Live Match Chat Gameweek 34 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 34 FPL News: The frantic planning is now over and it’s time to sit back and hope that your double game-week players all see the pitch twice or indeed to hope that your single ones don’t come a cropper in the FA Cup before they get their FPL chance to shine in midweek. GW34 is fraught with danger whichever way you look at it but on the bright side there’s football aplenty this week! The gameweek begins late this week as we have four 3pm kick offs on Saturday and it’s basement battle time as 7 of the 8 featured teams could still technically be relegated. With no evening game Saturday will be over in the flash of an eye and then Sunday sees 2 of this weeks 3 DGW teams begin their quest as Man Utd go to Burnley in the early one before Palace visit Anfield in the later game. We then have a breather for a day before Chelsea and Southampton get us back under way on Tuesday night. Wednesday sees another three games before we finally conclude on Thursday evening with the Manchester derby.

How’s this for a first stab WC? Jesus is a massive punt, big could easily be switch to Defoe, Deeney or Rondon if he’s not playing. Any glaring mistakes or missed opportunities? Please done suggest anyone from that team on the south coast, as I won’t consider any of them. Thanks.

Hey guys. My ml is getting away from me. I’m after slipping to third place now after leading all season. I’m tempted to use my wc this week and this would also set me up for the bb in 37. It would mean losing kun kaku and negredo for the three below. What’s the thinking? Thanks as always.

Without me having to count them all off how many DGW37 players does that give you please man u? Benalouane may be risky as he’s only deputising for Morgan. He’s slated as being back on the 6th.

      • man u man says:

Hey Initt, how’s life? Yeah that gives me 13 including Benalouane, that’s if they’re all picked.

        • inittowinit says:

Good thank you, yourself? Away with work again this week though which I hate this time of year as it gets in the way of FPL planning!

In my mind right now I’m going into 37 with a full 15 of DGW’ers but I haven’t actually looked at it properly yet. If you have and you feel that say 13 is sufficient then that’s fine. One of my main reasons for doing it the exact week before would be to cut down on the possibility of losing anyone in the week in between. That’s the main risk you are taking I think. Other than perhaps not having some players who you should maybe have for 35 as a result of going early.

I’m just afraid of losing ground as a result of only having one Spurs player. Also I think Coutinho may be worth holding on to even though he’s not on a double gameweek. And surely Costa will turn his form around with Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures.Holgate is my other non dgw player, but for his price I don’t think I’ll do any better. I’d love to hold Kun but I suppose we can’t have them all.

        • DMC says:

Yep. 15 all the way. No point on going with less unless it’s for someone like Lukaku vs Watford but, then again, for that price surely one would prefer another striker or a Gabbi-Sanchez combo of some sort. We need that money!! If it’s for low key players, no point.
I’ve taken a fair bit and it doens’t look good in terms of having many big guns. In fact, it seems we may need a few Ndongs or Manquillos in there to acomodate the other. Oddly, only Kane stands out as a must have in the forwards spots. Unless we hear (see) kun is out and jesus is in.

        • inittowinit says:

Jesus is a perfect example of why I think waiting as long as possible is preferable. The landscape can change so much over 2 weeks.

        • man u man says:

Yeah I may just wait for one more week so. Thanks guys.

if u are desperate to make a last boost for catching the leader, just wildcard
but please aware on, DGW on 36 (soton and arsenal) and big DGW on 37 and hopefully the team will have at least >12 players for big DGW

      1. GK – seems ok for me. (or maybe cech over foster)
      2. Try put, yoshida and take a look for holding (arsenal)- dgw 36. Kompany to clichy
      3. Mf – maybe king and alli if can
      4. Could u take vardy over costa. and please take a close look on jesus (city) gametime.

      Rosco77 says:

Reckon between the two of us we can pull together a bunch of facts and figures!! It’ll be interesting to see who we bring in, the most important thing though…and the most tricky is keeping Rafa..over to you Mike…

      • Kop Warrior says:

Surely you’ll hang onto him? You managed to keep him after relegation…

Any idea how much Ashley will spend? Ye can have Sturridge on the cheap 😉

        • Rosco77 says:

Haha I do like Sturridge but he’s too injury prone and doesn’t seem to be able to string a set of games together. Isn’t it usually you guys paying over the odds for our players!? I’d do a winking emoji here if I knew how to do it!!

        • Kop Warrior says:

Only if they play for Southampton 😉

      • Rosco77 says:

He stayed on the basis of having full control of all football matters. It was very obvious in January that he wanted to strengthen the squad and assumed he could do this…and then we signed nobody and a few comments came out that indicated he wasn’t happy. Ashley has done this in the past (to our detriment) where if the squad is performing well he will not spend in January.
I think this has lead to a lot of resentment (understandably) form Benitez and thats why he’s reluctant to commit to next season.
I think he will need some assurances that money will be given to him if he asks, I just hope its not went past that point.

        • Kop Warrior says:

Hopefully he stays. I’ve a hot of time for Rafa. Not only because he won us the CL but he’s a genuinely decent bloke.

        • Rosco77 says:

Yeah we love him up here, best thing thats happened to our club since we got rid of Chris Houghton in my opinion.
We used to be a team people liked, but so many bad things have happened (a lot of them from Ashley) and its turned us into a bit of a joke club from outsiders looking in.

The fans have been labelled as fickle and somehow the media have created an image of the Newcastle fan who presumes we deserve this and that. In truth nothing could be further from the truth, all we’ve wanted is a good manager who is given all the tools he can to be successful and a team on the pitch who wants to play for us and tries hard. Obviously every fan wants their team to be successful but after years of nothing we’re realists up here!

We got a lot of stick over the Pardew era and got called worse than muck for supposedly hounding him out with cries of ‘he’s a great manager, look how he’s doing at Palace’ ..we all know how that turned out!

Rafa is a gent and truly lovely man from everything I’ve seen, I love him to bits!
I have a lot of time for your manager too, totally different character but he has real class and seems very likeable not to mention bloody good at his job to boot!
