Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2019-20

Guess who’s back, back again….

With the fpl season getting closer and closer to starting, it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered the three originals, as is tradition for each first edition of the new season. As always a new season brings new hope. Hopefully this article helps a little, but not too much.

Looking back through the first Bore Off from last season, I noticed that the Amigos had many things right. All 3 had Salah as the first person in their team sheet, they were all for the LFC double up in midfield with Mane, which would have worked out well for any manager who did. Cookie and Kop were talking about a back four and in Cookie’s case he was talking up a 5 back. Cookie was ahead of his time! Init had his eye on Milivojevic and Cookie said this “Mili is obviously great for a penalty every time Zaha falls over”. Kop talked about a possible golden boot for Auba and was hopeful that Allison would sign for LFC.

Hopefully they can replicate some of their good calls for this upcoming season, let’s see what they have to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

  1. Thanks MattX, nervous not having Sterling in the team! Especially when there is talk he maybe made captain this year by Pep.

    • But u can’t have everyone!

      • That’s my line!

(That’s an ‘in-joke’ by the way gaz don’t be offended – I just love to say that to people because well, it’s true!)

I like your draft number 2 from the above!

  2. Morning all

Pretty set on this now. Murray or Wesley for that spot, also need to keep an eye on Pope injury and Lundstram game time.

    Thoughts?

    • Very similar to mine, I like it overall, although the last 3 spots or so are up for grabs, don’t know whether De Bruyne and Murray is better than, say, Vardy and Jota, or Wilson and Fraser (if you had Wilson and Fraser then you could change King to Jota so no triple up on BOU smile )…. I think those last spots are up to personal preference, I do like the core of that team, I have the same core!

      • I just think KDB will light it up this season. He’s raring to go. Also he’s a cash cow if I want to get any mid including Son

        • That is very true, good point! You have affected my thinking as well, although I will go Ings instead of Murray if I go that KDB route…

        • Ings has competition, bad fixtures and brittle bones. I did think about him though

    • Looks great. Very similar to my team last week, but 1 big difference in I had Jorgi instead of perez and went Loris. Do we know about Lund’s minutes yet?

      • Not yet but I think he’s best of a bad bunch as he’ll be oop if he does play

  3. this is it ! smile thoughts?

    • i could do:

      siggy –> pererz
      king –> wilson

      • Keep an eye on Mane starting or upgrade him to Salah and downgrade Siggy?
        Rest looks set

        • Kelly is out now as Sakho back but there isn’t really any clear 4m options

    • THIS IS IT?

I think Mane wont be starting 1st 2 weeks.

A no Salah AND no Kane team would worry me personally.

  4. Fee agreed for Heaton moving to Villa

    • Yup. Pope back in, unless he’s still injured…

    • Villa rotate well with either Brighton or Burnley.

      Heaton/Pope or Heaton/Ryan looks interesting for £9m

      • If Pope plays, a Heaton and Pope combo will give you
        SOU/BOU/EVE/cry/WHU/NOR/BUR/EVE/BHA for first 9GWs

      • That’s a great rotation. Think I’ll go with one though to save cash

      • Thanks, was looking for a decent keeper rotation!

        • Sheff utd palace is good for first 6 games

  5. Morning all. Currently settled on this. Thoughts?

    • The site team have similar I believe . . . . *wink*

Seriously, that’s a good side mate. Bench is a bit wishy-washy but it will be similar to lots and is reflected in your starting line up.

    • I’d prod downgrade Wilson to King and upgrade Stephens but it’s pretty solid

    • Like it generally, but Dendonker as a 1st 11 might worry me slightly. Is he a nailed starter? I have him as 5th mid in mine.

  6. Back doing fantasy after a year off and finally stumbled on a team I feel ok with, can people pick the bones out of this and see any glaring problems. Cheers

    • Really good 11 / 12. Doesn’t leave you many options outside of it unless some of those others suddenly become starters. Man Utd would have to nail the Maguire signing before I’d consider any of their defenders. Maybe Zinchenko instead of Wan-B?
