Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 9

Just as Gameweek 8 is escorted politely off the premises, we have a quick five minute tea break and welcome Gameweek 9. It’s coming at us like a train as well and it begins with another (brilliant!) Friday night deadline.

We kick off at the Emirates as Arsenal welcome Aston Villa in what will be the Gunners second match within 95 hours.

Saturday lunchtime’s offering is Chelsea v Norwich City at SW6 and fear not about captaining Romelu Lukaku as this is not (technically) the early kick off, well it is an early kick off. You get the point. That and the fact that Salah blew that daft theory to pieces in Gameweek 8.

Saturday then continues at 3pm with matches at Crystal Palace – who welcome Newcastle, Everton – who host Watford in the Z Cars derby, Leeds entertain Wolves and Southampton roll out the welcome mat for Dyche’s Clarets.

Saturday evening is spent on the south coast as Brighton and Potter will be hoping to cast a spell over Pep and his charges at the Amex.

Brentford v Leicester is one of two 2pm matches on Sunday, the other being the Europa League v Europa Conference League showdown as West Ham play Tottenham at the London Bowl.

Super Sunday is a cracker – Manchester United v Liverpool – it’s what red wine, a roast dinner and a coal fire was designed for and we also get to see again ‘The Best Player In The World (currently)’ TM.

Oh and it may also be the death rattle of Ole as well.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 9 from all at FF247!

  1. Is Vardy not injured?, Not flagging up injured on FPL

    • Aarron, it’s worth browsing the comments now and again wink

    • hope he is fine. Dont want to waste a transfer on an injured player again. Will just keep him & hope he plays.

      • Only bad thing Vardy got injured in the warm up still played the first half

  2. Gotta look on the bright side. Took a -4 hit to trade in Havertz and Vardy for Pogba and Lukaku.

Might have made +2 gain on that

  3. Still tempted to WC. How does this WC draft look? Lacking 0.1m at the moment

    • Not bad, but you’d need more info on Lukaku and Raphinha. It’s quite different from my drafts but this probably means you are on the right track based on my recent results.

      • Thanks Tornado. Did you decided to WC? Raphinha is indeed a long term headache with the internationals around the corner

        • Not decided, mate. I am waiting for more news on Raphinha & Vardy and will go from there.
          This is my latest draft

        • Ah I did have a version with Foden but at the expense of Son. Feel like keeping one premium up top to interchange between Ronnie/Kane/Lukaku/Vardy and have an additional capo choice.

    • Looks fine. I would not have Janssen instead of Reguilon.

      • Thanks Bees. Was also considering Regui + King to James + Broja instead.

        • Yeah, I’d not touch spurs defence with a bargepole right now.

        • I meant I would have Janssen.

        • Can’t say I follow Brentford that much but will have a look at he’s stats. Thanks guys

  4. 89 points so not bad but not as good as the guy who got 110 in my mini league lol.

Brought in James for Alonso already. Thinking -4 to get Hudson Odoi for Gallagher. Won’t be doing it till end of the week if I even do. Thoughts?

    • Nope. He is not nailed. Tielemans not bad.

    • I would leave as is. It’s a difficult week to pick the vice captain. I’m also on defender for VC.

    • Great thanks guys very helpful

  5. Tielemans and Mount or Foden and ESR?
Can’t believe I am considering entering the hell of Peptation again. wacko

    • Mount would be a good shout if he holds his spot until lukaku returns as he links up really well with him. Add that to James being back, I think lukaku will actually get service once he returns. Not sure when that’ll be though.

  6. Does Anyone know who to captain this week?

    • It’s who to VC which is the problem.

    • I’ve been struggling with that one, yeah.

It’s as if the answer is right of front of me but I can’t see it.

      • Hi Kralin…picking your brains here. Who is the better option: Foden and ESR or Tielemans and Mount?
        Cheers!

        • Will a trap door open if I get the answer wrong?

I’d focus your energies on Vardy, should his injury prove to be bad.

    • Haha. It seems like up until the AFCON then the only time you go against him is if you want to take a punt against the masses to gain some ground, at your own risk naturally.
