Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 35 FPL News: After a sensational Alvaro Negredo display in DGW 34, we head into a buffer of sorts. With doubles in 34, 36 and 37, this GW we can relax a little, sort of. We kick it off with four 3pm fixtures. It is pure excitement when the low scoring Saints tangle with a difficult opponent to not score on, Hull. It should be a test of wills to see who underperforms more, the Saints attack or the Hull defence. If you think that doesn’t offer enough to make you fall asleep, perhaps a taste of Stoke vs West Ham? Over the last 10 matches these two are 16th in 17th in points and have scored 20 goals combined over those 10×2 games. Yeah, a goal a game. So snooze should be on the loose in this one. For those that don’t need a mid afternoon nap, I present to you Sunderland vs Bournemouth. This could provide us with comedy gold, in particular on defence, as neither team attempts to play any. The last of the opening 4 fixtures sees West Brom welcome in Leicester, yeah, moving on. In the 5:30 game Palace hosts those away stars, Burnley. With 3 draws in their last 6 away games, think we can say they are in-form, perhaps I will place a bet on them.

Luckily after enduring a Saturday of not having any real footy to watch and feeling properly rested, we come to Sunday. Yes, yes, yes, yes…sorry was watching when Harry met Sally orga, errrr, restaurant scene. Where were we at? Oh yes, Sunday footy. Lunch time sees the battle for fourth resume, as United tangles with a Swansea side who also has a lot to play for. Both teams in need of a win, will hopefully lead to some goals, maybe, Jose is capable of sucking the fun out of any game, so be aware. That is followed by two 2pm-ish encounters. Boro and their vaunted attack will look to score some goals, well, a goal vs City. City’s fans (player’s families) will want to get out of that red velvet sandwich they are currently caught in with LFC one point ahead and United one point behind tickling their tuckus. We also see Lukaku’s former and future employer Chesea visit Goodison looking to inch closer to the title. CFC has slowly let Spurs crawl back into the race, so they can break their hearts again at the end. In the last Sunday fixture we have the possibility of pure joy. We see the possibility of killing 2 dreams with one stone. When Spurs face Arsenal only one result would do us right. A loss for Tottenham would all but end Spurs title dreams to their bitter rivals and hopefully such a result would lead to a new contract for Wenger. Sounds like a win-win to me.

Monday finishes off the GW with Watford hosting Liverpool. Should be a very predictable game. If City and United win expect LFC to do also, If either of the Manchester sides drop points expect LFC to. If there is one thing we know is that if LFC is given an opportunity, they let it slip away.

Please join us as ever to discuss the games as they happen and share your feelings, successes and woes as the action unfolds and hopefully the FPL points flood in for you.

  1. Guys I’m on my wc. I’m not too comfortable about Gabriel and Benaloan. Any suggestions guys? Is the team ok or should i do something else?

    • Gabriel spot is safe but Morgan coming back soon so Benalouane spot is in jeopardy

      • Need clarity on that Gabriel thing myself actually now you mention it.

Mitro what’s the craic do you reckon?

    • Additionally I won’t pick Sanchez, he’s in poor form

      • He does have a DGW tho and surely he will come good and his fixtures are great

      • If he was playing up front I would be more inclined to agree with you guys but playing out wide he’s not effective, less shots overall most you can expect is an assist or two

        • I couldn’t put my hand on them to quote them right now but I’ve definitely seen stats at some point to suggest otherwise Chris. Certainly from past seasons anyway. Kop will probably know what I’m on about if he sees this.

        • His points have only dropped since Arsenal have been poor. Sanchez has played most of his games for Arsenal from the left

  2. WC draft. Pickford, Capoue, Maguire and Holgate on the bench. Any thoughts will be welcome

    • Personally I’d ditch Defoe. He has games away at Arsenal and Chelsea where they might get a spanking. Plus he’s not scored for a while . Rashford and Gabby are better alternatives

      • Gabby after his 59 minutes cameo?

      • Rashford may be rotated and for Gabby I question how many minutes he will get, because of that his lack of form

        • Defoe has not scored all year so both better options. Gab is just back from injury but won’t play 90 mins twice

        • I look at it as Defoe is overdue and that’s my concern with Gabby, won’t play both games in a DGW

      • Morale is at the lowest point ever at Sunderland, Defoe out of form and counting down the days till he can leave.

  3. Genius. My rival and I both have Pieters. He did not play so for him Stephen’s comes on. Holebas my first benched player not even on the teamsheet, so I get blood third on the bench Gibson. Aargh. So unfair.

  4. Final match of the GW line ups

    Watford

    1Gomes 6Mariappa 5Prödl 3Britos 22Janmaat 8Cleverley 16Doucouré 29Capoue 7Amrabat 9Deeney 21Niang

    Liverpool

    22Mignolet 2Clyne 32Matip 6Lovren 7Milner 23Can 21Lucas 5Wijnaldum 11Firmino 27Origi 10Coutinho

    • Bollocks, where’s Holebas?! Oh well, at least he can’t lose me any points smile

      • Didn’t even notice that myself, zero players left for me going and I’m not really interested in watching Watford at all at the minute, this GW is dead to me now smile

        • Same here I finished on 67 points, tinkering with my WC team now

        • That’s mine done as well then, was going to fake a passing interest in the game but won’t even bother doing that now smile Holgate in for a point to finish my week. Woohoo!

        • Sorry it’s 68 points, Holgate coming in for Pieters

    • Could do with a Britos goal. Bloody Pieters not playing

      • Didn’t Stoke change formation to a more Chelsea type line up as well, might be one to watch for next season when we look for our budget type Alonso figures.

        • I think Pieters has played LWB. But not sure why he did not play

    • I’ve Coutinho captain to save my gw

  5. In the last 4 GW, I had 53 points on the bench. Shocking!

  6. Costa or Kane for the remainder of the season?

    • Kane, I see double digit scores in him. Can’t say the same with Costa!

      • Costa has the more appealing fixtures though… And the extra cash helps with the WC!

        • Tough one that don’t think there will be much between them

        • Do u have hazard?

        • Yep, I have Hazard and Alli. Kane has been in my WC team for a while, but seriously considering ditching him for Costa to strengthen elsewhere.

        • Id definitely prefer Kane then mate. Just think 1 of either hazard or Costa is desriable as well.

        • True but less managers own Kane than Costa

    • Kane all day

    • Kane

    • Form over fixtures…..Kane…..!!
