Live Match Chat Gameweek 26 FPL News
Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 26 FPL News: It’s a slightly reduced fixture list this week as we have just the 8 games having lost all of Arsenal, both Manchester clubs and Southampton due to the League Cup final but if this comes as a shock to you at this stage then you really haven’t been paying attention! And it’s probably a bit late to do anything about it now. If you are feeling deprived though then this is just the appetiser to GW28 which looks like the shell of a real gameweek. Sunday then sees Spurs host Stoke before Leicester and Liverpool see out our FPL week on Monday evening. Assuming City win replay are Kun and Sterling likely to play both DGW matches?
Haha, the million dollar question…. #getPeped
Think we can count on Kun getting 2 x 60mins minimum…
Same for Sterling me thinks…
I’m counting on Pepe to start Nolito and co. for the HUD game – but let’s see if he feels the same…
Gents
Assuming city beat huddlesfield are we just bringing in Kun and sterling? Anyone going to use the TC chip?
Kun for sure…
As for Sterling – still deciding on this…
TC Kun ? Oh yes!
I think I will be using my TC!!
So are most planning on taking a hit this week then next week as well?
-4 is standard transfer for me milburn 😉
Haha I can see it being -12 by next weekend.
I seem to have missed something. Do Man City have a DGW besides GW34 & 37? What’s the eagerness to transfer in Kun?
Secret SAF 😉
Ha SAF. If city beat Huddersfield in the cup on Wed they will have a double next weekend. However they will blank the weekend after that.
Thanks Milburn. Who are they playing? Sunderland and who else?
Stoke
Ahh. Now I can see the appeal
Blimey SAF where have you been all week ??
Brooky – my kid used all my phone data watching cartoons on Netflix. It’s been a boring week of commuting!
Milburn – don’t take Mitro for granted 😉 !
He has the “itchy fingers sindrom”
lol I’m actually thinking of doing a -8!! We will see what happens over the coming days
Haha I think I might need to do a -8 to bring Aguero in for Giroud but that would give me 10 for 28 with a FT to bank. Im thinking it may be worth doing if that’s the case
Guys thinkong of doing the following:
Costa and erik to kun and sterling, is this silly? I could just do costa to kun for no hit. What do we think?
Man U – put it this way I won’t be talking you out of it 😉
Sound solid transfers to me man u man. I’d still wait till after Wednesday just to be safe though.Stranger things have happend.
I’d wait until the match has been played and, even then, only do the one transfer as you’ll need as many players playing as possible come GW28.
Cheers guys. Don’t know about going for Kun again though. No gurantee he’ll get 180 mins.
I think it’s pretty much guaranteed he WON’T get the 180 minutes. That’s not the point. The point is, it’s what he can do in 60-70 minutes in each game. And against two very ordinary teams in Sunderland and Stoke, that could be two very sizeable scores.
I hope
True. Worth a gamble then.
Evening ladies…
Question I am pondering – i’m looking to buy one midfielder for GW27 & 28 – should it be Siggy or Sterling?
McAuley
Goal machine
That’s a difficult 1 but I think with the excitement of the DGW I’d be swayed towards sterling.
It might depend on how many you can feild in 28 though Cookie. If I only had 5 players currently I’d probably use the next 2 FT to bulk that up.
If memory recalls you’re pretty well prepared for numbers though.
Yeah Milbs, i’ll have 9 or 10.
Both have nice fixtures, of
course we are all concerned with what Pep may do re: rotation.
Then in GW30 Sterling plays Liverpool, Siggy goes to Bournemouth.
Meh GW 30 is miles away. Cross that bridge when you get to it :smiling:
Sorry I meant 29
Ah well that’s completely different 😉
Sounds like you’re definitely swaying towards Siggy though mate.
I’m just thinking if stoke play like they did today and sunderland play like they do every week then it has the potential for big points. Congrats on the cup today btw!
Cheers Milburn, nice to win something this season!
Were Stoke just rubbish today?
They just didn’t seem up for it from the off. Almost expecting defeat before KO. Can’t take anything away from a strong 1st half performance from spurs though.
Normal Stoke then!
Stoke vs the top teams –
Stoke 1 vs 4 Man City
Stoke 0 v 4 Spurs
Arsenal 3 v 1 Stoke
Liverpool 4 v 1 Stoke
Chelsea 4 v 2 Stoke
Spurs 4 v 0 Stoke
Ironic Arsenal miss out on a 4 next to their name!
Cookie,
Happy man this evening I bet. I really enjoyed that game even though I felt United rode their luck at times and Southampton looked dangerous, I can’t really complain about the result. Three good goals (five in fact). Rojo is a calamity either happening or about to happen again.
Yeah, how many you got for GW28 then?
Cracking final wasn’t it GP? Yeah they rode their luck to an extent, but then Southampton’s goal in 1976 was offside and don’t hear Le Tiss arguing with that one :big-lol:
For GW28 I will have
Jaku
Baines, Coleman, Brunt
T Carroll, Snoddy, Mane
Lukaku, A Carroll
And maybe Siggy…..
Cookie,
It was one of the best domestic finals I’ve seen for a while. Even though Gabbiadini’s first goal was clearly on, I also thought Southampton were lucky to have Romeu stay on after his arm in the face to Herrera whilst on a booking so Saints got a bit of luck too. United are moving in the right direction again finally and that’s the main thing for you.
I would go out and say Sigurdsson then. You can guarantee he’ll play every game whereas Sterling could be rested/rotated (despite his obvious form just now – you just never know with Pep).
To be fair GP, the ref was lenient on Lingard also.
These things even themselves out.
I think Siggy is the safer option, Sterling the more likely to explode though. Tricky one.
Yeah that is also true, Lingard was a bit cheeky. A lovely goal though – great move down the left and a beautiful finish. Scored in three finals – one was the Shield – but you wonder if he’s going to continue to be one of these big-game-big-goal players across the rest of his career?
Michu !
Now why didn’t I think of that!
Great scoring Doc
Get both……
Hey Brooky,
Could do for an -8 but would mean losing both Alli & Erik and not sure I want to be doing that.
If City has a DGW, logic says Sterling, no ?
Not really a good idea going into the DGW w/out any City cover, me thinks..
You are all set for GW28, so nothing to worry about…
Sterling all the way !
You’re making a solid argument Doc, appreciate that!
I’d play it safe and go with Siggy. Sure he hasn’t got a DGW but he’s got good fixtures and, as the others have said, Sterling may only play one of the two games anyway.
Hello Cookie.. I’ll go with Sterling, esp. when he has a dgw on the horizon. He looks involved in maximum of City’s attacks. He’s anyways given me decent returns recently. You can get Siggy for gw28 next week.
Hi all. A lot of folks thinking ahead to GW28, of course, with only four (possibly five) matches going ahead. So understandably people are transferring in Liverpool, Swansea, Hull etc players. But there is a difficulty, With so few teams playing you’re inevitably going to end up with a lot of “contradictions”. So, Lukaku goal means no clean sheet for McAuley; a Jakupovic clean sheet requires a blank for Sigurdson and so on…So isn’t it best to resist the temptation of loading up and instead selecting only one or two players per match, ensuring no contradictions as far as possible, and concentrate planning on a good GW29 line-up?
Here what your saying Qwk,
However; it would take a brave man to have all your eggs in one basket and only have 4 or 5 players starting and hoping they all score / keep their clean sheets etc.
Better to have the cover, even if a goal from Lukako means no clean sheet for mcauley! And let’s be honest we all have mcauley in because he is a goal machine. I am after the 6 points, not the petty 4 haha!
It is better to have the cover and at least your getting 2 points for that player. Another way is to look at the maths.
5 starting players = 10 (60 mins and no cards etc)
11 players = 22 points. You have to find 12 points in clean sheets and goals amongst the other players just to break even!
Thanks, CJ. Good reply. But you have to factor-in the cost of the transfers you have to make to get to the (say) 11 starting players you want. Even if you had planned weeks in advance and you were able to use only your FTs, you’d need to allow for the transfers afterwards as you reverse-out into GW29 and the following GWs. This has the potential to place real restrictions on your transfer activity. Maybe I’m just arguing the toss here – I feel like I’m on a sticky wicket – but there must be a germ of truth in there somewhere?
It’s a good point you make. I guess it is the compromise we will have to make. For example 9 players starting with a -8 point hit. Would that be acceptable? I am worried about what I am going to do at the moment.
I can’t do it! I can’t do it! I can’t bring myself to sell Kane or Costa! I feel that both have a chance to bring in some good points next week. However; I really need to bring in Aguero for a potential DGW and probably triple captain.
Would this be crazy and very foolish: to sell Defoe for aguero giving me a front 3 of aguero, Kane and costa (i.e. Very expensive) and sell Sanchez (who is playing Liverpool and then has a blank anyway) to bring in a 5.0 player instead. Then can upgrade to siggy week after. It would give me a -4.0 hit so not massive – but would struggle to afford Sanchez again as he has gone up +0.4 since I bought him.
Thoughts?
I don’t know if this influences the decision. But currently 750 overall and my goal is to finish in the top 10. Not to worried on mini leagues at the moment as have a big cushion with wild card in the bank to correct after all this madness.
Thank you in advance!
Current Team:
Well, CJ, 750 rank! Blooming brilliant! I take basic my question on loading up for GW28. Can’t argue with someone who’s hundreds of points ahead of me!
Sanchez and Kane together must add up to in excess of £22m. You could easily afford both Aguero AND Sterling for GW27 and TC Aguero. Will cost you (-4), but don’t forget that you’ll be getting two in-form players for a DGW. Then, for GW 28, you can ship out Sterling for Sigurdsson. If you think that Sanchez is a must then you must find a way of affording both him and Aguero in your line-up. I’d say that having Phillips, Capoue and Stanislaw, who are out of form or unsure of starting places, is a big down-side to having these expensive premium players. Mind you, your back line is amazing!
Current rank:
CJ, Costa would have to go for me – out of he and Kane one is explosive and one isn’t…..
Now CJ, that’s an amazing rank mate – would you like to join Derek in a FF247 interview?
Hi cookie. Sorry for late reply. Just got back from my honeymoon! Lost all the brownie points I had saved up with my wife to allow me to watch saints in the EFL Cup final while on our honeymoon and to see us play that well was great. Well done for your win though!
Would love to contribute something back to the forum. 247 have been fantastic over the last 3 years for me.
Well congratulations CJ!
Yeah sorry about the result- your boys played very well and you have a gem there in Gabbiadini.
Great re the interview – I’ll drop you an email later this week.
