Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW2.

We are back and in full swing already! Gameweek 1 offered a mix of everything. Lots of goals with not a single 0-0 draw. 9 of the 10 games had atleast 2 goals. No snorefests! We had a giant killing with United being mauled by the Tigers losing 2-0. Ipswich also grabbing a promoted team win by beating Ipswich 2-1. And lots of last minute drama with City scoring twice late on to win, Liverpool scoring a penalty with the virtual last kick of the game.

This has meant a nice spread of points for the first week of the new season’s H&L competition. We had 13 managers score double digit points. Lots of people got Havertz correct as FGS so it did mean we had a tight top bunch. The top 3 were on 16 and 15 points respectively.

In 3rd place, was Ko Nay on 15 points. Tied for top spot were Daisy2002 and Botman and Robben both on 16 points. Therefore we needed our minute tiebreaker and… Daisy had no chance because Botman and Robben got the minute exactly spot on with his 15 minute prediction.

THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION… scoring couldn’t be much simpler:

• Correct Score —> 3 points;
• Correct Result —> 1 point; and
• Correct First Goalscorer of the Gameweek —> 5 points.

To clarify, this is who you think will score the first goal of the entire Gameweek, not just in any given match that you choose to pick yourself!

Points above are awarded on an ‘either / or’ basis, so you’ll either score 3 points for a Correct Score or just 1 point for a Correct Result, and these are never added together for a 4-point score.

Tie-Breaker: in the event of 2+ entrants being tied as winners for the Gameweek, the overall winner of the weekly prize will be decided by a tie-breaker. In order to do this, we ask that you also post your prediction for the time at which the first goal of the Gameweek will be scored. Nearest the pin wins!

The Rules… 1 entry per person and all entries must be submitted prior to the first match of the Gameweek. Once all the matches have been played, we’ll calculate the scores, and the winner(s) will be announced in the following Gameweek’s competition article: each winner will walk away with an FF247-branded prize..

• tell us who you think will be the First Goalscorer of the Gameweek; and
• follow it with your guess for the time of this first goal (to give yourself a fighting chance in a tie-breaker situation).
