Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 4

And we go again with yet another Friday night deadline. This time it is Luton’s Kenilworth Road making its Premier League debut, with West Ham the victors visitors.

We have an early game on Saturday with new-look Everton (they have an actual centre-forward for the 1st time in about 2 years!) going to Sheffield United at 12.30pm.

Four games at 3pm this week for Simon and the gang with Brentford v Bournemouth, Spurs at Burnley, Chelsea hosting Forest and Man City hammering Fulham.

The late one at 5.30pm promises to be a cracker as Brighton welcome Newcastle.

Three games on Sunday to see us out with a pair at 2pm as Palace host Wolves and Villa go to Liverpool. Arsenal and Man United then see us out at 4-30pm.

Don’t forget that that is then it for a couple of weeks as we enter the International Break.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 4 from all at FF247!

    1. Wildcard
    2. 4 point hit – Bruno to Maddison and Mitoma to Mbuemo
    3. 1 FT Mitoma to Mbuemo or Bruno to Maddison?

I’d just do Bruno to Madison. Mitoma is always dangerous and Brighton can score against anyone. I didn’t watch Chelsea this weekend but if Stirling is reverting to his inconsistent self after that one amazing first half from the weekend before, then it would be him I’d be dropping for Mbuemo. Not for a -4, but maybe one to consider soon.
      Solid team though.

Despite the season not starting off great on my end, I am already missing FPL and can’t wait for the international break to be done LOL

Didn’t get to watch much football this weekend.
Any thoughts from you fantasy gurus on the following 3 potential Chins and Bellies transfer targets?:

Salah: Is he going to stay? Did he play well?
Stirling: Did he look as dangerous as the first half the week before, or is he back to being Mr Inconsistent?
Foden: Same question as Stirling. Is Alvarez looking more dangerous/ consistent?

    Thanks all.

I think salah will stay until Xmas, but been offered 200ml could change that fast.

Sterling and all of Chelsea looked pants against forest.

Foden seemed to seem to far out to the right for much action, Alvarez looks to be the better option for now

I think Salah will stay for sure at least this season. He has been part of almost all the attacking returns – linking well with Nunez lately. Might even make Nunez a better FPL asset as he returned points both weeks in a row.
As a Chelsea fan – I would want Sterling to be really start banging goals and assist because we need the goals but just need consistency like you mentioned. As per last GW we just couldn’t break down Forest they were too dense defensively.
I think Alvarez is a better FPL asset – he seems to be at the right place at the right time. Foden might have a break out season in terms of FPL points if he gets to continue playing every GW IMO

The most awful start I’ve ever had in the last 12 seasons. I was seriously on the verge of deleting it.
In 2021/22 wildcarded in GW 5 and as far as I remember was quite successful, last year left it for GW 13 and wasn’t great.
Does this team need WC or can I push it for awhile longer?

IMO you could argue for either – but I do think you are too heavily invested in Chelsea (sad face) right now. But they could just be the one giving you massive points next week just don’t know.
From what I have learned from playing FPL all these years is that you shouldn’t try to guess when a team is gonna start turning around and start getting good results (in our case FPL points). You should stick with people that are constantly giving you points.

You team isn’t bad but if you do have a couple of transfers – you could bring in Maddison – get rid of Pedro. Maybe even think of bringing Alverez.

      • Thanks KB. Think I will sit tight for another GW and then reassess. Man U and Chelsea have not bad fixtures , on paper, and hopefully could be able turn the tables around. Most likely that will be their last chance before I press the WC button and change the lot.

There are a few players that stand out – Joao Pedro, Richarlison, Rico Lewis, Jackson (who will come good soon surely!), but on the whole, you’ve just been unlucky.

A WC wouldn’t hurt, if you’ve had previous success with an early one. See how the ITB goes and re-evaluate again in a week’s time.

There is no harm using the WC if u really need it and feel unhappy with ur team. Now transfer window is shut so it’s not a bad time to use it.
But team looks ok except get rid of richa and atleast one Manu midfielder. The bench doesn’t look great so u don’t have much options from there.

Cheers LA and Reg. The good news is that we have 10 days to think about it. Let’s see how the IB goes.

I think I’d try to make the changes over the next few weeks and save your wildcard. Lots of us are dealing with similar. I’d probably just prioritize the two moves you want to make (or 3 if you have 2FT) and you’ll start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
