Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 36 FPL News: Welcome to the double before the DOUBLE! Don’t let the appetizer feel fool you though, this small DGW will be just as vital when it is all said and done in fpl. For those of you who like to drown in misery for more time than you really should, do we have a treat for you. This game-week starts on a Friday and ends the following Wednesday, so plenty of time to second guess yourself while the actual GW drags on and on. The Hammers and Spurs kick it all off with an 8pm fixture. West Ham has won once in their last 10, Tottenham has lost once in their last 10. Hmmmm, I wonder how this is going to go?
On Saturday we get it rolling with a lunch time affair between City and Palace. City needs to win by at least 2 goals to take over third place and Palace with a win 99.9% secures the top flight for next season. 3pm brings us four fixtures. Cherry power tangles with on vacation Stoke, The Clarets play a round of golf with The Baggies, Hull plays the new biggest game ever vs nobody, nobody at all, although some people call them Sunderland. The Foxes and Watford round out the three o’clock games, both teams all but secure their spot in the top league with 1 point, I know what South Americans would do. The last of the Saturday squabbles end with in-need Swansea hosting Everton.
Sunday brings us only two fixtures, but both should be a lot of fun. Liverpool is so close yet so far away to securing a top 4 spot, all they have to do is beat their B team, Southampton. How hard can this be? Really? Just threaten to stop buying their players, job done. In the late game, we see Arsenal and United battle to the death…on twitter and not the players, their fans. Who was better, who was what in the early 2000s. FA cup matters more than the Europa, Europa hands out a Champions League spot, you paid x amount for Pogdab, you still have Wenger, blah blah blah. Meanwhile on the field, United will field whoever is brave enough and Arsenal will play a bunch of overpaid (yeah, even at Arsenal that happens) crybabies who would rather be somewhere else.
Monday brings with it one fixture. Chelsea will inch closer to the title and all but finish relegating Middlesbrough when these two face-off at Stamford Bridge. Hopefully Diego scores one or two before he heads off to China to get even older and live in luxury as he so deserves. Turning on Brazil, asking players from an opposing team to let his team (Rayo Vallecano vs Granada) score and stamping on people rewarded with millions.
Wednesday sees the end of this mini double. As Saints welcome in Arsenal for each of those teams second affair of the GW. Frankly who knows what we will see here. Southampton is just playing out the string and by the time The Gunners arrive at St. Mary’s stadium for all intents and purposes they could be also.

Get in!
47 the difference now. Took 18 out of him this week so far. 6 left for me as opposed to 3, both have a captain left.
I’tll be a lot more than 18 by the time this GW finishes, shut it down, this one’s in the bag
Good work Init lad
This is looking more and more done
Yep it’s done
In.the.bag.
Get in Init son!!!!
Cheers guys. I’ll still be covering his Vardy pick though, professional to the end
Would expect nothing less
Does he have BB left, if not you’re safe
No, but I do He has TC only. That’ll go on Vardy or Costa, both of whom I’ll own anyway. That’s unless he does a lot of hits, in which case even better. Either way he needs snookers.
You got that league in the bag. I am on 1820 points. Hoping to reach 2000 points!
Well done init, way to hunt him down! :biggun:
The irony is that the guy I’ve been hunting down is now 3rd!!!
Haha, he kept hearing the footsteps behind him and broke under the pressure! I love chasing down people who are way out front at certain times of the season. I remember looking at a couple players in the LFC Boston ML, which is a huge group, who I wondered if I’d ever catch earlier in the season. Closest one to me now is 75 points behind and used his 2nd WC in January. Have some of that, boys!
Brilliant then. What’s the chip and current ship situation for 3rd now? Appreciate 65-ish pts is too much but if he has BB he could easily be your target here instead of the current 2nd.
*current gw I meant.
He’s got a TC too DMC. And nowt else. He’ll probably plop it on Hazard, knowing him well, who I don’t have so I may just cover both off (being super cautious / borderline neurotic)!
Yeah no need to worry then. Wrapped up and on to next season!
No chance you’ll be getting off that easily, I’ll be doing a self congratulatory lap of honour all summer if I pull this one off, which looks likely
Eheheh I’ll join you on that one, hopefully.
Well done innit.
Nice one Mr Init.
All about the cup for me though. Better luck next season.
One for the ages this isn’t it?!
How was your day at Partick?
Hey Init,
Fell asleep after my last message last night – that’s how my day at Partick was!
I was hungover from the Saturday and suffered during the game but I had some post-match pints with some friends and got drunk all over again very quickly.
Sunshine, beer garden and a last minute winner – it was easy to get carried away in this season of general woe for us 😉
Okay all, pick the combo you would prefer:
1. Caballero & King
2. Caballero & Ox
3. Cech & Ox
Currently only Sanchez for Arsenal and Sane/Jesus for City.
4. Pickford and Pedro
No Sunderland cover and Alonso & Costa for Chelsea.
4 for me
Totally different tack here but if you took out Grant + Jags could you afford Pickford + Kompany/Monreal? Them marquee defenders have been well worth the extra funds invested into them as of late.
Kompany just with 0 to spare.
Monreal with .1 to Spare.
A rotation question. If Chelsea win tomorrow night, would folks be inclined to beef up their City holdings e.g. DeBruyne for Hazard? And, beyond this (I have Pedro and Azpi, as well as Caballero and Jesus) would it be worth hits to move either?
We are assuming a lot that they will be rotated
Pedro may be rotated for Willian as for Azpi I doubt that he will be rotated
ChrisOllie25,
Good calls. Now I can rest a bit easier. Thanks.
I’ve gone early on my transfers for the DGW. Went Grant & Jagielka -> Pickford and Kompany with 2 fts.
Thoughts on this DGW team?
Pretty soild.
Maybe Jesus as cappo?
Got more points on my bench this week.
Tut tut
shanec
That’s tough luck mate. Looking at your starting team though you may still get Stephens off there.
Top of my league for the first time this year….6 more players to go and 51 points….oh and I have 20 points sitting on the bench. Should’ve played my bench boost this week but my rivals have no chips left. I’ve got this in the bag!
Thanks for all your help guys!
Excellent to hear redspyda.
BB this week for you I imagine, nice and steady and your home!
