It will soon be 4-0 and then 5-0!!
Unfortunately that’s the way it’s looking, it would be nice just to see the England openers get a few runs before the collapse, if the Aussies get in 1st it sounds like they could bat forever on this wicket.
Just an insight to local conditions – as a New South Welshman, the SCG has always been familiar territory, feeling not only home to cricket in Australia (sorry guys, it’s not the MCG, nor the Gabba who hold this spiritual role, but the SCG!), but home to everything we hold dear. I really don’t know how, but the Cricket Ground exudes this amazing aura, and going there is like going back to a beloved uncle or aunty’s place – you always feel at ease. I’m sure it’s the same for Australians from other states, and indeed international visitors; it’s not a hostile place, but a part of the world where great and good things take place. Having said this, I hope England put up a fight and make an event of this test match. The SCG will be in there providing the necessary ‘ambiance’ for this to occur!
Sorry if I sound a little ‘in the clouds’, but this place is just a wonderful part of the beautiful city of Sydney, where I’ve seen cricket, rugby league and Australian Rules matches. Love it and I hope all you who are viewing the match get a kick out of it!
