Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2021-22

International break time always means one thing, GABO time!

This mostly passive aggressive panel was filled with our fearless feared leader Init, Rosco, who after only one week of doing Init’s site duties needed a therapist and GP who tries to always be nice, but has been sneaking in snarky comments on the site. With a crazy first few gameweeks and a crazy transfer window to boot, there is certainly a lot of questions when it pertains to fpl that we all probably have. I have asked once again on the site for any in particular you might want answered and have included the ones I could that were not addressed in other questions.

Well, without further ado, let us see what the boys had to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

Thanks to Rosco, GP and Init for stepping up to be a part of this GABO, great stuff guys.

Still think Fred got off easy, probably needed a United fan in the panel. smile

Well fellows, that WAS well worth the read! A savant mixture of reason, wisdom and humour from the pundits. Well done Rosco, GP, Innit and Mito (the MC in this affair I believe!).
Nice to hear your thoughts on all these topics guys. I enjoyed it with my coffee and toast!
Cheerio, and enjoy basking in the glory of a 4-0 win (or was it 0-4 technically?). Oops, sorry GP – oh well, where there’s life, there’s hope! 😉

Morning all – thanks for the read smile

Three Weeks of Mahrez sounds like it needs to be some sort of BBC Documentary though…a very, very dull one.

Great article and some very good advice / observations in there.

This all helps correct the nonsense talked on this site sometimes – frequently by myself.

Nonsense Kralin, your suggestions are always logical and well thought out. And your humour is 2nd rate to nobody’s! Your self derision is also a value that I cherish. Cheerio! smile

      • AJW says:

Hmm, ‘2nd rate to nobody’s’ is a rather 2nd rate utteranceon my part though! Australians living in Europe, hmmmpfff! No wonder AJW is incapable of stringing together a sentence! smile

      • Kralin says:

thanks – the comment was meant to be a joke – not an act of self-loathing.

        • AJW says:

Yes I realised that too! Although feigned self-loathing can be quite charming, depending on the situation (not when you have just scored over 100 pts in FPL – this may come across as quite the opposite – tho’ it crops up too occasionally in the life of an FPLer!).
Hope life is fine – am being swayed one way or the other to buy Ronaldo or Lukaku – my brain telling me to go the cheaper option, then contrary opinions (An’ not the least of ’em, my guvnor! From them who knows I might say!) tempt me back to Ronnie. Oh I am but an easily influenced young boy from the Bush Kralin! Chronic indecision when faced with the ‘right’ decision to make!
          Cheerio! smile

        • Kralin says:

It seems logical to have Ronaldo in first as it’s easier to switch him to Lukaku – to do it the opposite way means keeping some money aside in the bank. Better short-term fixtures, too.

I’m still – and this is because the crunch is nowhere near – inclined to captain Bruno next week and bring in Lukaku in GW7. I wanted to make minor tweaks to my side this week. However Ronaldo has some pedigree.

So this time next week I’ll probably be arguing that not only should Ronaldo come in, he should be triple-captained, and anyone who says otherwise etc etc.

        • AJW says:

Hmm – have been thinking that maybe Fernandes & Toney out for Salah and Ronaldo as I annoyingly and illogically ousted Mo to create room to get one of these bright shiny toys in eventually. Unfortunately I chose Salah instead of Fernandes but am looking to right my wrongs. Or am beginning the season by chasing my own tail? Woof woof. smile

        • Kralin says:

That seems a perfectly logical swap.

Next week for me will be one of those I think where I’ll be happy to match the average and will then take it from there. What I’m hoping will happen, in mini-league terms, not my fantasy chums’ teams terms, is that a lot of managers will play ill-considered and poorly planned wildcards / take loads of hits etc. So whilst a lot of people captaining Ronaldo will probably do ok the very act of getting him into their sides will be, hopefully, as if they have inadvertently run into a sword and consequently caused their sides irreparable damage.

So essentially profiting long-term from the mistakes of others rather than any skillful moves myself. Not so much sinking battleships, more watching the battleships of others drift into a mine-field they laid themselves. Or deliberately steaming full power into drifting ice.

I know nobody on here would do such a thing.

Jota + DCL or Mbeumo + Lukaku? Already got Salah.

Feel like having 2 premium strikers to rotate will ultimately be the way forward but in the short term will Jota+DCL outscore Lukaku (Mbeumo/any other 5.5m player)
