Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2021-22
The first edition of Gabo for this new season.
With FPL getting closer and closer to starting it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered three of my esteemed colleagues: GP of Scottish fantasy fame, Rosco of FPL fame and Smash of Devil’s Advocate fame.
I asked for the site members to provide any questions they wanted answering, and did they ever! Some really great stuff was asked and hopefully this edition of Bore Off can provide you with some good answers (doubtful) to said questions. I want to send a special thanks to all who volunteered questions that were not sexually explicit.
Well, without further ado, let us see what the boys had to say.
Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

This looks like fun, may as well go with that – until I change it last minute in a spontaneous panic moment, of course
Interesting. I’m not sure if Barnes starts and Shaw could be a risk for GW1, so might need to tweak things to make sure of 11.
Cheers. Yes, Barnes is a concern but I don’t really like any of the 7.0 options other than maybe Torres and well… My stomach’s not cut out for two of the citeh lads going all Harry Houdini on me…
I’d prob avoid Barnes as not sure where he fits in there now, I like it
Really? Only one premium, seems very out if template (though I personally view Son as a premium option).
Agree with Barnes, but not really any good options at that price I think. Realistically I might end up with a 5.5’er or Harrison and upgrade elsewhere
Barnes to a £4.5 and Ayling to Robertson perhaps?
That’s way too sensible to be applied for this team RedKev
Do we no whether Thomas or Bertrand are first choice? Thomas could be an interesting alternative if it looks like he starts?
Could be neither you just go Fofana surely
True Fofana is the safer bet, but wing backs offer more as Justin showed last season. I’m looking around for interesting 4.5 def. I could conceivably be TAA plus 4×4.5.
Yeah I mean Justin will be great when he’s back. Looks like I’m going to have three 4.5s. I’m still with ESR currently too
**Set Pieces**
It is finally updated, just finished it up. If anyone sees a problem with it that is clear and obvious please call for VAR and we will have a look at it.

Thank you Mito, an under appreciated labo(u)r of love but one that many will refer back to countless times I’m sure.
Richarlison is having a great summer at the Olympics.
A hatrick against Germany and then a brace last night against Saudi Arabia.
With Everton’s nice few fixtures at the start he is on my radar
I like him and he’s certainly in form, but is there a risk of him having a rest (one game maybe?) before joining up with the rest of the Toffees?
Yes, that’s true. The final is on the 7th and it looks like Brazil will be there to fight for a second gold in a row.
Too risky
DCL and Digne for me :-)(at the mo!).
Digne is already in my draft.
Waiting to see how the Kane saga will end to finalise the front 3.
He was terrible at the Copa América. At least in the ones I watched him.
Not sure how it will go with Rafa and him. Don’t think Benitez will put him in a front 2. Guessing he plays wide and has more defensive responsibility than he has been used to.
Will have to see him put in some good performances with Everton before he grabs my interest.
He’s playing way above his level here Ivan, in terms of opposition. I’d be more worried if he wasn’t smashing it. He basically begged to be allowed to take part, and let’s face it that’s because he knew he’d be the star turn for once. It feeds his child-like ego.
I agree with Mito on the Rafa formation, I expect to see DCL up top alone with 3 behind, perhaps even just 2 at times. He’ll have to make do with a wing spot I think. Same difference really though, just means he’ll be diving and rolling around on a different part of the turf.
Yes, I think best is to stick with DCL for the beginning.
As we know, 70% of us will play the WC at around GW4 or 5, so plenty of time to asses him and the rest.
This is what I’m currently sitting on. I haven’t heard anyone talk about Pulisic at all. I understand his fixtures aren’t great but I think out of all the Chelsea players, he will hit the ground running this season. This will be his first full preseason and he looks to be playing in every friendly he can. He is on a huge high after winning the champions league and the nations league in the space of ten days so his confidence will be booming.
Any thoughts on this team and Pulisic?
Havertz at 8.5 is more appealing to me somehow, but the team looks fine.
Just remember he breaks like glass, poorly crafted paper thin glass.
Pulisic probably got hurt when Makeya put him in his fantasy team, got dragged too fast into the XI.
Haha fair calls. I’ll see how he goes after a full preseason. Might be the most football he’s played in a row and will need a month break.
This is my team for now, without bruno
Looks really good to me, I am slowly shifting my thoughts into getting DCL myself and Cavani is certainly very tempting with the fixtures he will have. Bowen is in red hot form, hopefully that carries over into the season.
