MLS Chat Room 2015

wp_ss_20150324_0005“With the Red Bulls nearing a shut out, Keane receives the ball just inside the 18 and plays a neat wall pass with Zardes to put him into the 6, his shot on frame is rejected out of bounds by the goal tender but the referee seems to have blown for a PK to the offense for an alleged double team”…

Welcome to the FF247 MLS Chat Room for the 2015 season. A hidden gem within the site if you will, for those fantasy managers who just love to play whatever games they can get their mitts on and specifically in this case MLS. Most of us started playing fantasy MLS back in 2013 and were soon hooked. The aim of the Chat Room is to allow a space for those that play it to come on and post and chat whatever they want about MLS – be it a traditional RMT, some team news, a helpful link to some relevant information or site, info about the many DGW’s, info about the many blank game weeks, info about the many international call up weeks (!).

Whatever is on your mind that is MLS related you can post in the Chat Room and know that it won’t be lost and confused on the FPL chat boards and you can easily access it at any time by simply clicking on the MLS tab at the top of the FF247 home page.

Is Olave beck from suspension this weekend?

    • 37.1

@NiN, I believe he was suspended through April 26, so he should be back. But if this is true I am assuming the red box will disappear from his name once the transfer market opens.

      • NIN says:

Cheers Mito. Initial thoughts for next GW are Castano, Loyd, Finlay -> Non NYRB 4m GK, Olave, Felipe.

        • NIN says:

Or i could just buy Olave and keep the other FT for next GW…

        • It sucks that you have that NYRB keeper. Olave seems like a popular move in our WhatsApp chat. Seems like a couple of managers are wanting to bring him in. It certainly makes sense because of the double and his next fixture. Assuming he plays both games that is. I know he is older, but surely he would play both, I hope. So hard to speculate on how a player will do in the DGWs. So far we have missed on just about all of them. First DGW we all thought Vancouver would be great and they were terrible and last one we all went hard on NYC and that was a disaster. If not using a WC in week 10 I probably keep the 4 points and the free transfer. But like I said in MLS there are a lot more variables, so I wouldn’t fault you for doing one transfer or five. smile

Hmm, if Olave is the obvious, or more popular pick then i might stay away. Just been tinkering a bit, i could just stick with the NYRB players that i’ve got and do Oba&Loyd -> Espi&Omar…

I kinda like the sound of that, if truth be told. Two BP merchants.

Morning. Any MLS folk about? Who to start this week between Loyd and Sjoberg? SGW for Loyd, and a really really tough DGW for Sjoberg. Worth a gamble with COL defence?

Hey guys. What’s the latest on Javier Morales and Aristeguieta?

So, how are those MLS teams looking? Deadline is pretty soon. Really hope NY put a few away tonight.

Morning all. Pretty quick turnaround in MLS this time, any thoughts on this lot? I don’t fancy many DGW players this time round. Maybe Morales if fit, and Omar. Also want to get in Espindola this week but it’s tough to choose a forward to drop for him. What to do…

That’s a tough one mate. I originally thought I play my WC here, but I am not in love with the teams in this DGW either.

Off the top of the head I want Omar, Barnes, Ishi and Jorales if fit. I am sure others will score well and probably outscore those guys, but it’s a crap shoot.

Personally I rather have Single GW players also. Salivating at a Benny, Dempsey, Gio and Castillo midfield with Espi and Martins up top. Probably can’t afford that but just to illustrate that I am with you on the DGW vs SGW players front.

      • NIN says:

Cheers Mito. I have my eye on Gio also. Seems like he will be a must have now that they actually have some home games to play. Bloody Silva has been a nightmare. Any word on him getting a start soon?

        • I am not sure anything has really changed with Silva. I can see potential based on last season and one continues to figure at some point he will get the starting job. But I think last time we talked about him I mentioned a concern that it was not necessarily just about fitness that he wasn’t playing and the return of Espi also concerned me as far as Silva. With them playing well you would think it will only be harder for him to get in. I suppose though he will get some starts over the coming weeks with DC having so many games. I am not interested in him until he starts a game where is not based solely on giving another player a rest.

        • NIN says:

Cheers Mito. I’ve just been looking at some options and i can afford Shuttleworth, Loyd & BWP out for Deric, Omar & Espindola. Could set up a switcheroo for Silva in case he gets benched again. I’ve not done one before, though, so i’ll probably make a balls of it! laugh

        • That sounds like a solid 3 to grab. Wouldn’t mind picking them up myself.

        • NIN says:

Yeah, i think these will be my transfers this week. You holding your WC then? If LA were playing even half decent then it might be worth it. Not sure i’d play it this week..

        • Most likely holding NiN. There seems to be more interesting teams to load up on the horizon. Even if it bites me a bit this GW, hopefully it can be made up with a major haul later down the line.

Errrm, can anyone tell me what the actual F**K happened to this otherwise decent enough looking MLS team? I sense a massive hit coming, in an effort to get a team next GW. Help!! Or, alternatively, lead me to the ledge….
