International Break Round Up
[three_fourth padding=”0 20px 0 0″]
[/three_fourth]During this period, our most important assets travel around the world, either to compete for Euro or World Cup qualification or just to play friendly games. They get tired from long distances covered, they struggle with jet lag to and on top of that they sometimes get inj… sshhhhh. In a word they get internationalbreaked.
And we, honest and dedicated FPL managers, are sometimes left with choosing between taking unwanted hits, losing team value or even using chips to compensate. All just to make sure we start a decent enough first XI on the following week. That’s not fair play.
We’ve only just recovered from the last one really… and just when your players of choice start to gain some kind of form and fitness, guess what? They get internationalbreaked again. There should be a FIFA fantasy compensation program of some sort for that. Anyway, I digress.
In this article we aim to update you on how the most important FPL players fared (if at all) for their national countries enabling a better assessment of their condition ahead of GW13.
Of course we couldn’t cover all Premier League International players so we opted for a mixed criteria that combines belonging to the top 10 on ownership (TSB%), total points (TotalP), form or price for each position. We also highlighted other players performances that we thought were worse a mention such as Sadio Mane, Gylfi Sigurdsson and… Joe Ledley! That should cover most of many a managers concerns over their team. If not, however, please use the commentary box if you are looking for any specific player info. We won’t necessarily know, but we’ll give it our best at finding out for you!
Also consider that players such as Cazorla, Fà bregas, KdB, Hazard, Ozil, Mertesacker, VVD and Blind only played the first game of these internationals. It goes without saying though that how they reacted to their respective games being cancelled for security reasons is anybody’s guess.
Here follows how your internationalbreaked players fared:

I’d do as you have said there. Deulofeu in and save the other.
Great information and article DMC. Much appreciatted
+1
Gumby/Ki many thx guys. Cheers
Wait, is this Ki, the man who scored two against Myanmar?!
United presser – Rooney, Martial, Carrick, Fellaini & Valencia all to miss out vs Watford. Rooney ill, the others injured.
It really will be a bore fest!
Depay striker?
One would think so B. Wilson is available but not match fit enough for 90mins.
Did he say how long Martial is out for?
He said he may be back for the Champions League in the week.
Cookie – So, basically, we aren’t scoring vs Watford this weekend, right? Oh dear :noshake:
pretty much mate, unless Mata or Lingard can conjure something up. 1-0 at best. Could easy go the other way.
Yeah, it doesn’t look good. I was going to bring in Rojo / De Gea / both, this week but i reckon that’s screwed now. Anyone for a bit of Seamus?
Could have worded that better but you know what i mean
hahaha well he’s not exactly a looker!!
Could go well with him NIN, it’s about time he got his attacking returns up again and now has the fixtures on his side.
He’s no Giroud that’s for sure
Yeah, the fixtures are there for attacking returns. Might just do that.
NIN, I’m talking about penetration and you’re talking about a bitta Seamus? Something’s not quite right with th Doubles leaders…
I think 0-0 I likely, safe enough to bring in United at the back still?
NIN – Coleman you mean, right? He was rated 7.4 by whoscored for the first playoff leg (away) with Bosnia. That’s man of the match actualy in a 1-1 draw. I’d ship him in if you can as he seems on is way to his best form of the season.
This is a chance Depay has to take, he has been a huge letdown this season. He hasn’t shown anything close to what he is capable of.
I wouldn’t judge Memphis yet – or indeed any foreigner coming into the PL, especially a kid. Very few settle in immediately – Henry & Alexis very much the minority.
Look at Ozil – it’s taken him 2 seasons and we were told he was only of the very best in Europe!!
And a certain Cristiano lad.
One word comes to mind as a United fan: balls!
Mata in a false 9 role is what I’m expecting to see, lots of midfield possession and no penetration.
I can even think who else we’ve got in our Youths that could potentially get a run out up top?
webstar – Herrera could play upfront in a barcelona-no-forward style of play. I can’t see memphis doing that actualy, but, being LVG, one never knows.
Lanzini or Ighalo? Whom should I play?
Morning Snookie think I would go with Ighalo Utd have quite a few players out & most played mid wk.
Ighalo.
Ozil or Mahrez confused about captain ! Ozil is fresh from 2 weeks IB rest but against West brom who are solid at back, and Mahrez played in IB with Vardy doubt also Newcastle managed 2 CS in last 2 weeks !
I’d go Mahrez / Vardy ahead of Ozil.
Hey guys, martial is definitely out so I’m thinking of replacing him with lukaku? Also thinking of doing payet out mata in? Still need to wait on news about kompany.
Amar98 sounds like reasonable moves.
Cheers mate
Amar98 – Yes to Lukaku, no to Mata, for me. United just aren’t scoring enough goals and are now missing some forwards. I’d go for Bolasie / Tadic / Deulofeu ahead of Mata. Lets not forget that Watford have been pretty solid so far and next week United have Leicester away.
NiN
Flip side of that, Mata now guaranteed any penalties for tomorrow?
Yep, he was on them anyway i thought? Winning one is the problem!
Hey NIN sorry for the late reply, I was actually thinking about deulofeu after I made the post aha. It’s just mata has been quite decent the last few weeks, but I guess going with deulofeu can free me up some funds
Thoughts on what to do?
Thinking Martial out for Lukaku or Kane?
Cech McCarthy
Kolarov J.Evans Morgan Smalling Francis
Ozil KdB Mahrez Sanchez Westwood
Pelle Ighalo Martial
1FT and 2.5m itb
Will see how Aguero gets on this GW and look at replacing Lukaku/Kane or Pelle with Aguero and fund that by doing Sanchez to Coutinho next GW maybe
So Lukaku/Kane can be a punt or even long term….
Best to partner up Igahlo and Aguero long term? Pelle/Kane/Lukaku?
PP
Kane
Lukaku
Pelle
is my order of preference but the first two are really good choices in truth. Pelle less so due to his yellow card accumulation and apparent travel sickness!
GP,
Was looking at it now….
If I go with Kane Aguero Ighalo then I have 7.7m to replace Sanchez in the mid
If I go Lukaku Aguero Igahlo then I have 8.5m to replace Sanchez in the mid (Coutinho is appealing and I would have a buffer for price rise).
Between Lukaku and Kane though… really not much in it and with Spurs in Europe (I think still) sways towards Lukaku.
Also you take the hatty away from Harry (which Boruc helped with) form and fixtures is with Lukaku
Think Ive made up my mind haha
PP
But he did also score against Villa and Anderlecht. And however you look at it, he still scored those three goals.
Fair enough on preferring Lukakku pal but I wouldn’t dismiss Kane’s goals too readily
GP,
I understand, but looking at what else I can do is more of the Lukaku factor.
I can bring in Coutinho rather than Tadic or 7.7m mid.
So Lukaku and Coutinho over Kane and Tadic…
Actually… now more thinking is required
