Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

451169898Looking to entertain whilst not losing the opportunity to be somewhat informative we come to a new addition of Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! We have selected a number of quick questions that we have seen on the minds of fantasy managers this past week and hope the many, many, many years of knowledge from our 3 very senior (Queen of England old) writers will assist you in your decision making. They will follow some semblance of order as explained below, but they are stubborn at best and forever crankheads so answers are never restricted by any rules as you will soon find out. Hope you enjoy and now let us get down to business…

Grab – You need this player on your squad.
Avoid – It’s a trap don’t get suckered in.
Bore off – Could care less either way. Grab him, avoid him or dress him up if you like.

    His

Not been around a lot recently sorry.

Been on my active WC team tonight and come up with this.

    Any opinions?

    Jovetic until Aguero is back.

Go, how are you pal? What a team! It’s close to what I’m going with but I had giroud over pelle a few subtle Differences. How can you afford the team though? Your team value must be massive? Love it!

      • Hi Alex.

I can’t actually afford that. smile

It’s actually Pocognoli instead of Pieters now. That was done a day or two back and I’ve had a couple rise since then.

104.9 as you can see from the latest shot I’ve attached.

Thanks for the feedback mate. How’s the holiday going?

        • Morning Gp, it’s great and shows the benifit of high TV. The reason I like it so much is because it’s very similar to mine and I’m ashamed to say I may copy you on pelle instead of Giroud to make them even closer! I currently have the same midfield as you plus Terry and alder as the two big hitter and the same rotating keepers! I have falcao as the stop gap till augero is back (my tv isn’t as high as yours so I’ll have to downgrade a midfielder, sanchez to wally would do it), what do you think on falcao? I went to see city v wednesday on Saturday and jovetic didn’t really impress me (not that you can base it on one game).

        • Ps holiday is great mate thanks, going way too fas but still got 2 weeks left! Love being a teacher!!

        • Alex

          Morning mate.

Felt sorry for you with Sundays result and how late on the goal came. What do you think of our boy Stevie May?

Jovetic was picked because I felt I should have some City but I could go either Rooney or Falcao short term also. Rooney i prefer due to minutes played. LVG seems to be turning to Falcao first when it comes to making subs and that is putting me off a bit.

Pelle served me well earlier in the season and I have a feeling with the upcoming fixtures it may be time to return to him. Please join and blame me if it goes wrong smile

        • GP, haha he’s locked in (to this draft anyway!) I like stevie, remind me a bit of a pirate with the tats and pony tail but runs all day and it was his excellent run that got the goal. The guy that scored is a big donkey (although he played very well against City) and the two are playing well together; little and large. I think may will settle in well and hopefully hit double figures. We had roysten drethen on loan as well and the three were excellent (got my picture with him too which made a 4-0 lose to my uncles fulham bearable!) so back to fantasy, have you gone with the back line because they rotate or just think they are good players? I like falcao and his stats are looking good but I agree game time is a worry plus is adm enough cover for Man U? Fixtures are very good though….

        • Also I’ve always been a ‘big 3’ forwards kinda guy and I’m finding it hard not having say Costa and augero plus pelle/Giroud. What do you think about dropping to a big hitter, medium and I’m not sure where Kane fits!!!???

        • Alex

May appears to be one of the brighter hopes of players leaving this country and heading to England. Most actually end up back here within a year but he and the lads at Derby seem to have done very well since moving. Hope you keep looking after him well because he’ll get you decent money in the future if he keeps fit because he is a decent goalscorer.

On my team, I think I too used to like three strong forwards but I’m realising maybe price tag isn’t the be all and end all. Kane is doing very well and if he can stick two past Chelsea then he’ll be has the potential to be able to score regularly in most of the other games. Rested in the cup last night which bodes well for his league appearances. Also, having him allows me my midfield to be truthful.

I like my defence individually as players. I like Southampton’s fixtures and are pretty settled in defence. Terry speaks for himself. I like Hutton’s attacking qualities and AV are often amongst the clean sheets themselves. Pocognoli is to take advantage of Pulis hopefully tightening up WBA and Bruce is my cheap regular (just now) back up.

Normally it will be Toby, Terry and the best looking fixture of the other three. I don’t have a load out plan to rotate these three. I’ll just pick it week by week on who is the most likely to keep a CS.

        • Gp we will pal, I like may and the wednesday fans have certainly taken too him.

What you say makes a lot of sense pal and you have summed up well what I’ve been struggling with in ‘downgrading’ to a cheaper forward line.

Good calls on the defence Toby is a great shout and one of the first names on in draft 1 for me. I did read that a Leicester defender is a great fill in for southamptons tougher fixtures, just a little one too look at mate. Terry; enough said. Do you have any idea which of west broms defenders will start? Why did you choose him?

        • Alex

Apologies for delay. First day back at work.

I can afford Wisdom but it was simply the lower ownership percentage which put me to Pocognoli.

Unless others are signed I’d imagine Pulis will go

          Foster
          Wisdom Lescott McAuley Pocognoli

TGP – really good team mate. I’d only change Bruce who should be 4th choice behind Dawson, Davies and Chester. Don’t know if you have any funds available, if not maybe Wasilewski would be an option, at least he looks nailed.

By the way people. Just a question before I walk into my bed. Walking the bed. Hmmm, sounds familiar. Anyway. Is this a “Fantasy Premier League” website or is it for ”Fantasy Series” such as ”Game Of Thrones”? Very confusing. I prefer the old days when it was all about the monkeys. sad

Ps. great article by the way, I was a bit harsh earlier because you guys were harsh on my Bainsy and Sterling. sad

Aaah yes, for the crazy game of throne fans here. I’ll give you best of both worlds. Game of thrones and a monkey (and I’m not talking about the dwarf, that’s racist bitches).

    Init,

    Thanks.

Southampton’s fixtures after this weekend are actually very kind right through until Chelsea away in the middle of March. Yeah I think the big chap has been passed over quite a bit recently.

Yeah the spare cash is banked for the Aguero move. No-one really jumping out until then so thought I’d better afford myself some City coverage meantime.

Thoughts on this lot? I think it’s very close to the final draft, until you lot have a go at it of course laugh Ta.

      Evening mate.

I really like this. Not a lot wrong that I can see. All look to be playing. I take it Marney is in there as a necessity due to his price? Sunderland and Burnley rotate well so would you consider McGregor dropped for Pantillimon (like I have gone) and an upgrade of Marney to Boyd? Boyd really is the super sub this season. He’s come off my bench twice with goals !

      • jamesimmo says:

+1 here: y’know, I’m genuinely considering playing him this weekend!

With 2 goals in 2 games and QPR (H) next it’s very tempting.

Probably impossible to drop anyone mind you! smile

      • NIN says:

Cheers GP. Your squad looks very nice mate. I like having two premium strikers, but your midfield is the balls so no worries there whatsoever. Is Bruce a regular these days?

I hear you re my GK’s. I seem to have either overlooked Pantilimon/Heaton, or confused the fixtures with Heaton/some other GK. That switch and Boyd in (yeah, Marney was there because of funds) is interesting me now. Burnley/Hull do rotate very well together though, both h/a and fixture wise. I’ll have to ponder that one

Who is the best replacement for Zabaleta. Already have Wisdom, Bertrand, Hutton and Taylor. Unfortunately can’t get Terry
