Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW38

We scored 53 points in GW37 which was apparently 10 points better than the overall average and helped us to a small green arrow. Small mercies and all that, but in all honesty we probably needed something more if we are to finish the season with any respectability.

Basically we were indebted to our defence and West Ham for our score – clean sheets from TAA, Dallas and Digne contributed 19 points, whilst Lingard assisting Antonio late on gave us 16 points. Eight points from Captain Bruno was fortunate to say the least given he didn’t even touch the ball! Sadly we left Watkins and his 9 points on the bench. The rest were hopeless and they are lucky there is only one gameweek left.

We enter the final gameweek ranked 221,412. Inside the top 200k would probably now be the alerted season target.

Our GW37 Result…

Let’s go see what was decided…

Our GW38 Transfer(s)

With 2 free transfers in hand we should be feeling good going into the gameweek. However with Solskjaer threatening mass rotation ahead of the Europa final (we have 3 United), Jota injured and Digne and DCL up against City at the Etihad we had some tough choices to make.

We have made three transfers, selling Bruno, Jota and DCL and buying Salah, Raphinha and Bamford. A 4 point hit has been taken but we are happy to roll the dice one more/last time, fully expecting Liverpool and Leeds to see off Palace and West Brom comfortably.

To confirm then we have:

SOLD BRUNO FERNANDES, DIOGO JOTA & DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN and BOUGHT MOHAMED SALAH, RAPHINHA & PATRICK BAMFORD

Captain – MOHAMED SALAH

The obvious, if slightly boring choice but as we know boring is normally effective in FPL. Our vice captain, if required is Patrick Bamford.

  1. 63 points ahead in my mini league lads. Final day and winner takes all have 1 ft and .1 in the bank. Below is my team and my opponents team from last GW.

Anyone any noticeable things I should do?

Thanks for all the help all year!

  2. Who would you rather own this week ? Raphina or Bamford ?

  3. It’s squeaky bum time people. I’ve got a 4 point cushion over the fella behind me and I need to beat him.

Play 343 and just do Shaw and Bruno to Raph and Dallas. Saves the hit but leaves me very light on the bench.

Or take the hit to do Pereira out too and put one of the strikers on the bench 352. That’s basically where I’m sitting right now. help

    • Watkins has the hardest fixture of your strikers but has been in reasonable form. Greenwood seems expected to start but remember it is a much weakened team. I think I’d ship Shaw and Bruno and leave it at that

      Good luck

      • So the 343 and just hope I don’t need the bench? Cheers Dreamers

        • Whats majorly wrong with the bench Matt. Pereira is on 75% and White will play wont he?

          BUt ya id go 3:4:3

        • Pereira is not playing, no chance of that! White will play but probably only get 1 point. Greenwood might not even play we are just assuming/hoping he will

    • Matt,

I would go with the moves you have suggested pal and don’t worry about the bench. Certainly don’t give away your 4 point lead without a ball being kicked.

  4. Final decision time. 13 points of 10k. Do I do a -4 with Shaw to Robbo and bench rudiger? Prob would need a goal or assist to make it worthwhile. Worth the gamble?

    • That’s a nice looking side so I’d leave it

    • not worth the hit for a defender, I’m 13pts off 10k too, I’m considering a hit for a forward but I’m still ont convinced.

I wouldn’t do it for a defender definitely

    • Don’t gamble. Go as is. good

  5. Play Pickford or Forster guys? Expect both to concede

  6. Transfers done, am I gtg? Areola over Martinez?
