We pre-released our team on Wednesday evening, suggesting that we were just going to make one change. However, as you know, rumours of a hamstring injury to Chelsea striker Diego Costa were beginning to surface, hence we needed to wait for today’s press conferences to clarify the situation with him and indeed everyone in our squad after a busy week of Champions League, Capital One Cup and Europa League action. Jose Mourinho confirmed that Costa is “a big doubt” for the game vs Everton and hence we have decided to sell him, despite the injury not believed to be as serious as first thought. We could have benched him, but we have decided instead to buy Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge. This is a move not just for GW3 but for the medium term as Liverpool have a great run of fixtures coming up and we had no cover from them. For a team that has become free scoring, we felt cover in this area would be essential sooner rather than later and Costa’s injury presented us with the excuse to invest in Liverpool.
To supplement Sturridge we needed to raise 1mln and so we had to use our 2nd free transfer and we have sold Joel Ward and bought Newcastle’s Paul Dummett. We explained our preference for the Newcastle defence on Wednesday and although we would have preferred Daryl Janmaat, price dictated that Dummett was our only option.
Stevan Jovetic remains our captain for this week, with Gylfi Sigurdsson the vice captain.

We’d like to bring you news of two transfers we have made today!
Brought in Dummet earlier today as well. You reckon Chambers will start? He’s my first player on the bench.
I’d reckon it’s 50-50 for Chambers
If he doesn’t start he’ll be a 1 pointer (at most).
Our thinking is that if he doesn’t start he’s unlikely to come on.
The Besiktas game doesn’t agree with you. 😉

Shrugs, you should be correct. Besiktas game should be a fluke (or however you call it). Think Debuchy got a red card? Odd ref. Arsenal were terrible in the first game and looked shaky in the second leg at home. Really don’t see them as contenders this season.
Correct meaning only reason Chambers came on was because of a red card. Think he replaced Ozil (whom also has been nothing but terrible).
why would he start?
On that note, you reckon Albrighton will start or get more minutes this GW?
Yes I think Albrighton will at least get some game time if not start. Always thought he played well when he got game time at Villa.

Didn’t really want to play mine yet but got fooled by total FPL. Looked like 5 of my players were going down so had to pull the trigger
If I kept my head last week I’d be in the top 5k. Sometimes you just ”want” to make changes. Even if it messes up your planning. I’d have 2 freaking ft’s for this GW had I not used it. Think people with a lack of emotions are best at playing this game.
I would play Dummett over Hutton this GW
On that note, I think both Villa and Newcastle are more likely to keep a CS than Arsenal. Also, from the promoted teams Leicester have been looking the best by a long shot. Just bad luck with their first fixtures.

Dummett might be a loss on the bench. Suspect Kolorov might start so might not matter. Seb Larsson is interesting. Seems to have started well
Yeah that’s why I had dummet as 1st sub. Would you stick with Larson or swap to 3-4-3 and play Naismith instead
Id play Larsson over Naismith. I might play Dummett over Larsson though.
This might seem a bit mad considering his price and fixture, but I’d be worried about benching Naismith considering the form he’s in! It may only be the third week but still, he’s the top scoring striker for goodness sake! I’d start him over Larson.
Also I agree with the others with the dummet/Hutton debate, but I’d keep Hutton as you’re first sub as he’s not got too had a fixture, and clichy is a little unlikely to start. IMO, kolorov will be preferred for this game.

Do I bring in Aguero and Dummet for Costa and Lovren? Already have too much Chelsea with Hazard and Fab. Would be taking 4 point hit though
No to Aguero until he gets more gametime for me
Smash – There’s no guarantee that Aguero will start but as we’ve seen he doesn’t need to start to score.
I’m considering putting the two players in but I’m very, very cautious to.
I know if I buy Aguero, Costa will start and score, and if I keep Costa Aguero will score!!
Hi all- any changes to this lineup? Going to risk Costa, but would you switch the defenders around? I have 2FTs, so could use one and still keep 2 for the international break. Might just trade Zamora out before his price drop if there’s nothing more urgent this week. (Clyne in for Terry?)
