FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 33
Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 33
We arrive at Gameweek 33 and it’s yet another big doubler with no less than 7 teams appearing twice across the next six days.
We start shortly with Tottenham hosting a Brighton side fresh from a creditable win in this neck of the North London woods. This would be a big statement from Spurs over Arsenal in the race for fourth if they comfortably take care of Brighton as they did Villa.
At 3pm, we have games at Manchester United; who play Norwich, Southampton; who welcome Arsenal and Watford who host Brentford.
There is no Saturday evening game in the league as attention turns to Manchester City v Liverpool Part II, this time in the FA Cup semi final, which was supposed to be later but has been brought forward due to travel issues for both sets of supporters.
I’m sure FPL can take a back seat for one evening.
Sunday brings us simultaneous kick offs at 2.15pm. At Newcastle, who play Leicester and at The London Stadium where Burnley are West Ham’s visitors. Again, FA Cup semi final action – this time Chelsea v Crystal Palace – takes centre stage at 4.30pm.
There is no action on Monday but Tuesday brings us Liverpool v Manchester United at Anfield.
We have four matches on Wednesday headlined by a London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. Everton play Leicester and Newcastle have Crystal Palace at home at the same time. Then fifteen minutes later Manchester City kick off against Brighton at the Etihad to respond to whatever Liverpool have come up with the night before.
The gameweek ends with Burnley v Southampton on Thursday which is the proverbial damp squib.
The games in full…

FPL FIXTURE TRACKER
The highs and lows of FPL. Minutes after my C Saka scores a penalty (soft one) and I never expected him to be penalty taker, Lacazette comes on for like 12 seconds to block my Iheanacho points.
So….Mount over Havertz now after today’s game? Or….does Mount playing 90+ and Lukaku looking crap again (Ramsdale had more touches!) mean Havertz is now the better option for 34??
Another question which impacts question 1 massively….Mateta vs WAT or Joao Pedro vs cry/EVE for dgw36?
So …with an eye on 34 & 36 ….
1-Havertz & Mateta
2-Mount & Pedro
i have the same exact dilemma havertz or mount.. I am leaning Havertz for now. Think he ll start again.
No idea J pedro or Mateta.. dont expect anything from these 2
Cheers Reg …I’ve been planning Havertz for a while and never really wanted Mount …whenever I’ve had him he always blanks for long periods. Having said that, his form, price, importance to the team & point projections are all in his favour.
What’s making you pick Havertz?
Yeah I’m not expecting much from either too tbh, but who’d you expect more points from in GW36? Pedro could also be Nketia if he stays in the team with a point to prove …although that would involve shifting White out too
Same as you. When i put mount, he seems to blank. Havertz more direct goal threat. Though he is bit up and down. Could score a brace or blank 2 or 3 in a row.
Kane to Werner and White to Laporte 4ph?
Sounds decent ….think both are pretty nailed and capable of more points given I’m not keen on Spurs dgw36! Kane/White are probably more nailed though so depends what your team/plans are
Spurs just look a bit off the boil, though both teams will be fighting for that 4th spot. May use FH in 36…no clue when to use BB. I keep forgetting I have it lol.
Whats the rest of your team bees?
Thanks Rvp…not sure whether to play Ramsdale or Dubravka…NOR no longer the walk in the park they used to be.
.1 mib 1FT.
The Kane to Werner move sounds a decent shout as you already have Kulu and Son.. I’d play Dubravka
I don’t really like it
I just feel like I need to do something to move up. I have been stuck for quite a while. I think both MC and CHE will do well with upcoming weeks.
Currently have Son and Kulu as well. What are your moves this week Smash?
What to do this week!!!

Any advice??
My thoughts
A) Maddison, Telles and Broja out for Mount, Alonso and 4.5 striker -8) could be -4 without Alonso
B) Maddison and Broja out for Havertz and Gelhardt
C) Anything else (ignore Chelsea and save)
B for me mate.. assuming Gelhardt is just bench fodder and an enabler
Maybe A) Smasher. If you go for a – 8 with Alonso, then I’ll jump too!
Am gonna get in Mount, but was really tempted by Havertz up until you guys mentioned his new positional role with Werner up front.
Hmm, it’s bloody difficult and I imagine that if you are hesitating, then it’s normal that we are too! See you mate. 😉
Do you reckon Christensen might play regularly, as I’m about sixpence short of Alonso + Mount!
Oops, just saw Christensen had an injury worry.
A for me. I think it is time to go for it. Will be doing so myself.
Leaning towards A. Should pay off after a few GWs.
Hey Guys
Would you go Mendy or Alonso for chelsea defence cover this week?
Obviously Alonso has the biggest upside pointswise, but also the biggest rotation risk
Stuck picking between havertz & mount too!
Thanks
Alonso. There isn’t much threat to his position. Sarr was shocking last night
Will go with Mount as he’ll probably be taking set pieces??
Alonso
Thanks guys. Alonso and Mount combo it is then
