Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!
Looking to entertain whilst not losing the opportunity to be somewhat informative we come to a new addition of Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! We have selected a number of quick questions that we have seen on the minds of fantasy managers this past week and hope the many, many, many years of knowledge from our 3 very senior (Queen of England old) writers will assist you in your decision making. They will follow some semblance of order as explained below, but they are stubborn at best and forever crankheads so answers are never restricted by any rules as you will soon find out. Hope you enjoy and now let us get down to business…
Grab – You need this player on your squad.
Avoid – It’s a trap don’t get suckered in.
Bore off – Could care less either way. Grab him, avoid him or dress him up if you like.
Not sure if i should wildcard this week? My planned WC team looks fairly strong for this week. Current team is.
De gea
Zabaleta, Hutton, Wisdom
Hazard, Fabregas, Downing, Silva
Costa, Austin, Rooney
Myhill, Boyd, Bertrand, Taylor
TomW
Unless you are desperately unhappy with that, I wouldn’t WC.
That’s a very strong squad in my opinion.
thanks mate. Change of plans. WC next week
Which position should be the first to fill with prime players with a WC? Get 5 premier mids, one forward and 2 big defenders first seems to be the most common. Or should it be 2 prime forwards with a solid third, 3 prime mids and two prime defenders?
Pancho
Depends which system you intend playing most weeks.
If its the most popular 3-4-3 then I would put in your two strongest in each position and then see if you can afford another premium mid.
Thoughts on this for my wildcard team? I’d obviously keep Costa or Rooney until Aguero comes back and then make that transfer. What do you think?
Or this as another option?
Igy
Because I’m on my WC too, it’s difficult to suggest anything without it turning in to my squad!
What I’ll say though is i prefer the second squad there.
And if you are looking for a few quid saved, then there are cheaper goalkeeper combinations available and Clyne could become Alderweireld and still retain Southampton coverage.
Thanks GP! I think I much prefer having two big hitters up top although I would prefer Hazard to Fab in midfield. I may look at the cheaper goalkeeper combinations or downgrade Clyne or Clichy to achieve this.
Every time I seem to look at a wild card team, I always change something!!
Great article thank you very much gents! always amusing to read those
On WC what do you guys think of a punt on Ings ?
Jeet, short term? It’s a good call with the fixtures. Long term it’s not for me.
Cheers Mate!
When are you guys thinking of bringing Aguero straight away or wait a couple of weeks ?
Play it by ear Jeet, he’ll come off the bench before he starts a game you’d think so then you’ve got to decide whether to wait and see him actually start a game or take a chance that he will start the very next one. If that’s after the Chelsea game then even him off the bench for 30 wouldn’t be a disaster if you mis-timed it slightly given the opposition.
