Our 2025/26 Finished Overall Rank and Recent History

Our 2nd worst season rank last year but at least we did better. Back inside the top 1 million rank and a top 6% finish. Hopefully we can improve on that again this year and get back into the height we reached previously.

Initial Set Up

In order for us to get this higher rank and start off on the right foot, we have decided to be bold. We have decided to be aggressive. We have decided to just go for it from the off and with that in mind we are playing our BENCH BOOST in GW1. There are a lot of managers thinking of doing this strategy this season so we aren’t exactly coming up with anything novel but it is using a chip which could go either way.

There are no 4.0 starting keepers this season so a 4.5 combo is the choice. We have largely gone template. Verbruggen and Kinsky are the ideal pair at that price both with new defensive signings in front of them and some nice rotation, we think they can help us in the long run.

The biggest question this season was Haaland vs Bruno vs Both. We have settled with both and built around them. With Man United having the sweetest opening two fixtures and Haaland being Haaland then it is just asking for us to go for the most expensive two in the game.

Yes, Man City have lost the bald genius and replaced him with a balder knock-off so there will very likely be a drop off from the side. Haaland is a goal scoring maniac though so still should do very well in front of goals. Maybe Maresca will just revert to “Give the ball to Haaland” as his only tactic compared to his tactical predecessor.

DCL and Joao Pedro are the FPL community template but they are so for very good reason. Great abilities, fit into budget perfectly and are proven assets. You can see the other picks but where we have maybe veered slightly different is the picks of the Kadioglu and Rodon. Both are solid options. One for defcon and the other for attacking threat. We are slightly worried about the formers minutes after Brighton’s European exploits, along with GroS but we are hoping they both see enough minutes to return for us.

Captain was the obvious assist record maker, Bruno Fernandes, against newly promoted Hull City.
