6m actually helps a lot towards fixing one or more of our other issues as noted above in the coming weeks.
So to confirm we have – SOLD FIRMINO, BOUGHT VARDY
The Team In Full…
CAPTAIN – AGUERO
This one was much less murky and certainly doesn’t need anywhere near as much explanation. None, in fact. Our new boy Vardy will carry the vice, as we are sure he does often in life, just in case Pep does a Pep on us all.

Best rotating 4.5m keepers at the moment?
Thanks
Don’t know but I’d start with the Wolves guy and take it from there.
Why so?
Patricio / Fabianski have 6 home, 4 away and 1 vs top 6 until GW14.
Patricio / Foster have 6, 4 and 0.
I’m considering McCarthy and Fabianski. Good rotation until 33 with only GW6 being a bad one. Excellent shot-stoppers.
Yeah, by all means I would prefer having two rotating keepers at 4.5m… But the team I want allows me only 8.5m for keepers, so I will play Patricio all the time! Patricio just kept a clean sheet away at West Ham so just goes to show the cleanie or best points for your keeper don’t always come at home, so you’re just going to end up with huge hauls on your bench perhaps as often as on your playing 11! Plus there are always surprise great hauls by these keepers against the top 6 so I think having just one keeper is worth it! The only flip side is if your keeper gets injured, you only have a non-playing 4m on the bench!
Is Seri a decent fpl pick. I’m wildcarding and need a decent playing mid to play sometimes instead of a forward?
Yes, definitely. I’m looking at him, Fraser, Gray and Neves this week.
Fixtures a tad iffy though.
Fraser has good fixtures but is marked as injured I think.
Thanks. I’m looking at this for my wildcard. With Pedro in place for a swap to Richarlison and with hopefully the possibility to move Ings to Mitro soon but that may mean having Bennett instead of Doherty. Thoughts?
This is very close to my WC team! So I like it!! Well done sir!!
Why isn’t there any love for Monreal/Bellerin? Surely for their price they must be considered.
ps – I’m on a sad WC.
What’s a sad WC?
Like Batman and Gotham. My WC team is the one I deserve but not the one I need right now.
How’s your WC looking?
This is me as of now, will get Richarlison back in if not for Arsenal then after that for Pedro most likely!
Probably because they look like a bit of a circus at the back. You’re relying on attacking returns from them at this point and at least with the likes of Mendy, Robertson and Alonso, granted for a touch more investment, you have a fair chance of getting both.
Morning guys, need advice on transfer please!
Current team:
Ederson
WanB/Holebas/Alonso/Robertson
Peryera/Salah/Miki/Wally
Kun/Auba
Speroni/Lowton/Stephens
0ft/ 0.5 itb
Need to take Wally out, thoughts on any replacements? Swaying towards Pedro atm!
Cheers
At Wally’s price range, I don’t see a better replacement than Pedro.
Hello all,
1FT
Ederson
Robertson Alonso Mendy
Salah Mane Walcott* Fraser*
Zaha Aguero King
Boruc Wan-Bissa Stephens Peltier
Do I:
A. Fraser->Neves
B. Walcott-> Pedro, though I would rather have Richa next week for Wally.
C. Other move?
I’d want to do B next week so I’d either do A now or just save, WB might not be a bad option to play/come off the bench this week!
I meant B as in Wally to Richarlison
Cheers Zed. However, if both Wally and Fraser are out and I save FT, it means Dale comes on for a max of 2 points. Any other cheap mid better than Neves?
Not really, I’d be interested in Stanislas but he’s not playing just yet… How much do you have in the bank? For instance, can you afford Schurrle or Pereyra for Walcott this week and then Fraser to Richarlison next week?
Only have 0.5itb. Can do Schurrle for Walcott and Fraser to Richa next week. Problem is that Schurrle meets City.
I think you should make the moves based on long-term rather than just this one week, I reckon Schürrle against City is better than Dale. And City have conceded against Hudds and Newcastle at home already! I have Mitrovic and I’m slightly positive
Soo going for Peltier for Bennett or Doherty?
