FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW7
A big fat green arrow greeted us last week as we jumped over 70k in the rankings and back into the top 100k. We got a total of 68 points which was 16 above the official average but that particular measure is starting to become increasingly unreliable as the weeks go by and dead teams begin to gather up along the way like roadside trash. A better measure now is to look at the top 10k as we can assume most of them are still active, the average in that group was 58.
In terms of our players Patricio returned just about what we expected having lost his clean sheet whilst making a number of saves, just not quite enough! And tellingly 2 less than DDG himself. No such complaints with the rest of our defence as all 4 brought home a clean sheet, albeit with no attacking returns between them. Obi Wan-B proved to be a bonus magnet again, hoovering up all 3 as is becoming his MO.Our midfield proved to be our weakest spot with only Salah bringing anything meaningful. Last weeks transfer was a straight toss up between Fraser and Maddison with the other most likely coming in this week. Fair to say we got that one the wrong way round! The previous weeks transfer had been similarly unsuccessful with Vardy replacing Firmino but it paid off this time with the little scampster getting us 11 points to go alongside Captain Kun’s 12. Our captain choice was looking promising until Pep pulled him part way through the party just as it was coming to life. King had a hard day at the office.
Last Week’s Result
What have we done this week?
Well according to the logic above and also last weeks ‘thinking’ then James Maddison was a sure fire shoe-in. Or was he?! He certainly more than passed the eye test and of course scored again last week. So when we put it to the vote it was somewhat of a surprise that Richarlison suddenly came from nowhere and swept the floor clean with poor James, who may now have to wait another week or so to join our ranks. We can only assume that the panel all witnessed the Arsenal v Everton game last weekend and came to roughly the same conclusion, which was that he also passed said eye test, albeit being unlucky not to have any actual FPL points to show for it. He did indeed look very lively to say the least and the most likely (only?!) from his ranks to score. Plus he also gets a go at Fulham this week who are conceding at a rate of more than 2 a game on average so far.
Who he actually came in for was a separate debate altogether! We have Lucas Moura who, very worryingly for us and his fellow managers, trotted out last night in the Milk Cup. Such ‘Poch’ logic probably points to him seeing the bench against Huddersfield at the weekend. And he represents potential future transfer funds tied up in that case. Upon more careful inspection though we decided to lose Cairney instead as it meant we had a more balanced squad for now, still have the option of King to Mitro next week, or indeed poor old James finally coming in, perhaps for Moura.
To confirm then, we’ve… SOLD Cairney and BOUGHT Richarlison
A lone and sole voice did pop up quietly and pensively however, after the dust had almost just settled on all that, to ask simply, and rightly so, “What’s our Hazard plan then?!”… Perhaps it was because he’d just seen his team knocked out by him with an absolute worldy, (not to name names). Perhaps it was just concern for future planning and the fact that he does indeed look like he’s gone on another level, West Ham performance aside, and that we don’t own him. Either way it’s a pertinent question and not one we have the answer to really as other than losing Salah we are a long road away from being in a position, budget wise, to bring him in. Big sofas with broad backs have been duly ordered until we play our Wildcard…
The Team In Full…
CAPTAIN – AGUERO, VICE CAPTAIN – RICHARLISON
Fortunately this was a tad more straight-forward, as you can probably imagine. Kun at home to anyone usually is, call anyone ‘Brighton on their travels’ and the rest isn’t really worth putting into words.
Just in case Pep Pep’s us we chose Richarlison as our vice.

here is me so far for gw7. i knw its best to hold but i am thinking dilva to bilva/maddison this week and next week do aguero to kane.
any other suggestions fellas?
I would hold but yes, the Maddison manoeuvre will give you a lot of dosh and instead of Kane you could think about introducing Salah to your side.
I’m not overly keen on the Kun to Kane move myself. Is it really much of an upgrade? I’m not sure. Unless of course our ‘Arry gets going again. Kun’ll be good for a few points.
The Maddison Manoeuvre made me chuckle.
Reminds me of our chats in the FFF days…
What happened to FFF?
Chorley had to give it a rest due to personal reasons.
Salad Days. I look back with a rueful grin.
FFF went for a Burton.
Oh William…
cheers kralin.
can eventually do this in the next few gameweek. lacazette seems hot on form atm
Looks hotter than a space capsule in re-entry.
Re Lacazette, given that Rambo’s about to be slung out on his arse, isn’t there some speculation he may drop back a bit? Dunno.
sounds very possible. i could do maddison, firmino and sterling over the next 3 weeks.
Roll that transfer, simply no need to ‘follow the points’ with your Silva hokey kokey! See how this GW pans out and play with 2 next week, you’ll thank me!!
i will keep that in mind rosco. maddi looks tempting but yeah dilva could troll and start saturday.
I think Dilva will start, he was pulled ( oo-er!!) after 60 mins so that is promising. Not that I want to sound biased but I think Saturday will be right for us and Leicester.. who knows we may even get our first win of the season! Hopefully it won’t be another sad Saturday when I leave st james and find my FPL side did shit too!!
true. with ucl looming in 3 days for them, hard to pinpoint if dilva is benched in either the brighton or hoffenheim game.
best of luck for your lads. dont wanna see rafa in more pain
Yeah there’s just no way of knowing with City rotation, but chasing points rarely works out, pick your poison and take the good with the bad!
i do believe dilva will be a part of the game whether he comes off from the bench or starts on saturday. bench cover aint saving me here so i gotta hope he starts and get some returns before being subbed off.
Hold for sure. Not sure why you’re interested in Kane either
cheers mken. no spurs cover and they had quite good fixtures.
It’s hard for Kane to not come into our thinking given Spurs next 2 fixtures, not to mention Kane is the standout captain pick for GW8, but I think it’s not a worthwhile venture in the long run, watch him grab a hatrick this weekend and send us all into a panic! 😉
a huddersfield goal would be nice in a losing state so my top ml rivals dont get much of his points.
+1
What do you thinks?
Salah to fraser
Zaha to kane
-8 point
Balance 2.6 after transfer.
dont fancy the moves hunt. id hold
It’s a big no from me. It would be a risky move even for free, but to spend a -8 and then probably another -4 when you want Sarah back? Just not worth it
I guess you are right rosco/erish. So final say salah and zaha stay. Maybe next weeks i try include kane If possible.
His ownership is 25.4% but I’m not sure that much of that is within the top 100k. I debated long and hard about bringing him in myself but I’ve cane to the conclusion that he offers poor value and I’d ultimately want Salah back in 2 GWs anyway
The funny thing is i am forgot about mendy and stephens status. Should be hard if i do the -8 and having 2 red status player. What wrong with my mind. LoL
Yeah there is that! Haha it’s essy to get distracted by the ‘shiny’ options! I think if Mendy doesn’t play this week we’ll all have to consider shipping him, I’m crossing everything that he’s back this GW, if not it’ll be the high road for him next GW for sure!
Rosco, if you’ve held him this long, regardless of whether he plays this time, surely he’s simply one week nearer to returning next time? That’s of course unless the original ‘I met his brother in a supermarket’ etc rumours were actually true!
If this week passes with no indication of what’s actually going on then he’s a gonner for me. 3GWs is long enough to hold that much value if we litterally have no indication of when he’ll be back.
he has not been pictured in training yet so 80% sure he isnt starting on saturday. seen plenty of transfers out for mendy with monreal/trippier/doherty/shaw coming in as a good replacement.
To add another Mendy view into the mix…
Whether plays this week or not, I’d not be that bothered about playing him away to Liverpool. So the next time I’d actually want him would be 20th October after internationals. Surely he’ll be back in 3 weeks?
That’s a good addition to the mix! Thank you for your kindness (of chipping in with your view)!
Hi guys what do you feel about my team??? I’ve got £1m ITB and 0 FT’s!
Anything urgent needed or hold it out?
Good to go, log out till Saturday!!
Cheers mate
Very good work on the new banner for the site team article
The transfer sucks though :winktongue:
haha thanks RR! Who knows if you have a stellar season you could replace the mighty Horse as next season’s big money signing!
did horse win the regulars league last year?
He did indeed, with an epic OR, hence his inclusion, plus he’s a top bloke so I’d have happily left myself out but luckily there was space to squeeze him in there! Right pain creating that Pompey strip though! 😉
Evening all,
I’m sailing along quite nicely so far this season but the defensive line is looking a little thin for this coming weekend. I could transfer Mendy or Daniels to perhaps play in place of TAA. Or should I be looking to get Richarlison or Mitro in this week or next.
1FT and 0.4itb.
What say you?
Show us your team my good man and we’ll be better placed to advise! 😉
Oops
Hello fellas. Just running my team by you all to get a second opinion. Forgot to do my team last week so I’m extra careful about doing it right this time round. I have already pulled the trigger earlier in the week on Mkhi – Rich. I have 1ft and 3.1m in the bank. I had plans to roll the ft onto the next week and get rid of Walcott then. This sound like a plan? Cheers!
Only transfer I am considering at the moment is Trippier in for Mendy as I haven’t had Mendy for too long. I have a lot of cash to play with.
That would also be a very sensible move and hard to resist.
May as well give him this week and save it. It’s leaky Fulham so you never know. Worlds your oyster next week then with that bank and 2 FT’s! Well, almost, it’s all relative.
There’s no immediate need to make any changes to your team but if Mendy doesn’t play it may be worth adding a bit of weight to your bench
Cheers for the advice lads. Just don’t want to bring in Trippier just to bring Mendy in again in a weeks time. Surely he is out for two week though where Spurs have their best fixtures. I might pull the trigger on this one and get him in.
Maybe bring in Trippier for Chambers as Fulham look poor at the back. Would still leave me with cash to change Walcott next round for any mid under 8m
