Live Match Chat Gameweek 12 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 12 FPL News: A two week gap in FPL can seem like an eternity, especially when you have to watch the international games knowing that you’re precious assets are literally risking injury at every turn. Thankfully it’s now over and we can return to normality this weekend. All the worry over whether Sanchez / Hazard / Costa / ‘insert your player name here’ is either fit / injured / on a plane / missed a plane / drunk / ‘insert daft rich player behaviour here’, is almost over. This is a rare PL weekend as we have a grand total of 8 games on Saturday. GW12 itself begins on Saturday lunchtime as Manchester United host Arsenal and runs all the way through to Monday evening when the excitement will surely reach a crescendo with West Brom hosting Burnley. You can almost taste the sarcasm in that one. In between those the title race hots up as new leaders Liverpool visit Southampton at the same time that most peoples early favourites Man City hit the road to visit Lord Pardew of Palace. Elsewhere Lukaku will be a much captained hero or zero, as he always is, as Everton entertain Swansea before Spurs and West Ham bring Saturday to a close with a London derby. After an unusually busy first day, Sunday will feel a bit sparse with just the one game, which sees the Chelsea juggernaut travel north and it’ll probably plough straight on through Middlesbrough without stopping before returning back down south with 3 points and another handful of goals and FPL points in its back pocket. Cherish it though, as then there’s Monday…

Thoughts on this team? Am I mad to be considering Fletcher, Austin and Williams out for Anichebe, Pedro and either Nyom or Chambers. Have nothing in the bank and 2 free transfers

    Last 6 GWs:

    Costa – 48 points

    Aguero – 26 points

Forget all the ifs and buts. Sometimes all you need are the cold, hard facts.

Ok all couple of ? Lukaku out Costa or Kane I like Kane’s fixtures but you can’t ignore Costa

Thoughts on Haz v San if I take Costa Sanchez will stay & his fixtures might just dictate that anyway 😉

    evening guys.

just wondering what everyones thoughts are on taking hits? ive made 20 transfer which have cost me 40 pointa but well they have been worth it and has allowed me to climb up the rankings and also increase my squad value. This week i took a minus 4 hit for kdb and alonso for smailimg and alonso who got me 13 points. i know it doesnt work all the time but i think its sometime essential to get in top players especially whwn they have an easy opponent then selecting them as captain. Although minus 40 seems excessive i recon its got atleast double the pointa especially when the hit has turned out to be a good choice of captain.

would be interested to hear your thoughts

    Thanks

it depends on your style of play. Personally, I limit them as much as possible. I take maybe 5-8 a year.

At the very least, I think that you should always question whether you really think that your hit will give you an extra 4 points next week. So a guatanteed goal more scored by the forward you bring in compared to the forward you bring out (that can be the case); or a clean sheet in the case of de defender (that is very rare).

I also consider that hits can occasionnally worth it when I do not manage to perform the tra, sfers I had in mind, for instance when injuries contradict my plans.
But I try to resist as much as possible the tentation to do it!

(That being said, I will probably take one tonight smile )

      Silvers says:

Saloba unusual I have only taken 3 or 4 hits this season so far I usually like to take lots of hits at the bringing of the season to build up value but you can lose ground.

But that said if it’s working for you & you have a decent team value & rank then carry on 😉

      • saloba11 says:

i think its probably been worthwhile because my team was doing so poorly until around gw6. I am going to try to limit them as im quite comfortable with the team i have. Ive probably gotten abit lucky over the past few weeks. dont get me wrong my ranking isnt brilliant (currently have 625 points but have mcauley playing) team value is 102.8. Thanks for the input guys .

      inittowinit says:

My best seasons have been when I’ve not taken hits but is that because of that, I don’t know. I used to plan ahead a lot more and that often negated the need for any but I don’t have the time to do so anymore and the team definitely suffers as a result. And that often results in the odd lazy hit to avoid something I could have had I planned better. As Silvers says if it works for you then fine. But as Vinvci says it’s hard to consistently nail that 4 difference every time.
