Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2019-20

Guess who’s back, back again….

With the fpl season getting closer and closer to starting, it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered the three originals, as is tradition for each first edition of the new season. As always a new season brings new hope. Hopefully this article helps a little, but not too much.

Looking back through the first Bore Off from last season, I noticed that the Amigos had many things right. All 3 had Salah as the first person in their team sheet, they were all for the LFC double up in midfield with Mane, which would have worked out well for any manager who did. Cookie and Kop were talking about a back four and in Cookie’s case he was talking up a 5 back. Cookie was ahead of his time! Init had his eye on Milivojevic and Cookie said this “Mili is obviously great for a penalty every time Zaha falls over”. Kop talked about a possible golden boot for Auba and was hopeful that Allison would sign for LFC.

Hopefully they can replicate some of their good calls for this upcoming season, let’s see what they have to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

New Wolves acquisition – Cutrone – reminiscent of Inzaghi.
Who will move over to fit him in, or do you see him starting on the subs bench….

    Hello again lads.

Good to be so close to another season! This will be my sixth or seventh season playing fantasy with the help of the great people who interact with this site. You have all helped me beat my mates many times and I hope we can keep that trend running! Thank you to everyone involved.

I have had a look over the articles and the teams that people have been building. I have put together a team I think works, was hoping I could get some opinions on it.
Only transfer I was looking at atm was Digne – Zinchenko. This would give me +.5m in the bank to help with future transfers (has helped in the past). Thoughts?

My first RMT since I’m back in town.

    Thoughts?

Looks fine – haven’t seen Auba in many squads (despite his high ownership). Could be very handy. Have you got him in as a placeholder – nice opening games before it goes off slightly – or do you fancy him long-term?

Personally I’d go for TAA over Robbo and I’d hesitate before doubling on the B&HA defence (though perhaps you’re anticipating Dunk moving).

I was torn between Jiminez and Wilson and went for the latter, based mainly on Wolves’ heavy schedule and slightly iffy fixtures. Plus Wilson is pretty handy. But can easily swap.

Bit thin on City – Digne could become one of their defenders, perhaps – not that Digne is a bad pick.

      • Hey Kralin..

Thanks for the feedback! I quite fancy Auba for the long-term, but it works nicely that his owning fixtures are so strong.

The Ryan/Dunk situation is more a fact that Ryan is probably the best bet keeper at 4.5, but I will have a review of this.

Why would you take TAA over Robbo? TAA seems to have more of a rotational threat, doesn’t he?

I thought of Wilson, but I didn’t see the need to double up on Bournemouth with Fraser about.

City, city city… which defender? Whic other attacker? Their rotational threat is incredible!

        • Kralin says:

TAA, for me anyway, surpasses Robbo with both the eye and the stats. I can dig some of the latter out if you want. Dunno about the rotation side of things. One’d think he was fairly nailed.

I’ve doubled – well have currently trebled, probably unwisely, – up on Bournemouth, hedging my bets a bit as the early fixtures play out. Fraser/Wilson is quite a good combo. For me, anyway.

City I’ve gone for Zinchenko, for now. If you want nailed then Ederson/Laporte I suppose.

Good morning guys. I’m stuck between these two drafts. Please can you help me choose. The first I feel is more balanced but a bit weak upfront and the second has 2 punts just to make sure i could get three premium players in

Not a fan of either team to be honest, for me Kane/Sterling/Salah in the same team is very hard to get a good balance, as per witnessed by your team, imho smile Some folks here have done it better, having Wesley and Robinson in the same team is a bit meh, the thing is that with those three it’s almost impossible to have an expensive bench like you do…

The second team definitely has better balance, but I’m personally not a fan of Siggy, he seems to be a bit overpriced at 8.0m imo, and there’s no easy route to, say, Son when he’s back… I’d switch Ederson to 4.5m (Henderson, Pope, Heaton, take your pick) and upgrade Siggy to KDB!

“the thing is that with those three it’s almost impossible to have an expensive bench like you do…” ehem, I meant expensive defense lol smile

      • Adambailey7 says:

Cheers pal. I have changed siggy for KDB and looking to switch him to son when he returns. Who would you say is the best 4.5mil keeper. I like pope but he’s a doubt and has a tough run of fixtures
