Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 9

Just as Gameweek 8 is escorted politely off the premises, we have a quick five minute tea break and welcome Gameweek 9. It’s coming at us like a train as well and it begins with another (brilliant!) Friday night deadline.

We kick off at the Emirates as Arsenal welcome Aston Villa in what will be the Gunners second match within 95 hours.

Saturday lunchtime’s offering is Chelsea v Norwich City at SW6 and fear not about captaining Romelu Lukaku as this is not (technically) the early kick off, well it is an early kick off. You get the point. That and the fact that Salah blew that daft theory to pieces in Gameweek 8.

Saturday then continues at 3pm with matches at Crystal Palace – who welcome Newcastle, Everton – who host Watford in the Z Cars derby, Leeds entertain Wolves and Southampton roll out the welcome mat for Dyche’s Clarets.

Saturday evening is spent on the south coast as Brighton and Potter will be hoping to cast a spell over Pep and his charges at the Amex.

Brentford v Leicester is one of two 2pm matches on Sunday, the other being the Europa League v Europa Conference League showdown as West Ham play Tottenham at the London Bowl.

Super Sunday is a cracker – Manchester United v Liverpool – it’s what red wine, a roast dinner and a coal fire was designed for and we also get to see again ‘The Best Player In The World (currently)’ TM.

Oh and it may also be the death rattle of Ole as well.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 9 from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 9.

    • Trying to understand the rules of cricket. This video really helped.

      https://youtu.be/E_6d3JBBo4s

    • i have joined under t20 global stars. thanks.
I have been playing from start of qualifiers. tmrw tournament proper starts.

      • @Reg83…..

You should have started a new team off for this one. I’m all for giving people a head start, you may need it as I’m fairy relentless with my fantasy cricket…. but you began with 4.660 points! rofl

Up to you what you want me to do here but every time we publish a league table we will have to take that amount off yours to give a true picture.

You are on 4,879.5 currently and you scored 319.5 in that last game.

        • Match 13 for your lot.

        • I thought points will start in the league from tournament proper. No idea qualifiers points will get carried forward. I ll leave the league then. As its not fair

        • You don’t have to leave Reg, I’m just making you aware that every time we post an update we will have to take 4,660 points off of yours!

        • ok np.

    • Thanks mate. Love my cricket. Set up a team but have a major bias towards the Aussie’s.

    • Got confused and looked up cricket… And got none the wiser…

      • Dane, I haven’t got the foggiest about cricket either. It’s supposed to be quite an exciting game if you know what is going on. Need to find some proper info and learn mail

      • Heathens the pair of you.

      • Cricket is interesting on many levels but I’ve always found the way its pre-industrial origins still come through absolutely fascinating. It reflects the work and leisure patterns of a lost era. Test cricket can be pretty deep at times and is allowed to be so becuase it has the time to mature. It offers something beyond instant gratification. It offers us something from another age.

Elements like the pitch and the ball itself add to this. The cricket ball is pre-industrial – it is a device of leather, twine and cork.

Personally I find 20/20 pretty dull compared to say watching a team trying to save a match in the fourth innings on a wearing pitch.

  3. Well damn! There goes the Arsenal CS.

    • Painful that was. Arsenal dominated and conceded a wonder strike because Partey pulled out of a challenge. Really annoying

  4. Not doing anything yet obviously, but for future planning, who would you prefer?….
1- TAA, Havertz(or anyone up to £8.9), Raya or Ramsdale
2- Dias(already have Cancelo), Son, Sánchez
……it’s basically between Son and TAA ….I’d like to swap Sánchez this week for Raya but it would price me out of the Son move later on

    • For me it’s 1
Don’t understand the latest craze about Son as he always goes in combo with Kane. Definitely worth to consider both from GW 12 onwards.

      • Cheers Ivan, will probably do one of Sánchez to Raya, to take advantage of the next 3 fixtures, or Marcel to TAA then, depending how the gw unfolds

    • As Ivan sez, I’d leave Son until GW12 and give him a run then. I’ve a vague plan to bring him in for Havertz at that point.

However Son is perfectly fine at pretty much any time. The ‘latest craze’ that Ivan mentions may have something to do with Son being the third highest points’ scorer in the game at the moment.

      • Cheers Kralin ….so from gw12 onwards would you rather have Son over TAA as I can’t get them both

        • Ask me just before GW12…a lot of water will have flowed by then.

  5. Resisted the WC. Took another -4 hit

    Lukaku and Pogba out

    Vardy and Havertz in

    • Just curious, but why such really moves? Especially when it’s for a hit. Unless these were for this current GW?

      • I think this is the case – these are moves for GW 9. How’s it all going down there Bundeena? Just read in the Guardian that the Mathildas are about to take the field soon against Brazil at Parra! Gonna hop onto a sports streamind site to catch a look – they’re our pride at the moment (obvs can’t be the Socceroos or the Wobbly Wallabies, can it? smile ).
        Bring on the action!

        • Sorry – ‘streaming’ . (Also a few doubts over the sentence ‘are about to take the field soon’!!! Either one or the other! smile Oops, gotta go and prepare my Scottish fantasy side before the deadline!

        • Don’t worry, apparently I can’t even get the word early right…

        • Good start for the Aussies in a very strangely ill-prepared opening match for them! Nice match.(the cricket I mean!)

        • Flicking between the soccer and cricket, been a good night so far

      • Took a hit. Lukaku injured and wanted Chelsea assets against Norwich

  6. Jimenez

I’d be really annoyed if Jimmy doesn’t start. Most reports claim that he hasn’t been able to rest and prepare properly. And then looking at the last few weeks – he played 30 minutes for Mexico last Wednesday and 5 minutes against Villa in GW8.
    unknw wacko fool

    • Hopefully your first player off the bench will come up with the goods – should the above all come to pass.

      Good luck for this GW.

      • Cheers, Kralin! Good luck to you as well!

It’s not even that, I am more irritated with this new trend of managers and journalists saying half truths, or sometimes just blatantly lying (I mean in general, not necessarily in this case) . People can just say the truth without the extra bs – it’d be quite refreshing. Anyway, just venting.

Ben White is my 1st sub, so I will get his mighty 2 points if someone misses out lol
