Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2018-19
International break time can only mean one thing, it is ‘Bore off’ time. This time around we have brought some fresh faces in while still keeping one from the old guard.
Smash makes his second appearance on GABO, you will usually find him on Team News covering pressers where he is always fighting with Wolves & Watford and misspelling Doucouré, much to Frenchie’s delight.
Kralin makes his debut. I haven’t crossed paths often with Kralin on the boards so I asked someone to describe him for me and this is what he told me. “18th century gentleman. Puts on a full 3 piece suit and top hat before siting down to comment on the site. Probably has a butler to type his words out for him.”
Kop is basically old furniture here at GABO. He is an original on this article and anytime he is not busy fighting with anyone who has a positive outlook on life we are happy to have him.
Ok, enough of the intros, let’s get it on!

top stufff guys, thanks a lot for putting this together!
i cannot name any better thing during the IBs.
quite funny to see kiraly’s name as a hungarian
You’re Hungarian?! I always just assumed you were Welsh given the name
lol, it’s entertaining what are the impressions towards profiles
but welsh? rather dutch, no?
Dawid is a Welsh version of David. I live quite near to and work a fair bit in Wales so it was probably just a natural assumption.
Google actually suggests the name itself is of Polish origin.
In what context do you use it? Is it name derided or something completely different?
It’s allover the place mate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_(name)
Always interesting. I had you down for Welsh personally but potentially Dutch. Just shows how wrong we can be
Maybe we’re all the same person, having a complex conversation with ourselves.
Quiet you 😉
wow, i learned something then
i’m david so it’s not a big derivation. when i used to play some folkes called me dawids in the football field as edgar dawids had his heyday back then. i played in a no11 shirt so now you know me
Hi all. Hope is everyone is well. I have a question and would like to know people’s thoughts on two combinations I have in mind.
Ederson, Pedro, Pereyra and Wilson or
Hart, Schurrle, David Silva and Ings.
Thanks
Neilos
Forgot to include that I have activated my wildcard
First one strikes me as better all round but may depend who else you have in the other spots too.
Thanks for the response Init. This is my current set up
Looks balanced but obvious issue if if Salah starts firing you will struggle to get him back in.
First one
Cheers guys.
@ Captain – I have thought about Salah and have a another layout to accommodate him. Just lessens the value around the team
Hi all.
I’m contemplating wc. I hava Auba and Miki. Thoughts on which or both to get rid or does anyone think Auba will hit form ?
Had a bit of a natter about Mikhi on the previous page, comment 18 onwards, so won’t labour the same point but basically he’s a big risk.
Auba will score, my only issue with him now is that he’s essentially a very pricey striker who’s most likely to be consigned to the wing for a bit.
I don’t think I’d have either of them on a WC right now.
Got to take risks sometimes though m8?
Not this early though I suspect.
Martliss,
Despite their fixtures I think there’s a case to be made for going without Arsenal cover if currently on a WC. From what I’ve seen of Arsenal Lacazette has been the most impressive but we can’t be certain he’s going to start regularly.
martliss, i’d agree with the guys if i were on wc now i’d avoid arsenal completely
hi people,
originally i wanted to bank my transfer but the need for getting alonso in starts tempting..
i can only do it with a hit and i cannot find any obvious way… now i’m thinking of shipping out robertson (with the tough fixtures) and miki for alonso and pereyra. what do you think?
thanks a lot
dawids
I understand where others are coming from with regards the tough fixtures Liverpool have on paper. I think I’ll have faith in Robertson though personally as I think his crossing and distribution have improved even on last season.
If you could do Robertson to Alonso in a straight swap then I wouldn’t see much harm in that but to take Robertson out for a hit (and I know there are two parts to a hit) doesn’t sit right with me. I think at worst, I would save a transfer and do it for free.
cheers GP, i’m glad you see it this way.
i’m a fan of robertson and tend to save the transfer but on the other hand alonso’s returns are destroying me slowly. probably will hold on with the team and get a huge sofa for the chelsea game
No worries, and good luck :ok:
With Firminho seemingly about to drop in price, I had been considering Vardy. This a good FT for this week?
I actually think that’s a very good swap Captain, next 4 are very contrasting for the pair.
I don’t see the reason to drop Firmino. Liverpool are flying
Very tempted to play my wc really not happy with my current squad below is my current wc draft with 1.1 itb for any future changes or any stand out changes that could be made the the draft. Any suggestions?
Not a fat lot wrong with that Rogue. What’s your current one like, as in are we talking dire straits in terms of it having be be played?
Current is
Eder,sper
Robertson,alonso,boly,wan b,pelt
Salah,bsilva,walcott,seri,ralls
Auba,king,firmino
Not the worst team going probs doesnt need a wc but 0ft and im not happy when i look at it haha.
It isn’t, I’d probably just learn to like it for a touch longer.
Thanks
