Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2019-20

Guess who’s back, back again….

With the fpl season getting closer and closer to starting, it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered the three originals, as is tradition for each first edition of the new season. As always a new season brings new hope. Hopefully this article helps a little, but not too much.

Looking back through the first Bore Off from last season, I noticed that the Amigos had many things right. All 3 had Salah as the first person in their team sheet, they were all for the LFC double up in midfield with Mane, which would have worked out well for any manager who did. Cookie and Kop were talking about a back four and in Cookie’s case he was talking up a 5 back. Cookie was ahead of his time! Init had his eye on Milivojevic and Cookie said this “Mili is obviously great for a penalty every time Zaha falls over”. Kop talked about a possible golden boot for Auba and was hopeful that Allison would sign for LFC.

Hopefully they can replicate some of their good calls for this upcoming season, let’s see what they have to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

  1. Robbo and Zinchenko

    Or

    VVD and Walker?

I see zinchenko in alot of teams but isn’t that kind of a gamble? How safe are his minutes really?

    • Robbo and Zinchenko as long as you’ve got your WC, Walker wasn’t nailed last season either now, was he?

    • 1st one for me. In fact that’s what I’m currently on. We will see after community shield but I do not see s lot of competition for Zinchenko. City still being linked with that RB from Juve.

  2. Here is my current draft. Not sure on KWP but Foyth went off on a stretcher. Aurier is still about.. could be Zouma or a 5.5 easily enough Going round in circles with Robbo, BSilva and KDB v VVD, Sterling and guess Barkley. Just think Barkley might be a trap and will be rotated. Anyway any suggestions?

    • Hey Smash. Team looks good. But, any team without Sterling seems weak(er) I believe.

      • Can’t have everyone though and Salah is number one for me. Sterling is a great option and will be right up there. Like Kane is also looking good

    • I think you’re wise to give Chelsea a wide berth until things have settled a bit.

Your team looks fine. I’ve currently chickened out of Pope and am on Ryan.

      • Oh yeah same I’m on Heaton actually. All all eyes on that last Burnley friendly where Hart and Pope get 45 each.

Yeah I’m fairly set on most of it. Signings over next week will be interesting. Currently there’s not a 6 million midfielder or forward I’m comfortable with to accommodate Sterling

        • My finalish decisions are around which 6.5 striker (can’t be King as I have Wilson). Currently moving between a Watford attacker and Jota.

I think you’ve covered Sterling; I suppose your risk is you’ve paid a lot to do it. I would probably take the riskier option of B Silva only if I were starting Kane. Or start David Silva instead of KdB.

  3. Hey guys, this is my 20th team

Still have .5 in bank. What do you think ? I had Sterling in a 442 formation but there was no balance. RMT pls

    • All solid picks. Like the balance

    • It’s a good team. If I were starting Kane I’d do what you’ve done with B Silva.

I’d argue Fraser over Siggy because Bournemouth probably have more goal threat.

Maybe think Rico as the 4m defender.

  4. Here’s my Pulisic draft. Think he’ll be a crucial player for Chelsea this season.

    • I’d wait on him, I agree he may be crucial but if we just go on yesterday’s result then so could Barkley if he’s playing in that position, getting game time and on pens!
I’m planning to bring one of them in gw3

    • Decent team there

    • I am also considering pulisic. He can easily be changed to alot of other options if it dosen’t work out.

King and Wilson might be to many eggs in the same basket, but I like the team….

    • Cheers All. I think I’ll play both Wilson and King as last year I have been very unlucky in chosing one of them. “The one I chose, never scored” n stuff. Pulisic as stated by Allan can become any of the decent mids if he doesn’t prove much. Kane+Sterling+Salah team looks very feeble.

  5. Morning all

So the plan is to swap Siggy and Fraser to KDB and one of the Chelsea boys in GW3 – I’ve left 0.5m in the bank just in case anything goes tits up!

    Thoughts?

    • I really like it

      • Cheers Smash, Wesley is a punt but fixtures are great after the first game and I believe he’s on pens. Either him or Murray really

        • Yeah Wesley for me I don’t see Murray starting much this season

        • Ings? Adams? Yarmolenko? Ceballos? Barkley (as a placeholder for the start)? There’s a plethora of options out there…

        • Wesley has a pretty bad goal record in Belgium. Yarmolenko has been shocking in pre season may take some time to get back and won’t start season. Ceballos will be fairly deep I think. Adams does not have the best fixtures but maybe the best bet as goal record ain’t bad. Barkley is not a great placeholder as opening two are tough. You kind of get what you pay for in that bracket is what I’m trying to say

  6. My 2nd draft. Pls advise.
