Game-week 3 FPL TipsWelcome to the FF247 Site Team Game-week 3 FPL Tips article. A quick revisit to GW2 and we had a decent week scoring 71 points, which was predominantly due to our forwards’ performances – Andre Gray, Zlatan and Captain Kun all did the business with Antonio Valencia’s clean sheet our only other real contribution – sadly we left Gareth McAuley on the bench! Bizarrely, despite beating the average score of 57, we still saw red arrows, but we are well used to them by now, so all is good. Our rank is 46,697 which we are pleased with and we have two free transfers to waste.

Transfer decision: we have sold Roberto Firmino and bought Ross Barkley and held a transfer.

So Firmino has gone for his Merseyside counterpart, who has begun the season with a goal and an assist, seems to be enjoying life under Ronald Koeman and Everton’s fixtures now look promising on paper which we have probably just jinxed for them. Firmino can consider himself slightly unlucky to be given just two matches but with Andre Gray facing a potential ban we felt it wise to raise a bit of cash in case we need to replace Gray soon.

Our captain is Sergio Aguero and vice-captain is Zlatan Ibrahimovic

How one splits them we don’t know, both are great choices for this week and indeed most weeks. We have gone with the home player, Aguero, who has scored in eight of his last nine league matches and loves to score at the Etihad.

The only other decision we had to make was whether to play Pape Souare or Gareth McAuley – we plumped for Souare purely on the grounds that we have Ben Foster in goal and weren’t keen on doubling up on West Brom.

As usual, a good write up, short and to the point, and well on time so we can all pick each others thoughts for GW3. Anyone else feeling uneasy going without Firmino?
I have also just traded him for Barkley due to fixtures, but with Origi and Coutinho out I can see good chances for Firmino. Granted, Spurs have a very good defense but Klopp’s heavy metal style will still be applied here…

Won’t Studge be back now which can eat into Firminho’s advanced positions?
I could be wrong but i thought Firminho wasn’t so prolific when Studge plays.

      • RedPaddy says:

I fully expect Studge to hog the glory and goals but isn’t this the same thing that could happen with Lukaku & Barkley

        • photek says:

          yeah true, could well be.
The difference i think is like Silva and Kun historically, Barkley and Luka work well together whereas i see Firminho and Studge both going for the same points if that makes sense.

Thanks Photek. Strangely I think I understand what you mean (I think…) the dynamic between Luka & Barkley is more complimentary than that of Studge & Firmino. More likely the former couple will tend towards one assisting the other while the latter, most probably will want to outdo each other. Let’s see…I shall watch both games.

Hello all and wish you luck in GW3

I have 0 FT and seems like Coutinho may not play. Is it woth a -4 hit or just stick it out?

Ok guys. Final thoughts before tomorrow. I am currently on WC, as I made the smart move from Wickham to Caroll before the Monday game, so had to act quickly in order to avoid the value damage.

I have made 6 transfers in ttl. Still sitting on 1.1 m in the bank and it is burning a hole in my pocket, but I think I will keep them and maybe go Lamela > Coutinho (if he drops 0.1 m) next week.

I will only go Amat to a 3.9 m defender if someone drops in price tonight in order to free up cash, as I don’t intend to play Amat anyway.

    Kun as captain.

    Any other ideas?
