Finalised Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW3

Fantasy Football 247 FPL TeamWe pre-released our team on Wednesday evening, suggesting that we were just going to make one change. However, as you know, rumours of a hamstring injury to Chelsea striker Diego Costa were beginning to surface, hence we needed to wait for today’s press conferences to clarify the situation with him and indeed everyone in our squad after a busy week of Champions League, Capital One Cup and Europa League action. Jose Mourinho confirmed that Costa is “a big doubt” for the game vs Everton and hence we have decided to sell him, despite the injury not believed to be as serious as first thought. We could have benched him, but we have decided instead to buy Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge. This is a move not just for GW3 but for the medium term as Liverpool have a great run of fixtures coming up and we had no cover from them. For a team that has become free scoring, we felt cover in this area would be essential sooner rather than later and Costa’s injury presented us with the excuse to invest in Liverpool.
To supplement Sturridge we needed to raise 1mln and so we had to use our 2nd free transfer and we have sold Joel Ward and bought Newcastle’s Paul Dummett. We explained our preference for the Newcastle defence on Wednesday and although we would have preferred Daryl Janmaat, price dictated that Dummett was our only option.
Stevan Jovetic remains our captain for this week, with Gylfi Sigurdsson the vice captain.

    Hi guys
I’ve been sick all week, but can’t miss a week of fpl so here I am today! I hope to be online more consistently as the school year starts (!) lol! But don’t wory, I’ll only be online when all my homework’s done. Unless it’s a Friday. Anyway…
I’ve not been keeping up with price changes and have already lost team value!! Not good.
So thoughts on these two transfers? No Chelsea defense scares me but I plan to fix that next week. Somehow.

Something I do like is I can sell any of my strikers for a straight swap for costa when he’ll inevitably back next week. Problem is if he’s still fit this week and it’s just mourinho’s mind games. Ah we’ll see.

    Any replies appreciated!

@Danirao, it was a simple look at the fixtures at the start of the season that made us lean that way. Obviously it hasn’t worked out well, but another game or two considering their fixtures is probably the mindset if they can’t get a clean sheet by then, then a change might be in the cards assuming there are no other pressing needs.

Hello! Could you please give me suggestions on my wildcard team? Was thinking about upgrading Cattermole – maybe by downgrading Clyne and/or Roberton.

Please rate this? Used my Ft on Costa – Balotelli. What should I look to do in the next few weeks?
    Thanks

Lack of Man City or Chelsea coverage is a worry.

Depending on how Balotelli starts his Liverpool career, I would try to raise funds to upgrade either he or Sturridge to Aguero. To do this I would downgrade Rooney (and hold Mata as Utd coverage). Remy might be an interesting way into the Chelsea side if that move comes to fruition. But consider moves to get a player from each of Liverpool, Chelsea, City and Arsenal sooner as later.
