Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

Fantasy football tips FPLTo help you decide or just confuse you a bit more, we have asked 3 of our writers to pass judgment on what players you would do well to pick up and what players are better left out of the fray. We hope this is a simple straight forward formula that can assist you in your decision making as we ride out this International Break. I avoided including players like Siggy, Di Maria or Costa as there is really no point. There seems to be overwhelming consensus on these cats.
Grab – You need this player on your squad. On the Def/Keeper categories if they select Grab, they will give us a name or two from said team. Eg. Grab De-Gea
Avoid – It’s a trap don’t get suckered in.
Bore off – If you have him play him, if you don’t have him don’t bother getting him. Really not worth the extra effort.
Then again they may just go off piste and ramble regardless!

  1. Great article!

    So, thinking of getting Blaine’s without disrupting mids at the moment..

    Duff, Hutton and pelle out>>> berhino, Baines and Moore (bench) in for a 4 pt hit. What say you? Would leave me 0 in the bank so I would need to move now.

    Mannone krul
    Clyne Hutton duff chambers Taylor
    Cesc adm sterling siggy (cork)
    Costa Aguero pelle

    • *baines not Blaine’s! Damn auto correct

    • Hey mate. I’m all for taking in Baines for a hit. The problems I have with your transfers are that Pellè still is in form and has great fixtures ahead and Berahino has gotten some goals lately, but I can see it drying up very soon, Sakho would be preferable if you ask me. I would rather drop Sterling or Fabregas in order to bring Baines in. Those are just my thoughts.

      • Yea, I’m leaning towards sterling but was wondering the impact of Sturridge coming back..

        • I myself prefer Sterling over Fabregas because Fabregas has looked a little more defensive lately. That being said he can always pop a few assists to Costa. Sterling scores goals though.
          Another popular opinion is that Sterling isn’t as consistent as Fabregas although he could now with Studge back. I’m just giving you it all at once, sorry if it’s making it harder for you to decide.

      • +1
        Don’t sell Pellé ahead of 5 good fixtures and in very good form,

    • maple – congrats on the ranking mate.
      Agree with the comments above. Wouldn’t transfer Pelle out. Nor would I effectively take a 4 point hit for a bench spot. Also agree that Sterling may become more appealing with Sturridge’s return (I’m grappling with the Sterling decision and whether it’s worth downgrading him to bring in Aguero). I note you’re keen to move now given 0 in the bank, but a lot can happen during an international break. Hold fire for now mate. You’re in good shape for the next quarter of the season – no rash decisions needed just yet!

  2. Right, it’s been a good day. Catch you later lads.

  3. Cheers boys, excellent little peace! Anyone around?

  4. Thanks for the tips lads!!!

    Need some advice over here myself.

    I have 2 FT and 0.6 in the bank.

    Current team is

    Mannone // Krul
    Ivanovic // Baines // Clyne // Moreno // Wisdom
    Sterling // Fabregas // Di Maria // Siggy // King
    Costa // Welback // Ulloa

    I am thinking either

    Krul -> Forster
    Ulloa -> Sakho

    OR

    TAKE a -4

    Krul – > Forster
    Ivanovic -> Taylor
    Ulloa -> Pelle

    • Hi Neo – to be perfectly honest, not sure either of those strategies is warranted at this stage. I don’t like the idea of a sideways move for low-priced strikers, nor so I see a need for a -4 as proposed. No need to use 2 FTs unless absolutely necessary. With the international break upon us, and another one coming in a few GWs, 2 FTs could be gold. Krul -> Forster might be a go if you can afford that one outright with the 0.6m in the bank; not sure the other is necessary at this point.

    • Neo. I agree with Blue, these are sideways moves and not needed just yet. Ulloa has proved he can score so i’d give him a few more weeks. You have Southampton defensive cover already so I wouldn’t double up. The only thing I’d look to do is get Augero in, anyway you can do that maybe downgrade Ivan?

  5. Love these, cheers boys! And good to see that Cookie can count to three laugh

    • Calvin, how are you my friend? Looking forward to two weeks without fantasy football!?

      • Morning/evening Al smile At the airport now, off to see the folks so hopefully that’ll help take my mind off the 242 and a bit hours until next GW starts 😉 I’d be a lot more relaxed about it all if I was doing as well as you! But am anxious to get on with it and get back into the top 100K at least.

        How are you going to keep yourself occupied?

  6. Falcao
    Fabregas
    4.5m defender

    or

    Aguero
    Chadli
    Azpilicueta

    • I think that’s about as tight a call as you can make Simms. I’d edge towards the first option but both are great tbh.
