Welcome to FF247 FPL Pre-Season Hub 2023-24
Now that we are at the end of June (I know, right?), we will have to turn our attention to what our Premier League clubs have up their sleeves in terms of pre-season preparations for the forthcoming 2023-24 Premier League season.
Most clubs return for initial health checks with training following around the 5th – 8th of July mark with additional time off given for those playing late into the final international break and even longer for those at the UEFA Under-21 tournament.
Pre-season friendlies themselves, begin around the 10th – 12th July.
We have listed below a run-down of the fixtures arranged at the time of publication which will be updated with additional fixtures when announced.
As in previous seasons, each team will have a comment attached to this article where match information will be posted to act as a living record of how their pre-season is progressing. This will contain score, scoring, assist and team line-up information and indeed, any other salient information deemed FPL-appropriate to assist us ahead of the new season.

Advice please.
I set up a private fpl league for me and some mates – how do I go about changing the start of the gameweek for the cup?
You change the start date before creating the league, Hammers
Oh wait sorry I misunderstood. You can’t change the cup start date only league dates
oh right.
I created a league, so far there are 2 of us, and the cup starts in gw37.
If more are added, will the cup gw go back gameweeks?

I am looking forward to someone posting a haaland free team. He was the 1st player in mine (and most others I am sure) but out of interest what are peoples expectations?
If he has the same as last year its 19.42 per million which is unreal. But can we expect another 36 goals? Surely not.
I think if he got 30 it’s still worth it has he can go big at any given time.
Just with my points per mill if salah scores the same it’s 19.12, and he definitely wasn’t at his best for large parts of the season.
The strikers, aside from Haaland and perhaps Kane and Jesus, aren’t particularly appetising this year
. Nkunku could be very interesting, but that depends on how Chelsea get going.
I put together a no-Haaland squad earlier, which allows for Salah, TAA, Bruno, Saka et al. but up front it looks light (even with Jesus leading the line) It’s all about the mids (and Haaland) this year! If Kane goes to Bayern that’ll definitely help a bit so there’d be one fewer premium to worry about!
I’ve put in Ferguson and Mitro for the moment. Sort of covers a few price points and they’re not bad.
I mean as strikers alongside Haaland.
8m for Jesus would be ideal for the price point. If he gets injured it’s easy to move to anyone else and allows an upgrade elsewhere. Of the cheapies, I like the Wissa option. Only 6m and no Toney around to lead the line

Don’t like the balance in it, playing 3-5-3? Your bench is going to be weak but a good starting 11.
3-4-3 should I say.
Yes 3-4-3 was the plan but I may experiment with a 3-5-2 to see what happens and if it has advantages. Lots of time to tinker.
