Welcome back to FPL and if you are one of these shut-down-completely types who has spent the time between the end of Gameweek 3 and this deadline up a mountain with no internet or civilisation, you haven’t missed an awful lot (pffft)! Just tell me you made your transfers or pressed the confirm button correctly? No? You could be in for a rough one then.
Anyway, the fixtures themselves have us off to the capital this lunchtime for a South meets North affair as Palace host Spurs at Selhurst Park.
At 3pm – in a continuing glorious and welcome return of normality – we have count ’em SIX matches on offer. Those who have the luxury of watching matches at this time, we guess you may have your eyes fully on Old Trafford as the world watches how Newcastle will line up without Callum Wilson. United v United, Red v Black and White.
Arsenal and Norwich square off in what already looks like a six-pointer (jokes) and there are matches at Southampton, as they welcome West Ham United, and Watford who host Wolves. Meanwhile two Cities collide at the KP where Leicester and Manchester renew rivalries with the Foxes sharing the most recent fortune in their meetings.
Lastly, it is ironic how two teams who play football on the ground sounds like the airborne battle of the weekend as the Bees play the Seagulls. Brentford v Brighton is also a phonetic dream.
At dinner time (winks), Chelsea and Rom go after the (Argentine-free) Villains.
Sunday has us waiting until 4.30pm before we can enjoy Leeds v Liverpool (Mark Viduka springs to mind) and until then, I don’t know – talk to your family or something I guess.
MNF is Everton v Burnley and is one for the DCL captainers to pin their Gameweek 4 hopes on.

Been tinkering with my team the whole day and seriously considering a WC, despite finishing this GW with 78
Would getting TAA be essential at this point? I’m thinking:
1) Shaw >> TAA, Barnes >> Raphinha, Mendy >> Sanchez/other 4.5 keeper, for a -8
2) Shaw >> Matip, Barnes >> Pogba/Greenwood for a -4
3) Save the transfer and reassess next week with 2FTs
Also, are Barnes owners selling for sure? He had two big chances yesterday, one hitting the crossbar. Jota could be another option to be moved on with Firmino back soon
I had Barnes for the first two weeks and got shot. He’s got the impression of a nearly man just now and that isn’t helpful. On top of that he isn’t finishing games which isn’t good either.
I would keep Shaw but get Trent if possible.
Might be best to hold the transfer this week and find a way to get him in for Ayling.

What are people’s thoughts on doing Toney > Ings/Jiminez? I have £8m to spend.

If you are just looking for a straight transfer and have no interest (yet) in Lukaku, then there are some really nice picks I think. Jimenez must be dus to score very soon, always gets 90 mins and has some tidy games.
Bamford is another who I think was unlucky today and has a handy run of games ahead.
Ings & Watkins didn’t even look too far away at Chelsea last night.
Bamford or Jiminez are the ones I’d prioritise.
Jiminez is in my team next week. Then I’m hoping my itchy finger will behave until WC GW16l
I was thinking of making a slightly quixotic move for Jiménez instead of Ronaldo, but no doubt will come to my senses before the deadline.
Marcal or Veltman as OOP 4.5 and 4.4 mids? Will they keep their positions?

I’ve got three transfers in mind
ESR to Gray mainly for the price changes
Amartey to Coady for the fixtures and bench backup
Antonio to Jiminez for the fixtures and because if his red card
I’ve got 1FT but if we treat each of these as a hit, which would you do?
Quite honestly, none of them are worth a hit but options 2 and 3 are good as free transfers.
I’d be inclined towards the Jiminez move, giving him three games or so before the probable return of Antonio (to your side).
I have, however, no idea how good (or bad) Jiminez has been so far, though at least Wolves have started scoring goals.
Up against a mean looking defence next, though.
Guys I think I’ll pull the trigger on this wc team, I’m not sure about torres though.
