Live Match Chat Gameweek 26 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 26 FPL News: It’s a slightly reduced fixture list this week as we have just the 8 games having lost all of Arsenal, both Manchester clubs and Southampton due to the League Cup final but if this comes as a shock to you at this stage then you really haven’t been paying attention! And it’s probably a bit late to do anything about it now. If you are feeling deprived though then this is just the appetiser to GW28 which looks like the shell of a real gameweek. This one does still span three days though and we begin on Saturday with five 3pm kick offs featuring the likes of Chelsea and Everton with potentially plum home ties as the main highlights, before Watford entertain West Ham in the evening game. Sunday then sees Spurs host Stoke before Leicester and Liverpool see out our FPL week on Monday evening. Live Match Chat is when we truly hand the site over to the community so feel free to post your comments and feelings as the games happen.

Assuming City win replay are Kun and Sterling likely to play both DGW matches?

Assuming city beat huddlesfield are we just bringing in Kun and sterling? Anyone going to use the TC chip?

Guys thinkong of doing the following:
Costa and erik to kun and sterling, is this silly? I could just do costa to kun for no hit. What do we think?

Hi all. A lot of folks thinking ahead to GW28, of course, with only four (possibly five) matches going ahead. So understandably people are transferring in Liverpool, Swansea, Hull etc players. But there is a difficulty, With so few teams playing you’re inevitably going to end up with a lot of “contradictions”. So, Lukaku goal means no clean sheet for McAuley; a Jakupovic clean sheet requires a blank for Sigurdson and so on…So isn’t it best to resist the temptation of loading up and instead selecting only one or two players per match, ensuring no contradictions as far as possible, and concentrate planning on a good GW29 line-up?

      Here what your saying Qwk,

However; it would take a brave man to have all your eggs in one basket and only have 4 or 5 players starting and hoping they all score / keep their clean sheets etc.

Better to have the cover, even if a goal from Lukako means no clean sheet for mcauley! And let’s be honest we all have mcauley in because he is a goal machine. I am after the 6 points, not the petty 4 haha!

It is better to have the cover and at least your getting 2 points for that player. Another way is to look at the maths.

5 starting players = 10 (60 mins and no cards etc)

11 players = 22 points. You have to find 12 points in clean sheets and goals amongst the other players just to break even!

Thanks, CJ. Good reply. But you have to factor-in the cost of the transfers you have to make to get to the (say) 11 starting players you want. Even if you had planned weeks in advance and you were able to use only your FTs, you’d need to allow for the transfers afterwards as you reverse-out into GW29 and the following GWs. This has the potential to place real restrictions on your transfer activity. Maybe I’m just arguing the toss here – I feel like I’m on a sticky wicket – but there must be a germ of truth in there somewhere?

It’s a good point you make. I guess it is the compromise we will have to make. For example 9 players starting with a -8 point hit. Would that be acceptable? I am worried about what I am going to do at the moment.

I can’t do it! I can’t do it! I can’t bring myself to sell Kane or Costa! I feel that both have a chance to bring in some good points next week. However; I really need to bring in Aguero for a potential DGW and probably triple captain.

Would this be crazy and very foolish: to sell Defoe for aguero giving me a front 3 of aguero, Kane and costa (i.e. Very expensive) and sell Sanchez (who is playing Liverpool and then has a blank anyway) to bring in a 5.0 player instead. Then can upgrade to siggy week after. It would give me a -4.0 hit so not massive – but would struggle to afford Sanchez again as he has gone up +0.4 since I bought him.

    Thoughts?

I don’t know if this influences the decision. But currently 750 overall and my goal is to finish in the top 10. Not to worried on mini leagues at the moment as have a big cushion with wild card in the bank to correct after all this madness.

    Thank you in advance!

Well, CJ, 750 rank! Blooming brilliant! I take basic my question on loading up for GW28. Can’t argue with someone who’s hundreds of points ahead of me!

Sanchez and Kane together must add up to in excess of £22m. You could easily afford both Aguero AND Sterling for GW27 and TC Aguero. Will cost you (-4), but don’t forget that you’ll be getting two in-form players for a DGW. Then, for GW 28, you can ship out Sterling for Sigurdsson. If you think that Sanchez is a must then you must find a way of affording both him and Aguero in your line-up. I’d say that having Phillips, Capoue and Stanislaw, who are out of form or unsure of starting places, is a big down-side to having these expensive premium players. Mind you, your back line is amazing!
