FPL launch 2016/17 – New Rules and Player Pricelist
Finally it is live! FPL is back, life as we know it will not be the same for the next 10 months! At first glance there seems little change to last season – budget and squad size is naturally the same and the four chips remain in place, including the two wildcards – one to be used in the first half of the season, the other to be used in the second half of the season. The first may not be carried over – so use it or lose it. The only change seems to be in the calculation of bonus points – a breakdown of which can be found under the Rules tab.
With less than a month to go before the start of the season, managers will be busily playing with different formations and strategies, so to help you on your way, let’s take a very brief look at some of the highlights of the price list for the players.
Players Price List – initial reaction
The most expensive player (as per usual!) is Sergio Aguero who again costs 13mln, while the success last season of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez sees their prices rocket to eliminate their bargain status! Nolito and Anthony Martial being listed as midfielders may attract decent support. Zlatan Ibrahimovic comes in at 11.5mln to make him the second most expensive player while Diego Costa costs just 9.5mln, making him cheaper than Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy. Daley Blind are Chris Brunt are now listed as defenders, while Eric Dier is now listed as a midfielder.

Evening folks, here we go with a round up of the FF247 leagues and cup.
FF247 worldwide league with every man and his dog in, oh and Raz.
1— “The Champs” 2503pts for Jon Pears.
1— “Benjamin Buttons” 2503pts for Ben Pearson.
3— “Jatin United” 2501pts for Jatin Artula.
4— “IceJJFishFishFeng” 2494pts for Joshua Feng.
5— “GForce Allstars” 2494pts for Mervyn Glasgow.
Well with 9171 entrants in this league ( my 1114 don’t look bad at all ) it finished with a tie between Jon and Ben with 3rd only pts away for Jatin. 4th + 5th being Joshua and Mervyn. This league is for people who lurk at our site but as you can see a bigger percentage don’t register or post. Prizes are awarded by @FootballFanager for this league. Only the winner has been in touch with FF247, so could the other 4 please mail the site asap. Thanks.
FF247 Doubles league.
1— “Scouse Jock + Yorkie” with 2322pts for Elle, GP + NZ.
2— “North London Or Bust” with 2294pts for Mitro and Pancho.
3— “The Flying Squirrels” with 2271pts for FPL Twitter Community.
This league is formed just for fun between the regulars on site, although it is well contested, we could do with a few more teams next season, Milburn get hold of Rosco. Myself, GP + NZ formed our team as we were chatting all week about the community team, pushed all the way by our North London pair of Mitro + Pancho, wonder if Mitro talked Pancho into taking lots of hits ? 3rd were our friends from the twitter community who also had a good season.
H2H Regulars league.
1— “Hoe” with 77pts (2347pts total score) for Dean Pokorny.
2— “Totally Hammered” with 76pts(2165pts total score) for Jay Louis.
3— “Kaunas” with75pts (2184pts total score) for Tomas Mureika.
This league was also fiercely contested and as you can see only 2pts separated the top 3. On site 2 of these are, X117 (Dean) , Tomass4 (Tomas) but unfortunately i can’t find a site name for Jay. If you read this Jay pop on site and give us your user name.
Regulars Cup Final
Top Gun 93 v 88 Wholsronaldo.
Come christmas the top 64 of the Regulars league are entered into the cup. This is played over the 2nd half of the season until we arrive at the final in gw38. What can i say, the 2 that ended up in said final have had a great season and Top Gun (Imran Butt, user name bboy) managed to oust Wholsronaldo (Owen Gilligan, user name Wholsronaldo) by 5pts. Well done lads.
FF247 Regulars league.

Prizes for this league were also given, as follows :-

The Regs league was probably the best contested on site as all were regular posters so this produced good banter all season. All 5 had a brilliant season racking up great OR and producing some oustanding points totals. As you can see 1st + 4th have a cause for extra celebration as the reached the cup final aswell. Owen winning the league and Imran winning the cup. Could the winners e-mail FF247 please, to get your dosh.
So its the end of another season but not the end of fantasy footy, as there are plans being made for the U21 Euros, so stick around. Its been a cracking 9 months with all of us having highs and lows, great articles ( thanks to all the writers ) but most of all great banter from the 4 corners of the world and its all made a great community, thanks to one and all, see you in July when fantasy premier league starts again.

Thanks Elle, terrific round up. Had a few emails come in but not many. 3 to be exact! I’ll put this on hold until I’m back from hols then to give people a chance to respond / claim. I’m back on the 5th June. Let’s call the 6th the cut off for any claims and then I’ll recalibrate the positions and prizes and pay out accordingly.
We need to be more prescriptive next season in relation to what qualifies a regular as a regular as well. We all know what it means but without saying it from the off it’s a bit iffy. Nobody has contested anything so it’s nothing controversial, I’m just saying.
