Hello everyone, hope all is fine with you and your teams.
I just wanted to air my concern at the childish behaviour of some of our footballers, when playing for a coach with whom they don’t really get on. As a non free-hitter, who reluctantly kept onto his Everton assets (2 normally very good players, DCL & Gray) expecting around 2 pts each (I was not overly disappointed because of this), I thought I might check out the match to see how they were getting along, and apart from the score, was really concerned by their on-field attitude. I mean, they looked as if they were playing an in-form Manchester City outfit, so much they were made to look like amateurs – with absolutely no engagement, cohesion or so it seemed, footballing skills! A term escaped from my mouth, which I am unable to repeat here, but which contains many of the same letters (save 2) as ‘Worker’! That’s how they appeared to me, a foreign football appreciating neutral – and I can’t imagine what the impressions of real fully paid up Everton members may have been! I mean, people have shelled out their hard earned savings to become regulars of this once proud club, to be served such a pathetic spectacle by players who earn in one month what most real workers may earn in a lifetime! It was a disgrace! And for pundits to somewhat complacently say was a symptom that Benitez would soon be sacked was quite scandalous. These spoilt brats disagree with the manager and see the best solution is to behave in a most infantile manner, in order to expedite their guvn’ah’s sacking ! The term that came to my mind I feel, was quite appropriate. It’s also tantamount to the theft of Everton supporters’ annual subscriptions, on a grand scale! Then lay the blame on the team manager!!! Quelle honte!
End of rant! I don’t know if what I have written is coherent or not, but my immediate FPL plans are to get rid of these clowns ASAP!
Bye for now all – sorry Init, I laid it on a bit thick about a club that you undoubtedly love, but still… Adios amigos! 😉 AJW

PS – I should mention that this rant is not aimed at the only shining light in the Toffees team yesterday, ie. courageous little Anthony Gordon, who must have felt a little strange in the showers afterwards!

      inittowinit says:

So what you mean really is that you bought some Everton players because they were playing Norwich and you’re now a bit disappointed at them?! rofl

      • AJW says:

Not at all Init – really felt bad for Everton faithfulwwho must feel so ripped off right now – very childish way to express discontent at expense of paying fans

        • inittowinit says:

More fool them if they travelled all the way to Norwich to support….what?

        • Kralin says:

Norwich isn’t just about football and staring on despondently as your side produces one of its most dismal displays in 50 odd years. I’m sure Toffee fans were also visiting attractions like the Colman’s Mustard Shop and Museum, making sure to buy something tasty to take home.

AJW – these Toffee assets we have will be fantasy gold soon – new manager bounce and all that. Gold, I tell you.

        • inittowinit says:

They probably will be if they make the right appointment. Make the wrong one and they’ll have one less fan. And I imagine I won’t be the only one. Although I doubt many will be as brave as to do what I’m on the verge of!

        • Kralin says:

It’ll be fine Innit. Why not come out as gay at the same time?

        • inittowinit says:

I’d have no problem doing so if I was but I’m not. But I get your point. And I’ll stand by mine.

        • AJW says:

Thanks guys – didn’t want to start a sterile debate, but I have to admit , as assets are concerned, I was really resigned to these 2 getting only 2 pts each (while obviously hoping for more!), so was not surprised by their FPL output, but really shocked when I thought that the (lack of..) quality of their play vs Norwich was because they purposefully chose to play badly in some immature reaction to their manager. I guess even if it was an away match, many Everton fans would feel horribly betrayed, as they not only pay for season tickets, but subscribe to pay TV coverage. Anyway, I know that players from many clubs react like this in such circumstances, but I still think it’s extremely childish and an insult to paying fans, hence my use of the word that rhymes with
‘sheep-shankers’, ‘tankers’ or ‘Ravi Shankas’ (but wouldn’t want to insult the late Sitar maestro!). Hope you’re fine and just to let you know that FPL-wise, I’m actually having a reasonable GW!
          Speak to you soon!
P.S. Kralin, isn’t their a Delia-dedicated tourist attraction in Norwich? Maybe they could have book-signings for visiting fans in the on-ground shop? Or some sort of ‘Delia welcomes you to Norwich’ with special scone recipes on the match programmes? The sky’s the limit really!

        • AJW says:

Oh no! It’s too early in the morning to write coherently!
          ‘Isn’t THERE a Delia….’
Gosh, I’m so ashamed at my phonetic spelling! I’ll soon be joining Rafa on the dunghill of recently deposed ‘wannabes’! smile

        • Kralin says:

Dunno about a Delia theme park, maybe there is, perhaps combined with Edith Cavell and W.G.Sebald attractions.

I haven’t been to Norwich in years though came within 40 odd miles last weekend, driving through Rutland on the A47. But I was thinking more of the pleasant landscape around me (and of the Ichthyosaur).

      • AJW says:

Oh was Edith Cavell from Norwich too? That perhaps explains the ‘Belgian connection’ mentioned yesterday, but although we’re talking about Norwich, I think that was in relation to Everton! Hahaha – what comes around, goes around (or perhaps the opposite?). It’s minus 4° celsius here in sunny France – and soon we’ll be reliving scenes from ‘Winter in the Somme’! Cheerio – must ‘scape to work! 😉

Anyone think that Coutinho is a good shout?
I brought in Mount this week for the doubles, and maybe considering swapping him out.
Will Coutinho start at the weekend – if the game goes ahead obviously? Never know these days!!!
