International Break Round Up

[three_fourth padding=”0 20px 0 0″]

[/three_fourth]During this period, our most important assets travel around the world, either to compete for Euro or World Cup qualification or just to play friendly games. They get tired from long distances covered, they struggle with jet lag to and on top of that they sometimes get inj… sshhhhh. In a word they get internationalbreaked.

And we, honest and dedicated FPL managers, are sometimes left with choosing between taking unwanted hits, losing team value or even using chips to compensate. All just to make sure we start a decent enough first XI on the following week. That’s not fair play.

We’ve only just recovered from the last one really… and just when your players of choice start to gain some kind of form and fitness, guess what? They get internationalbreaked again. There should be a FIFA fantasy compensation program of some sort for that. Anyway, I digress.

In this article we aim to update you on how the most important FPL players fared (if at all) for their national countries enabling a better assessment of their condition ahead of GW13.

Of course we couldn’t cover all Premier League International players so we opted for a mixed criteria that combines belonging to the top 10 on ownership (TSB%), total points (TotalP), form or price for each position. We also highlighted other players performances that we thought were worse a mention such as Sadio Mane, Gylfi Sigurdsson and… Joe Ledley! That should cover most of many a managers concerns over their team. If not, however, please use the commentary box if you are looking for any specific player info. We won’t necessarily know, but we’ll give it our best at finding out for you!

Also consider that players such as Cazorla, Fàbregas, KdB, Hazard, Ozil, Mertesacker, VVD and Blind only played the first game of these internationals. It goes without saying though that how they reacted to their respective games being cancelled for security reasons is anybody’s guess.

Here follows how your internationalbreaked players fared:

    Morning all.
Thanks DMC for a very nice article that everyone should give a read, I suspect there will be some surprise rests this GW!

      DMC says:

In deed Albertini!! Lot’s of travels and lot’s of games to follow. Alexis being the main concern in that department. I’m thinking KdB is the lad to armband this week. He’s fresh, motivated and a class player. Kane of course is a shout, but he played 180 and scored ZERO! Lukaku certainly is a contender, having played only 63m. I also see Willian very sharp and motivated with growing popularity in Brasil; and he used to scored a lot for Shaktar. Deulofeu though scored 5 and is 3rd in FPL form (mids)! Ahh decisions.

    Have 1FT and £1.5 itb.
Is there anything I can improve?
Thinking to keep Hazard for a while as they have good fix, anything else?
    Please comment, Thanks a lot.

Super article DMC- nice to see something a little bit different! We really are spoilt on here…

Can any of you help me make a decision? I’ve decided to just make one transfer this week- I’ll give Ayew and Naughton the chance vs Bournemouth and then ditch them both next week.

Payet is on the way out: I am interested in Deulofeu, Bolasie and Willian. Leaning towards Bolasie right now as I already have Everton cover, and I might want to see some genuine improvement from Chelsea first. Seem reasonable? I’ll bench Sanchez or Sterling (last minute call!) so would be well covered if Vardy doesn’t make it.

      The B says:

Bench Payet, play Ayew and sort out Gabe/Ox if you have 2 FT, or else save it.

      • Pippin says:

Bench Payet?? He’s out for months… Oxford is an enabler- I’ll fix him in the January WC. And Gabriel may well play over the next few games.

I’m definitely playing Ayew though- it’s his last chance saloon!

        • The B says:

That decision is a no-brainer mate. How many FTs do you have? If you have just 1 then its best to save it instead of bringing in a new player to create a benching dilemma for yourself, especially when you have a solid replacement in form of Ayew, who plays a leaky Bournemouth and will even be triple captained by some retards.

Using 2 FTs next GW looks best, as it will help you in planning a move for Aguero by downgrading Payet.

        • Pippin says:

Nah, I’ve got two FTs. I was thinking of benching either tired Sanchez vs WBA or Sterling vs Liverpool (though Sakho’s injury changes things somewhat). Thanks for your thoughts though. Definitely thinking 2FTs next week with one eye on Kun is wise.

      DMC says:

      Pippin – thanks mate!
As for planning, not sure you should bring anyone in for your front 8 spots. If you want ayew out next week and if the one you want in this week fails, you’ll have two mids to work out adding to the benching dilema you’re creating this week.
About Bolasie, while he’s obviously a good asset, he does tend to explode more often away from home and palace have two home games.
And don’t let yourself lured by those 2G he has on IB: they are penalties! Good luck!
