Finalised Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW3

Fantasy Football 247 FPL TeamWe pre-released our team on Wednesday evening, suggesting that we were just going to make one change. However, as you know, rumours of a hamstring injury to Chelsea striker Diego Costa were beginning to surface, hence we needed to wait for today’s press conferences to clarify the situation with him and indeed everyone in our squad after a busy week of Champions League, Capital One Cup and Europa League action. Jose Mourinho confirmed that Costa is “a big doubt” for the game vs Everton and hence we have decided to sell him, despite the injury not believed to be as serious as first thought. We could have benched him, but we have decided instead to buy Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge. This is a move not just for GW3 but for the medium term as Liverpool have a great run of fixtures coming up and we had no cover from them. For a team that has become free scoring, we felt cover in this area would be essential sooner rather than later and Costa’s injury presented us with the excuse to invest in Liverpool.
To supplement Sturridge we needed to raise 1mln and so we had to use our 2nd free transfer and we have sold Joel Ward and bought Newcastle’s Paul Dummett. We explained our preference for the Newcastle defence on Wednesday and although we would have preferred Daryl Janmaat, price dictated that Dummett was our only option.
Stevan Jovetic remains our captain for this week, with Gylfi Sigurdsson the vice captain.

Debuchy is nailed on. Which 3 should I start among the remaining 4?

      newbie move, forgot the bench

Maybe upgrade Berahino to Rooney and downgrade Silva?

      • Masden

Sorry but I feel you need reinforcement in attack. Naismith and Berahino will sooner or later find themselves out of their sides.

Spread your funds a bit better and maybe downgrade Silva or Ivanovic to get Berahino up to Adebayor or Bony.

+1. If Aguero gets injured (which he will) then your attack is very lightweight

I beg to differ – all those midfielders are sound. It’s still unclear which strikers will do best, and Aguero looks the best bet for now. So play 3-5-2 or even sometimes 4-5-1 and then perhaps in GW4 or GW5 make a double-swap to strengthen upfront and downgrade elsewhere if Berahino or Naismith aren’t working out. Plus, as another option, there are several other budget strikers like Ulloa, Nugent and Bojan who could be brought in if they’re doing well.

Final team for this week, how does it look? Costa only missing 1 GW meant I didn’t have to take a hit to replace him.
