Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!
What happens when we have too many days between fixtures? That’s right we come out with another instalment of grab, avoid or bore off! As anyone who has read it before knows, we do try and offer some valuable insight, but with a twist. While trying to give you some sensible opinions on transfers and other matters we certainly have some fun with it. This will be no different as we look at what players you should be looking to buy, hold or sell and also offering an opinion on Pelle’s granny goalkeeping skills. Yeah, you read that right. Well no more waffling from me as you will certainly get enough from our 3 ‘pros’ who never seem to follow the instructions below. So let the rambling commence…
[clear]Grab – You need this player on your squad.
Avoid – It’s a trap don’t get suckered in.
Bore off – Could care less either way. Grab him, avoid him or dress him up if you like.
Great read, thanks to all concerned! Noticed a mention of Zouma, I was thinking of getting him in for Jones, think he’s likely to keep his place? I’ve already got Terry and Haz so it would mean no Costa, but Giroud’s in form so happy with that
Great read Guys & very entertaining cheers 😉
Morning
Superb effort boys. Fair cheered me up on my commute.
Well done the interviewer in maintaining order
Interestingly Kop, if Everton won the Europa League and were relegated they would be in the Champions League AND the Championship next season
Neither would surprise me at this point!
Life of being a blue . . . .
GP, let’s try and keep things realistic 😉
Kop
I thought I was (well for one part of it anyway 😉 )
Ok lads and lasses, I want your opinion on something. By my standards I’ve been quite refrained hits wise this season and to be honest I’m getting a little bored. Im thinking of taking more hits to try and get my season kick started and also for entertainments sake.
so my question to you all: too hit or not too hit?
NZ – I think it realy depends upon the circumstances. It is surely not a case of not taking a hit. eg this DGW I took a hit getting rid of useless Jones and bring in Rose. My thoughts were that with a pretty much guaranteed 4 playing points there was a lot of upside. so if you are quite confident that it may not cost then go for it, and hope the upside works. I have taken 3 hits this season and am in about 10,000 position.
Alex
Its where you draw the line mate. Surely you want to finish as high as possible?
I’d only hit to get someone in right away who i couldn’t afford. Which I’ve done once or twice recently and its worked in truth.
Musungu/gp, it’s interesting that you are both very conservative. Ok so my plan this week is clyne (I plan to get alder next week) and Cameron to Ivan and and bellerin. A 4ph for defenders in fantasy circles is a big no no but I like the moves and I see it as long term there for a probably will do it. So you only take hits to bring a player in and can’t afford?
Alex,
Generally yes I’ll do it if I see value in getting the man in for the game ahead and for the run of three or more games.
I like those moves you suggested. And they are potentially season-long moves there. Whether you take a hit or not is up to you but no one can say you are not allowed to – just remember that mate.
Gracias los tre, Pardew looks like he’d be even more annoying when drunk. Thanks for the unanimous WAIT on Costa. Next time discuss this very strange occurence where there are some players (they differ ffrom person to person) who once you get they drift into a 2 point plateau for 6 games or so and once you drop em they just cant stop scoring double digit figures. Culprits to include Silva, Giroud, Downing, Sigurdsson, Hendo, Sterling. Mine is Silva, if I pick him now until the end of the season he WILL NOT pick up more than two point per game I assure you. What to do with these fluctuating pr*cks?
RP – then please do not pick SILVA as I already have him and wish to continue collecting good points!
Cheers Mito, I must I was somewhat concerned as to the direction of the questions at one stage
