1st half was boring but the 2nd half was great entertainment very end to end.

Pleased as I have Benteke in my team smile

Looks like Ward is set for the 3 BPS. Impressive that beat out both Lukaku and Benteke without a clean sheet. He did have an assist, but still.

I will never get the FPL bps system. I remember Ibra doing literally nothing in the first game but score a goal and have a free kick missed, yet running away with 3bps (which I was glad about since I owned him but it didn’t seem right). Now this.

Also notice how Jags is on 1 bps ahead of Bentekers. Meaning, if a defender gets an assist, they are in for some points and they don’t even have cleansheets on them. This is why I want defenders like Smith and Holebas.

      • RedVT says:

Yep, and Costa could score two goals, mow the grass at halftime and wash the official’s car and he’d be lucky with 1 BPS. That’s actually one of the reasons I won’t keep him long term, for 10 million you should be getting some friggin’ BPS.

        • Raziel says:

And I have bloody Ibra sitting there. 😉

Sticking with Ibra though, he’s on penalties/direct free kicks and he’s the main forward, no swapping. I don’t like how freaking unselfish he has become, when playing together with Cavani, he didn’t want Cavani to score at first, hahaha!! Now, he’s happy when Rashford scores and his teammates. IBRA, get the fcking hunger back. laugh

        • Raziel says:

The opposite of CR7, whom is one selfish fuck and he will probably never learn and celebrate with is teammates properly. They can run at him when he scores, but that’s about it. And well, in the showers, we all know CR7 has to be… so he celebrates with his teammates there. 😉

I’m not entirely sure it’s worth having 1 maybe 2 tops defenders over 4.5. Had Williams 3 weeks and he’s got me 2,2,2 which is a waste of money! Think I’m going to drop him for a cheap and cheerful and pump the money up top puntil defenses start getting CS. Happy with Lukaku though!

      Pancho says:

Funny Rosco, I was just thinking the opposite this morning so I’ve gotten Bellerin in. I feel paying big for defenders with consistent attacking returns is worth it, but not for just CS potential. I think I’ll end up with Bellerin & Walker & 3 cheapos to rotate for the third spot. I figure they will both score better than most/all 5-6.5m mids and forwards.

      Rosco77 says:

As opposed to getting more defenders over 5.0 I meant.., I’m not making sense.. too many jd’s! Any who Bellerin is the only defender I really want so will bring him in for monreal next GW regardless as I have 3.1 mil and he seems good value and will match or out score mids in that price bracket over the season!

      • A 6.5 defender getting more points over the season than a mid/fwd of 6.5 is not the point tho.
Squeezing out 200 points per player on the pitch over the season is the point.

Last season only 4 defenders over 150 points, all did it by playing almost every game, none got over 200 points
13 midfielders got over 150 points and mostly played <80% of game time, a couple got the 200 despite that
9 forwards got over 150 mostly over 170 and again with lower game time.

So you can rotate by purchase in mid/fwd to boost your points, cant do that with defenders, and anyway there aren't enough high scorers from them to be able to rotate that way anyway..
